    (Long, sappy comment ahead.) Thank you for making this video. I don’t think it’s a mystery to many people why there appears to be so much more evil than good in the world. It is certainly a pressing issue. I sympathize with people who don’t want to talk about it - they’re just tired of hearing about it, and don’t want it in their life. Their mistake, as you said, is choosing not to fight it. I’ve been making that same mistake for years, and it was only through the empathy of others that I was able to make it through and join the fight. It wasn’t that long ago that I hated myself and everyone else and was ready to take my own life, and the only reason I hadn’t was because there were people who tried to help and understand. Even if they didn’t fully comprehend why I was an agent in spreading evil, they still helped me, and now I’ve remembered the importance of fighting it. One point I oppose is the idea of ‘evil people’. I agree that evil can make people its agent, but saying people ARE evil means we are giving up on saving them. And like you said, why should we give up? A person is only a lost cause if we stop helping them before they pass away, and every life has value. Even the sour, bigoted, 90-year-old corporation owner is not yet beyond hope. We may think that way because we do not fully understand why they are victim to evil - but they are human, and that is enough common ground to justify helping them. Dark Souls was a fitting choice for a background visual. No one in that world is evil themselves, only being manipulated by it. And that is what I think ‘morally grey’ truly means; we are the grey, walking towards the white and away from the black. We are not one or the other, and neither is the world around us. also I was SHOCKED there was no NordVPN sponsor at 2:00 haha

    This video was very therapeutic. It hurts a little bit, but it's sincere. "The hardest boss you can face is yourself." "I was so frustrated that I gave up." "Don't you dare go hollow." The part about goals leading us forward through unhappiness is so real. I feel like a mooch, a slacker, a burden on my parents. Typical, I guess? I struggle with despair. I look back on my mistakes and fears and I cringe so hard. I am physically overcome, my hands wrench up over my face. I decided I am finally going back to college. I started taking some steps and setting some goals. My coping skills transformed practically overnight. My self esteem is improving. I am not meaningfully "happy" now, but working at my goals ensures that I will be. It is worth doing. When I am working at my goal, and I have an intrusive thought that sends a spike of anguish, I do not allow it to intrude further. I cannot crumble over the past or the future, I would never get anything done. It is good to have a reason to remain composed. For now, I just need a reason. My work is the reason I need right now, for it will deliver unto me my real goals. My goals are to move out. To get a job that's interesting and won't kill me. To earn a better life for myself, and my cats. I've always wanted to experiment more with material things. Woodworking. Pottery. I used to watch "Primitive Technology", that looks pretty fun. And easy. I'll need to make some friends to share something that fun with. And dear god, I have pirated a lot of games. I need to buy them proper and restore all the starving indie devs I robbed.

    I had a decent paying job last year that I worked over four years. I was overworked and miserable, stacking heavy lumber every day and often doing the equivalent of two jobs, but kept working regardless because my family was poor. I also had a lead who hated me and eventually he got the job I wanted and also got me fired. Now I realise I should have walked away from it when I realised I needed to. Still trying to get my life back together.

    My playthrough of Dark Souls 1 was that life is hard, but through jolly co-operation, it can be made easier. Sure I can face slam my self in to job/uni/relationships the same way you can attempt a boss over and over and over. but you can also ask others for help on how THEY beat the boss or apply for a uni course. and get help from others who did it before you.

    This video is amazing. I used to play "the meta of life" pretty heavily given I was born in a poor family living in a 3rd world country. (Fellow brazilian) I got achievements, a career, was sponsored by the biggest cloud computing company in the world to live in Australia. Got my permanent residency, reached the top salary and all. Unfortunately, I lost myself along the way which resulted in health issues that I'm still trying to address to this very day (had a surgery literally 5 days ago). Last December, I found myself forced to quit my job to finally address these health issues, burning through my savings and investments to pay the bills and provide for my wife. During this time, I started doing something I've always loved, but never really tried. I started writing fantasy books. It was weird, after all I knew nothing about writing books. Heck, if it wasn't for my love for videogames I might not have learned English given I never studied the language. Right now I have two books published in the Amazon store (The Last Voidstrider series if anyone is curious), and even though my books resulted in a net loss in terms of money, I'm still writing others, happy for realizing I am capable of producing the kind of good stories I fell in love with when I was a teenager. Now I'm finally recovering my body and mind, and I feel ready to go back to the market, but this time I have the mindset that burning your life to achieve an amazing career is not worth it if you lose yourself in the process.

    I stumbled here accidentally, and what you said resonated with my recent thoughts. I hear all around about "optimalization." Optimal training, optimal diet, optimal ways to have fun, yaddi yadda. It tires me to no end. There's no fun anymore, no exploration, no making mistakes, and stumbling around until you find your way. And God forbid we have some fun while we're here if it's not optimal. Thank you for sharing. And to you, dear reader - go ahead and have fun with exploration. You'll find your way eventually.

    I feel that what you are talking about is really important, i recently started going to college for a "meta" major, i know this is what i want to do with my life, i find joy in the pursuit of knowledge in this field and i see myself being fulfilled working in the industry. most of my friends, however, aren't meta players, they forced themselves into studying this either beacuse theres a bunch of money down the line or beacuse they MUST go to college for something, anything. I see them unhappy, stressed and lacking hope, just getting by, surviving. As a society we need to promote other options for people like my friends so they won't end up trapped in a job they hate, that they got from a major they hated studying for. btw, you were playing really well, even if you aren't a no-hit god

    This video found me at the right time, I got into a prestigious university but was miserable there, so eventually I dropped out. Friends family everyone called me lazy but I was just really depressed . I managed to find a job I liked and actually enjoy working hard I even spend my free time learning new skills to further my career. at one point I in my life I even convinced myself that I was lazy and was good for nothing, turns out I just do well In academic system. Now I’ve managed to almost quit my bad habits and my mental and physical health have improved Things still aren’t easy if anything they’ve been harder than they’ve ever been but for once I’m not miserable and I think that’s worth something. I still want to be rich one day don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think the meta is for me. Also one thing I’d like to add on to your video is that I don’t believe in a purpose or grand objective in life and I don’t really think there is a main objective, because I feel like my long term goals change at least once a year haha. I think we have to decide on what’s the most important thing right now and work hard towards that and things work out eventually Anyways thanks for the video chief

    This popped up in my recommendations and i decided to give it a try, super nice title dude it caught my attention immediately. You have a knack for that. I have found that DEFINING goals is the hard part, not having them. If you are rowing on a misty waterway, how will you know you are going in the right direction? I think its really important to mention that someone has clear, concise goals with a clearly defined method to achieving it (though not necessarily, sometimes you only have the pieces to take the first step, and sometimes thats all you need). If happiness is your goal, what is that to you? what are you doing/have done/going to do to make that happen? Give your brain, your soul and your body a clear path! or at the least make sure you can see the next step on the staircase!!!

    • @ButWordsRemain
      @ButWordsRemain 24 дні тому

      True. Defining a goal is often easier said than done. But I also think just *wanting* to find a goal is enough to eventually stumble into it. You rarely find something when you're not looking for it. Sadly, as I said in the video, I get the impression many people are just going through the motions, "playing the meta" even though they never really decided to do that... Anyways, thank you for your kind words! It's always nice reading comments like that.

    • @ButWordsRemain
      @ButWordsRemain Місяць тому

      Hey there. Weapon upgrade doesn't affect multiplayer in anyway in DS2. At that soul memory I think most players have at least their main weapon fully upgraded. This video was recorded at around 30.000 SM. Lots of activity to be found on starting and mid-level areas, specially during weekends. For the rest of the game I see many people suggesting to stay just under 1 million. Beyond that and I think you'd only really find activity on the DLC areas or Drangleic Castte. You might wanna have multiple characters at different soul memory levels so you can invade in different areas.

    Great little showcase of how Skyrim’s positioning based combat can be improved with just a couple of mods. Precision implements such a small change but the impact on the feeling of combat is huge. I like to use Blade and Blunt for what it adds to combat in terms of enemy ai, stamina management, and risk of injury, etc. that paired with a mod called Arena makes combat much more challenging and requires you to make use of other game mechanics in order to prepare for a dungeon, otherwise you’ll get toasted pretty quickly.

Like sure, might be a fine easter egg or something, but if you roleplay, it isn't our apartment and never was, as we are a hunter from the Society of Leopold. It was an apartment of a fledgling vampire, who we might not even known for god's sake.

      Thanks! Unfortunately this modlist is toast, since it was made prior to the big Creations update which broke most mods. I'll try to recreate it soon and share it in future videos.

    Nice! I stumbled upon this vid by chance but I'm glad I gave it a watch; I like this kind of mods in skyrim. If I may ask, I noticed you're using "experience" to make leveling slower via questing/exploring. How has it felt so far? Also, are you using any combat feedback/hit effect mod such as "precision" or "stop on slash"? Thanks!

      Glad you enjoyed it! Personally, I can't play Skyrim without Experience anymore. Not only it makes leveling slower, it also makes quests more rewarding. I find myself eager to deliver quests so I can get the next level, which is nice since many of them don't have great rewards(i.e. a small bit of gold or weapons which don't match your build). I tried using Precision for a time but just couldn't get used to it. I have over 10 years of muscle memory built into this game, and the new hitbox system kinda throws that out the window. For this video I was combining Stop on Slash with another hit reaction mod.

    Im starting my first VtM chronicle tomorrow and im psyched. Spamming WoD lore to immerse myself in deep. I first played Bloodlines back in 2018 or so and I have been holding my breath ever since. Now the final nights are here. And I rise from torpor like a pheonix from its ashes, just dying to introduce my buddies to the setting.

      Glad you found our video! I managed to get a friend of mine into VTM too recently. It's awesome seeing them getting pulled into by all the intrigue and mystery. Hope all goes well with your chronicle!
