There’s one thing you can count on, and that’s Nick finding some reason to head to Japan
My car just broke down... guess I gotta go to japan
Texas
Plot twist: it was Texas this time
Always to japan
Texas and Japan could be the same place - have you ever seen both at the same time?
“Out of options and desperate for answers, I decided to kidnap Scott himself.”
"Ambush him on his daily walk"
"Lock him up in my basement"
“Interview him with pain”
"Kidnap his son and use him as a hostage."
"I made this video WITH him, And i'm glad i held him at gunpoint
Hey Nick! I'm Taiwanese. And I would like to say you blew my friken mind!!! I grew up with that Taiwanese Domino's slogan "達美樂 打了沒"(which basically means Dominos, have you called? In Chinese "Dominos" and "have you called?" sound really similar). And everyone around me always knew about that "foreigner trying to speak Chinese ads". Cause they were so iconic where I live. To think that person is the same legend that gave us the Domino's App feat. Hatsune Miku ad is absolutely incredible. Thank you for jogging my memory with this amazing video. And good luck with part 2 XD
One last thing I wanna add. If I'm not mistaken. Scott's voice is still used in our Domino's ads TO THIS DAY!!! XD
You say good luck, as if the video hasn’t been completely filmed and edited already.

Every nick Robinson video:
“I remember this old obscure thing. I NEED to find it.”
“So I booked a ticket to ____”
(A bunch of philosophy)
“I got the thing!!!”
And I love them all
That's unironically a good summary of his videos
The equation of life.
only 2-3times has he traveled somewhere other than Japan
Yet another person I know nothing about but I'm about to sit on the edge of my chair for the next 43 hours until Part II is released. Your enthusiasm for the most random things makes your content so good
It's just nutty how Nick Robinson can do this. I am in awe at his ability to make these videos and the passion and work he puts into them.
Doing the most elaborate effort to answer the most trivial question
The randomness is important.
I did not expect to find miata dad here, but I am OK with this development.
Does that mean you haven’t seen Nick’s iconic “Hunt for Hatsune Miku” vid? If not, you have GOT to check it out, this is basically a sequel
For some reason that "He's my dad." moment just came out of nowhere for me and I died.
Also I just love this man's inexplicable passion for absurdly mundane inconsequential topics. Chasing something so simple on its surface all the way to its logical conclusion at all costs. Just, chef's kiss
It was the plot twist of the century
It's basically "I am your Father" but the other way around
the best thing is, as we learned in the other video was how surprised his son actually was at the end of this video when he watched it because he had no idea his dad had met with nick xD
This has to be the most insane story
I literally thought "he is my dad" confession was a troll, but it was actually his son!!
You are literally living a movie and we are all the background characters
If this is actually a movie people would find it unrealistic.
Someday there should be a documentary on Nick Robinson, or at least a mega combo of all of these types of videos that he’s made
“WAIT THERES MORE?!” I audibly started giggling this is so simultaneously dumb but amazing I love this so damn much hahaha
Ha I guess I felt the same way. 2017 UA-cam throwback
THIS IS THE TYPE OF SHIT I LOVE ABOUT UA-cam, MAN!!!
It keeps you on the edge of your seat when you see it happen, and even with a long-time viewer on Nick's like myself, it's still exciting to see what kind of info he holds back to give an extra shock type of punch in the video to keep us watching
Exactly this. I am so invested. And I don't know why.
The creation of the Scott Cinematic Universe
I love that Nick made a cinematic trailer for no real reason.
What trailer?
Tero Utopian where?
@@onriica I can just click the play button and it plays the trailer.
Laula programmiert oh, it won’t let me do that :(, thx for letting me know
"no reason"
Wow! Cant wait for the Satoshi Nakamoto video
…
Nerds still alive!!! I thought he'd left UA-cam.
nick could probably pull it
It's Adam Back
Where them NFTs
I was a child model in the 90's and they handed me a VHS of every ad I was on I still had them. For some I'm like a background character you barely see, so imagine if you are the main focus of the ad. 100% you would have a tape of that
Nick has a way of making us understand why he fixates on his goals, and when he accomplishes them I’m always so incredibly happy because it feels like I was there to witness it all unfold. Such amazing attention to detail
That's so well put.
It's his world and we're all living in it.
This is amazing, Nick Robinson keeps reaching the unbelievable

Taiwanese here. It was a crazy revelation for me when Marc said “in Taiwan.” I thought to myself, “how the hell dis I miss that? Scott had been the face of Taiwanese Domino’s 達美樂” for years and years!!” And all the dots were connected.
Domino and Pizza Hut were the two major pizza delivery restaurant in Taiwan back then and Domino was blasting these commercials constantly. No joke I probably saw it at least twice per day during afternoon cartoon right after school and during the 8pm drama every week day evening. 「達美樂 打了沒」 was his catch phrase and I’d bet you everything that 99% of Taiwanese people over 30 knew about and saw his commercials on TV.m
The “whatever this is” clip Nick commented on was one of the most iconic one. It was so memorable and honestly done very well (catered to the local audience perfectly).
As a father this is heart warming. Mark seems so proud of him.
I discovered this channel while half delirious with fever back in the pappy van poodle era and have not regretted subscribing since
Always a good choice to see this man
I subscribed when he first started looking for the Domino's Pizza feat. Hatsune Miku ad
When I think of UA-camrs I'd recommend my first thought is Nick
Mine was me looking up what second point view looked like
Mine was the car boys era, but let's not dwell on that eh?
I seriously am flabbergasted by the amount of interesting things to have happened to you in these past 3 years. And I'm extremely grateful that you decided to share the experiences with all of us too!!!! They seriously never fail to make my day
edit: i just got to the end, and I am SO HYPED RIGHT NOW- I haven't felt this excited about something for years holy shit. Ohgod I'm getting emotional, I am so fucking happy for you!!!!!
Hes a main character
+Minty V this is such a kind comment ;~; thank you so much!
@@babylonian I don't know what it is about you but you possess this immensely good-faithed ability to pull people from seemingly random places across the world, for the sake of making friendships and gathering information. Some people have criticized you for making videos that are in their opinion overblown or useless...though again, you are very blunt about the "actual" importance of your content and put yourself down in an affectionate manner. I wish more creators that had these traits existed, much like UA-cam did in its early days.
I also sent you something in Instagram that I think you could at least have a few thoughts about. Don't mention it here, please.
FR!!!!! All i think about when i watch his videos is "i wish my life was as interesting as his life" lol
I can’t wait for the next part of the series where Scott agrees to a real interview announcing he’s coming out of retirement which automatically restores the Miku Dominos app and creating peace between all warring nations.
Until the fire nation attacks
These videos are a genre of their own. Almost serious investigative journalism, but based on just the weird rabbit holes that you get sucked into. A LOT of youtube is deep dives into weird rabbit holes of internet culture, but they tend to be rehashes of 4chan conversations and reddit threads and old videos, etc. You are the only one I know of out here creating internet legends out of the whole cloth of reality. It's special.
I feel like being Nick Robinson is a personified idea in my mind of what living without social anxiety is like.
Literally like he can achieve the impossible, I can't even leave a voice message without building up 2 hours of courage
Relatable, have a nice day.
I am so confused but so excited at the same time. This can only be good.
hi box
Nick I mf love you. Your interest in people, and weird/quirky things is so genuine and shows through in every part of your video. As a Taiwanese american who speaks mandarin, it was really something to experience a bit of content that my parents might have watched back in the day. it was also nice seeing someone just casually know people in Taiwan speak mandarin chinese. It's definitely in an unorthodox medium, but I'd say you're a bit of a historian documenting culture that is so easily lost to time.
As soon as I saw the profile image on the private message to you I thought ‘omg he’s using a picture of himself when he was younger!’ and then when you showed the message, I knew before you even said it. I love how instead of straight up telling you he sends you a mysterious screenshot because he knew that would be great for a follow up video. What an icon.
THE LEGEND HIMSELF!
What a wonderful, gracious human being with a wonderful, gracious son! Congrats on meeting your hero, Nick!

Hi Nick I'm from Taiwan
That 007 parody Ad was in fact ,very popular back then! I'm so stunned to see that in your vid
almost every 2000's kid remember that ad and the catchy slogan at the end "達美樂 打了沒?" 🍕
--- fun facts: the "達美樂 打了沒?" slogan is a masterpiece of wordplay (paronomasia)
達美樂 (da Mei le) = Mandarin translation of "Donimo"
打了沒 (da le mei) = means "Have you called (ordered) yet?" which sounds familiar with 達美樂 (da Mei le)
combined sounds very catchy (almost brainwashing) and the ad was on every major channel that made the slogan a meme ,in facts it was so successful ... rival pizza stores were so desperate to create pun-related commercials that leads to many epic pizza ads as well. (such an golden era of funny commercials)
btw the phone number 2882-5252 is also a pun...
2 - sounds like 餓 (hungry)
88 - sounds like 爸爸 (papa / dad)
(2 again)
5 - sounds like 我 (me)
"52" can be pronounce as "我餓" (I'm hungry)
so 2882-5252 roughly means "dad's hungry , I'm hungry (too)" or "dad I'm really really hungry"
and this translation was actually printed on flyers for people to memorize!
and!!!
the name of the pizza : "BBQ 淋淋雞 pizza" was clever too
淋 (lin) means "baste" , and 淋 sounds like 零 (lin) which means "zero"
雞 (gee) means chicken, sounds like 七 (chi) means "seven"
"BBQ淋淋雞" can mean "chicken basted with BBQ sauce.
and also a great pun on "007"
commercial without the "likable foreign guy" isn't feels right for me.
we miss those ads so bad.
hope Scott is doing well.
This deserves more likes!!!
that’s so fun! what a cool breakdown, thank you for posting it!
this needs to be pinned
Jesus Christ, Asian languages got one hell of a wordplay skill ceiling
there are quite a number of commercial on YT too
When Nick was wondering where he could find the Taiwanese commercials I genuinely thought the next words out of his mouth were gonna be "So I booked a flight to Taiwan." I love 90's Scott so much! His little Domino bow tie in the last one, adorable. Now we know there are two Asian countries that sorely miss Mr. Scott now that he's retired
Things I learned so far:
Scott O lives in Minnesota
Nick Robinson can't tell the difference between the Gophers and the Vikings
Noticed that too and was a little disappointed I have to admit
Was scrolling to see when someone would notice that
Can't believe I'm from the same state as this man. Truly based.
@@rambbler we are all blessed to be from the land of 10,000 lakes
Just for calorification purposes @ 10:15, they're at a University of Minnesota Gophers game. TCF Bank Stadium is home to the Gophers; meanwhile, the Vikings play at US Bank Stadium. Granted, the Vikings did play at TCF Bank Stadium for two years, but by 2017 (the year of the post), they had moved to US Bank Stadium.
This made my Minneapolis dwelling self twitch a little 😂 they were wearing Gophers gear and he said Vikings
calorification? as if it wasn't a yummy enough scoop
You know Nick was giggling the entire time while making that trailer
Nick's motivation to find out answers for the most trivial things is hilarious and fun to watch!

Nick is the kind of person who would travel across the world just to have few minutes conversation with someone
That's what he did here
This is so weirdly wholesome. It reminds me of the guy who found the Window's parody meme store building in Google VR. (It actually prompted me to buy an Oculus) I don't have a Dominos close to me where I've moved, but I would've ordered one.

Nick is just so extra about everything that everyone he interviews has to take on the role of a straight man. It's like watching a sitcom character irl. And it's the best.
That ending where Scott walks in with those mischievous eyes peeking over the mask.
you know it's getting good when nick says "out of options and desperate for some kind of resolution"
I don’t even know what’s going on but I’m already hyped
The main twist in this video hits just as hard as Nick being the one to buy the McDonald's eCDP cart and DS.

2:06 The Porter Nuture Live Ad's appearance in a critic article about Miko Ad in Nick's video (while other Ads blocked out) is the most funniest coincidence I've ever seen. Good job, Nick!

Second, that you were able meet someone you have wanted to meet forever a son and was granted an interview. To me that is even cooler because you get a more intimate look.
