Thinbloods are a lot weaker but also they might not have the same vulnerabilities. Some can walk in the sun, eat food, and even occasionally have actual children.
The use of the alleyway background makes it feel like this guys cornered me to evangelize about vtm and won't let me go until I agree to join his chronicle. Excellent 10/10
Thats the big reason I make stuff in the way that I do. Big detailed videos like that are great, I watch them all the time lol. But being that detailed and expansive introduces a lot of problems. Like the fact that if someone unfamiliar to the subject finds the video its going to be just word salad. And to be that long of a video, the majority of the info given is usually stuff that doesn't *actually* matter. My goal is to give enough of a baseline that people now know what those fun extra pointless details even mean lol.
Dude, this brought back some awesome college memories. My roommate’s got me into Hunter, and I loved it. I wish I could do more RPG stuff, but I guess lore dives will have to do. I’d love to see you cover the current Hunter editions, just as something to listen to on my way home from work.
I'd have to look into Hunter! I have some of the 5e books I got in a pdf bundle but I havent read them yet. I'd also wanna get the 20th Anniversary version
Its always a good day when Glueboy drops a vid. It's always interesting when you make a video that's not 40k related because its almost alwyas something I had no idea existed before. I'm sure the algorithm god doesn't like it when you change from your usual content but who cares--keep doing you man, it's always a pleasure to watch
Hell yeah man. I expected it wasn't going to do as well, but I enjoy this setting to much to not make them. And hopefully it stays interesting for you! Cause I do completely mean it when I say that I think most 40k fans would absolutely love World of Darkness since the appeal feels almost the same. Depending on who is writing it you either have a bleak and genuinely depressing world with expanded lore and stories to make everything present feel completely justified in its existence. Or you have lore that is so over the top grimdark and complicated that it becomes hilarious. At least, thats the appeal for both these settings for me lol.
I think michle did absolutely nothing his sword already killed things he was like hey my sword you know the one god made that can kill pretty much anything yea it can kill you
Used to play a ton of VtM and thinking about getting a V5 chronicle going and saw this on my algorithm. Incidentally, I've been huge into 40k for the lasr decade or so. Subbed!
You... don't?... like Blood Angels? I'm so confused. If Glueboy made a video on it, it's worth my time to check out. I've never heard of VtM, but this was a cool introduction to it. Based and Gluepilled.
I don't dislike Blood Angels, its more of a lack of care. Never been a fan of vampires, so vampire Space Marines does nothing for me. HOWEVER. World of Darkness is the only setting where I adore shit like Vampires, Werewolves, or Wizards. They're really well fleshed out and have fantastic lore. Lore so good it makes me care lol
Currently creating a chronicle with friends, and this is the video that I needed to send out to them :) Thank you so much for it ^^ (edit: also don't worry about the algorithm, because I don't follow 40k and still got your video, when I was watching other VtM rpg content :) hope the wod fandom appreciates it as much as I did)
Glad to hear! Hopefully this video helps out some newer players. And even more hopefully the clan overview videos are helpful for them as well. WoD is lots of fun but from a new player's perspective I know it can feel like a lot to learn.
Rip a dude in half? Only if you have pretty high Potence. Being a kindred doesn't inherently make you any faster, stronger, mor durable, or even let you see in the dark. You can rapidly heal from wounds, if you have blood, buy many fledglings are as easy to kill as humans.
Haven't seen any comments about the Sunset Sarsaparilla shirt but it's dope, looking into VtM for the first time and immediately knew what video to click.
I don’t know where else to say this, so I’ll say it here: it’s my head canon that the John Carpenter movies Big Trouble in Little China and Prince of Darkness take place in the world of darkness universe.
the history so far is easy to follow and the clans are interesting to read about, but this is my first RP game i have ever played so i am struggling with dice mechanics within this game, do you have a video that covers that? if not, could you possibly make one? the vocabulary you use and the way you explain is easy to follow and other videos i have watched are long and more complicated, this seems like such a fun game but i am struggling to get started!
I aint the best guy to explain how a ttrpg actually plays tbh. I play a lot of them but I'm not the best teacher. But I will say the dice system is a fair issue to get stuck on if its your first time. Theres a really handy official cheat sheet that explains its really well. www.reddit.com/r/vtm/s/oPNF5RQ3H7 Its a dice pool. Main stat + skill. The fun imo comes into arguing what checks you wanna make. Convince a gun store owner to give a discount? Firearms + Charisma. Decide to rob him? Charisma + Intmidate. Then roll that many dice. 3 is a standard dc. If you see that many symbols (or higher than a 6 if using non VtM dice) its a success. Then check the cheat sheet for all the other stuff for things to consider.
Only to the extent they dont immediately reveal vampires exist. They believe in vampire supremacy and they'll rule over humanity as the sword of Caine, but only once he's actually back lol. But they do make some very agressive and open moves against the Camarilla still when they can get away with it.
Buddy you need to remember this hole story of angels creating vampires is actual fiction and is not at all related to the Bible and is a total contradiction Einstein, so calm down
V5 is the worst worst worst version of Vampire The Masquerade, it's a horrible watered down version for mentally challenged GenZ kids. 3rd edition was just Vampire's peak edition
I mean, thats certainly... a read of it. I don't see how a shift towards personal horror instead of the broader powered supernatural vibe is "watered down for gen z." Of the 2 versions I have the most experience with, V20 and V5. Both have a lot of pros and cons. I'd personally roll with older editons but I prefer V5s humanity and feeding mechanics.
Thinbloods are a lot weaker but also they might not have the same vulnerabilities. Some can walk in the sun, eat food, and even occasionally have actual children.
Nothing is more terrifying to a Kindred that another Kindred that can(maybe) walk around and diablerize you when you are completely defenseless.
The use of the alleyway background makes it feel like this guys cornered me to evangelize about vtm and won't let me go until I agree to join his chronicle. Excellent 10/10
The proper energy of all ttrpg solicitation tbh
Seeing people talk about stuff they're passionate about is always entertaining
This is like the 8th video on VTM I’ve watched and I wish it was the first. So much easier to digest than the 1.5 hour long history lessons.
Thats the big reason I make stuff in the way that I do. Big detailed videos like that are great, I watch them all the time lol. But being that detailed and expansive introduces a lot of problems. This! I'm getting ready to play my first vampire game and this is the best primer and introduction that I have watched.
@kileypark Thats massive praise. Means the video is serving its exact purpose. I hope you enjoy the game!

Thanks for this ♡ the half hour ramble format should be preloaded in the "VtM starter pack" imo.

How does Glue boy always wind up at the cool things I find at the time I find them 😂
Hell yeah, love a good Glueboy vid to got to bed to. Keep up the good work.
I think michle did absolutely nothing his sword already killed things he was like hey my sword you know the one god made that can kill pretty much anything yea it can kill you
Good point. Michael is the biggest slacker in the group project.
The Ventrue are of course the best clan. If you don't believe me all you have to do is ask one of us and we will tell you.
I respect it lmao
On the job getting paid to watch 😅 thanks Glueboy 👍
Amen brother 😂

I loved the background! XD.

Seriously, I love this, this video is the only thing I would genuinely UNDERSTAND whats going on😭😭
I look forward to these videos. Good work.

To paraphrase Baron Temple, apex predators, exclusively nocturnal, can't see better in the dark, evolutionary middle finger lol
To become Prince isn't the difficult part. To stay Prince on the other hand 😂 is quite tricky.
This is much better than your usual 40k content, kudos.
We need movies or Tv Shows as The Originals about Cain and the VtM lore.
Haven't seen any comments about the Sunset Sarsaparilla shirt but it's dope, looking into VtM for the first time and immediately knew what video to click.

Cool usage of the Hades soundtrack.
I'm here to learn.
Nice summary although the 90s descriptions and feels were the best
I'll be honest and admit the pros and cons of V20 vs V5. But I significantly prefer the art direction/vibe of V20 and 3e lol.

And mummies!
I still can't believe I forgot to mention mummies and demons in this video lol. Theres just so much.
Yeah, no. The Sabbat absolutely do not respect the masquerade. LOL!

What?! Now you tell me. Was out here trying to find a Kindred so I could become one. But turns out I was wasting my time smh.
The Bible is also fiction.

I hate Hunter V5 for atealing Hunter the Vigils whole fucking flow, like god damn talk about homework copying.

So a person who thinks climate protests is a good thing is playing a Malkavian? Makes sense!
