Yes..yes he did. My husband did the same thing.Ignore it and magically it isn’t a problem. 😑 I tried and tried to help, but gave up. We had to move recently and he had to finally handle his 10 years of hoarding and disorganized mess in there. It was terrible! All of us ..dusk till dawn trying to clean and get rid of things as he freaked because he wanted to save it all😳. We had our move out inspection and time was running out and he ended up having to rent the uhaul an extra day and also throw out a bunch of things he actually wanted to keep, because he wasted so much time sorting and keeping things that didn’t matter.. Some men are just like this. Fingers crossed our new garage doesn’t end up the same way 🙄🙄

I felt the worst for my kids.😕 But they did learn that having things are not as important as your time👍 They ALL chose to get rid of most of their own belongings and live a more minimalistic way in their new rooms😊 A simple bed frame and mattress, a small dresser and small desks. Nothing else..not even art on the walls. They have kept it that way for 5 months now. 💗 They are all much happier😁 Only time will tell for the husband👍

You have to let your kids male a mess and enjoy but then you also have to teach them to clean up their mess. Just need a balance of both and not go the extreme

Up til a certain age. Once the kid is 12-13 bedtimes are actually not great to enforce, because teens and preteens need sleep and some are nocturnal, so it’s best just to let them figure it out. My parents are both MSWs, we had bed times til 12 and then we had to be IN our rooms by 10pm. At 14-15, I was allowed to o whatever, because I started college so young.

Once in the living room gashed the bottom of my foot and the last time only a month later on the stairs 😕 .... broke my toe after banging it on the closet door at the bottom of the stairs. It never set quite right. Learned my lesson. Legos always always have to be safely put away. Glad my kids outgrew them.

I don't understand why people don't realise that your children need to have easy access to their toys. Toys aren't just silly or banal ways to distract your child, they have function for their learning! Especially at the young age these girls are. They'll gain storytelling skills, colours, shapes, fine motor skills, sharing, organisation, pattern; it sets them up for going to school. And then, DAD, when they're done playing, tidying up is doing these skill building games all over again.
I think it's important to have a bit of structure. But it's also important to allow yourself to have fun! That's the whole point of these series: finding the right balance, learning one thing or two from the other family's way of living.
The dad would stress me out if I was with him. The girls automatically went into cleaning mode when the confetti was on the ground. It's kinda shameful they didnt know what their toys were. The dad stresses out so much about cleaning that he cant live a normal life and the girls dont have any fun.
I appreciate what she was going for but I would have toned it down a little, especially with the confetti. He's not going to see the good in it if it's too stressful for him. Showing that taking several things out for playtime is okay because it doesnt take that long to clean up and if it isnt cleaned up immediately the world wont end would be important tho. He was much more chill with the mess than she was, but he was biting his nails off.
I like both the moms and both the dads. If he lets the girls make a mess and teaches them how to clean that mess up they’ll learn more than just having everything clean all the time, and it’ll teach them some responsibility. Kids in general take very well to rules and a schedule because they like to know what’s expected of them. Gio doesn’t need a “at 3 we’ll have a snack and at 3:15 we’ll go to your toddler class and at 3:45 we’ll teleport home for a nap.” but things like scheduled nap times, bedtimes, and activities would help keep him and the parents on track with his needs. And since he’s 3 they’re easier than the parents think. When I was a kid Monday was zoo day (it was free for residents), and as a kid I thought we were there for like 3 hours because you know you don’t know what time is yet. We were there for 45 minutes max, so my sister and I would easily go down for a 2 hour nap when we got home. Things like that would be good for Gio.

I like both the moms and both the dads. If he lets the girls make a mess and teaches them how to clean that mess up they’ll learn more than just having everything clean all the time, and it’ll teach them some responsibility. Kids in general take very well to rules and a schedule because they like to know what’s expected of them. Gio doesn’t need a “at 3 we’ll have a snack and at 3:15 we’ll go to your toddler class and at 3:45 we’ll teleport home for a nap.” but things like scheduled nap times, bedtimes, and activities would help keep him and the parents on track with his needs. And since he’s 3 they’re easier than the parents think. When I was a kid Monday was zoo day (it was free for residents), and as a kid I thought we were there for like 3 hours because you know you don’t know what time is yet. We were there for 45 minutes max, so my sister and I would easily go down for a 2 hour nap when we got home. Things like that would be good for Gio.
