Part of me wishes that Obsidian and Leonard was working on Bloodlines 2 (with Tim Cain assisting again) but, well... I'll give Chinese Room a chance, they deserve one. It seems a multiplayer mode (which included Hunters) was actually planned for Bloodlines, so many of the assets were already there, and just restored into the game. But still, it's great to see how far the game has come. Also, a Vampire game made by Obsidian would be awesome!
Good thing the vampires don't hunt as packs. I imagine a small coterie with Celerity and some military weapons courtesy of a certain local Ghoul would make short work out of the Hunter.

Hunters still rely a lot on numbers and preparations. It would be favourable to ambush a vampire during day, when it has to sleep in it's haven or get some bad penalties. Easy and clean. Vampires are not so combat inclined like say Werewolves, who absolutely shred them with aggravated damage. Younger vampires like neonates are not that different from humans. Well there are ofcourse more combat inclined clans and you might meet problems when trying to meet them face to face. Fortitude would make Gangrel incredibly difficult to take down, while Celerity of Brujah or Toreador would allow them to blitz around you and your team. Malkavian will be relatively easy to face in fight, but thanks to Auspex and Obfuscate it will be more difficult to get a drop on it. Hunters who have True Faith are also able to use "disciplines" like those in the video, they can also use it to resist Dominate with willpower, so it's less likely that f.e Ventrue can mind control them.
@@masterexploder9668 Auspex might be useful, but I'd give credits to the Malks more for the use of dementiate. They are powerful enough to make a mess in your brain not only in conversations, but also during fights. Mass hallucination, or even the vision of one's death (with death following quickly after). Those are very powerful tools that they can use against you. Not sure if a hunter can successfully withstand them, I haven't tested on a hunter while playing as a Malk.

Looking at the Numina I see that they leaned into the faith aspect of the SoL (😅), trying to give True Faith some useful video game mechanics. It would also be neat if they translated some of the Theurgy spells from the core book to usable in game mechanics. The Hellfire one would be easy: your melee weapon is coated in fire that deal Aggravated damage, and the more dots you have in that the more damage you do.

Interesting question! I imagine it being very tactical. Not necessarily a stealth game, but definitely with some stealth elements in it. It is technically possible for a talented and resourceful human to kill a vampire but, as Jack himself says it in Bloodlines, it usually only happens if the human gets the drop on the vampire. So, for a Hunter-focused game, I imagine the player would have to play their cards right. Exploiting the vampire's weaknesses to the fullest, and managing their resources carefully (weapons, numinas, etc)
@@ButWordsRemain I used to run some hunter the reckoning campaigns. The hardest part was finding a proper crossroad where the hunters rules and the vampire rules can connect and depending on where that line is drawn decides what we are talking about. What if the hunter has some defensive edges as well?
