If your rust hole is that big, let the foam cure for a day before cutting/ shaping it. If it’s still bouncy it’s still expanding . Then place the bondo once dried. This “tutorial “ is honestly the best way to save. Do it the proper way and it will last you a very long time!
Lol at all the people offended by curse words. I didn't even notice. People are too damn sensitive! They're just words grow up. They say people that curse are more honest anyway
I'm so glad I live in the South below the snow belt. Folks up north don't believe me when I tell them we don't have rust problems like this here. I have a 1988 Volvo with ZERO rust and a 92 GMC van with ZERO rust.
@davidgrason It depends where you live in the south. Humidity level is important! Low level = good, high level= shit! The Amazonas forest is also the south. Drive a car there for 1 year and you will be surprised how many rust you will found!
That will last maybe 5 months. Go to junk yard chop out those rocker sections out of a junker with less rust damage. Cut out existing rusty rockers of your car then weld new ones in. Then that’s a 20 year fix.
theres a lot of vids out there kinda showing the same technique but yours is the best ive watched by far - "squirt a little on her face for good measure " LOLLL
When you look at the Australian standards on rust repairs There is a good loop hole All the has got to be covered to have the car passed for the roadworthy pink slip and right to go
as much work as you put into this, and how obvious this "repair" is after its complete, you could have actually cut out the rust and repaired it correctly with metal. even if you didnt weld the stuff you could have body bonded the metal and at least it'd last more than 4 or 5 months.
It is nearly Halloween and there is a Horror Movie marathon on…. After 6 hours.. it is less of a hack job than this.. but do what you gotta do.. a lot of body shops in my area won’t fix rust at all.. they say it always comes back and don’t want the liability and headaches. As long as it isn’t structural.

Why did you bother with the foam and bondo, you could have just painted over the cardboard and duct tape.
Ya sure. After a rain the cardboard will be falling off the rocker panel like a soaked witch.
The cardboard was only there as a support until the spray foam dried

I was wondering how long your repair lasted before it may have started to break apart or rust reappeared? Thanks for replying!
Not sure
Why not spray it on and cut off access when finished no need for the cardboard
Hole is to big it will fall out
'Let's see if we can fuck it up'. Can't stop laughing.
That must be red neck body shop.
yup I knew it could be done...fixing my car door soon
Hell yah worked on my 99 Ferrari
Its not a car now, its a boat 😅
Well we don't need the four letter words in a UA-cam video but that's a great idea I like it I think I'll do it on my truck
Potty mouth I am
Absolutely genius 🎉🎉🎉
Rust will come back in no time ,, you need to get rid of all the Rust ,, it will only last about a week before rust starts showing up again
Do u have to put the cardboard on there or could u just spray the foam into/onto it without the cardboard
The card board was so that the sprayfoam didn't ooz out . Smaller holes may not require
How did it hold up?
Tape wax paper on inside of cardboard so foam doesn't stick
This is the best video of 2023
Thank you
hehehe "high quality duct tape" lol
Dont even think i was using duct tape brand lmao
