Margaery wasn’t into the faith at all. Remember that she was faking it the whole time to get Loras out of prison. The rose she gave Lady Olenna showed that she was only doing what she does best in manipulating the High Sparrow to ensure her brother’s safety. One thing to know about Margaery is that she is extremely loyal to her family and is very cunning. You can’t manipulate a manipulator so easily. Plus, she didn’t know that her father and grandmother were planning an attack with the Lannisters so she just did what she felt like she could only do to protect both herself and her brother.
Yep, she saw that they were in power, and that she should be on the winning side as early as possible. However, I do think that Cersei‘s … response… is proof that conformity and cowardice may work in the short term but ultimately do not pay off
It was that and even more. Margaery wasn't just in it to get Loras out of prison - it is no coincidence that Tommen outlaws trial by combat the moment Margaery is out of prison - she convinced him into doing this because she and the HS wanted to push Cersei into a corner - she was fully planning on using Cersei's trial to kill her. This was the endgame for both of them - one woman would die that day, the other would thrive. Sadly, Cersei was too stupid to play the game and so she flipped the board like any sore loser.
The worst part about Tommen’s death for me is it’s truly the first real decision he ever made for himself, and it was his last. Just such a sad kid. He deserved so much better
I honestly feel like there's no exagerration in saying that this show simply wouldn't be as good or impactful without its composer, Ramin Djawadi. Looking at this episode alone, the first part of the episode sets the atmosphere and this uneasiness with little dialogue, and lets the music do the talking. Light of the Seven is genuinely one of the best pieces of music ever composed, and everything about it not just elevates, but *makes* the scene. And hearing the Winds of Winter as Daenerys finally sales for Westeros after 6 seasons is just gorgeous. Ramin is a genius, and we're so lucky that he's also working on House of the Dragon and making more masterpieces for that show.

A little clarification with no spoilers. Just reminders of stuff said in earlier seasons! Rhaegar wasn’t SUPPOSED to marry someone. He was already married. He was married to Elia Martell. We learned that seasons ago. Remember when Pedro Pascal’s character (Oberyn Martell) fought the Mountain in Dorne and was murdered? He kept trying to make him admit that he had raped and murdered his sister and her children. That was Elia, Rhaegar’s wife. He talks about it in that episode. It was seasons ago. I won’t give you the context of that of course, but just remember that was Prince Rhaegar’s wife. Remember also that Prince Rhaegar is Daenerys’s older brother. She never met him, he was killed before she was born. She talks about that in the first season. Jorah mentions how “your brother Rhaegar was the last true dragon” before she hatched the eggs in the funeral pyre. Lyanna was supposed to marry Robert Baratheon, but events occurred and she died as you Saw so they never married. Robert talks about this in season 1. He wanted Joffrey and Sansa to marry so they could unite their houses like they were supposed to be if he had married Lyanna. Ned and Robert were very close, like brothers.
To add here and also try to not give spoilers, just things we should know to this point. Lyanna, Ned’s sister, was supposed to marry Robert Baratheon, but she was kidnapped by Rhaegar. That set off Robert’s rebellion. That’s when Robert became king. A few episodes ago, we learned that these events Bran is seeing, of a young Ned looking for his sister, happened after Rhaegar died in battle - Ned says something like “Rhaegar is dead”. In this episode, we find out Lyanna died in childbirth, which - and someone correct me if I’m wrong here - but is not what we were told all throughout the series. I’m pretty sure to this point, we were supposed to believe Lyanna was killed by Rhaegar. Nobody was ever told Lyanna had a child - when Ned went back to Winterfell after the rebellion, he said the baby was his bastard child. Lyanna dying is why Robert married Cersei but Robert was still so desperately in love with Lyanna, which didn’t help the marriage.
Main thing to remember is that history is written by the victors... So in Robert's telling she died and was r*ped... Even though I think it is expressed that it was they were both in love but unable to be together... So ran off and got found out. Hence the war starting
Margaery didn't have another choice, what else was she supposed to do? She was playing her cards and acting and was faking it the whole time just to get Loras out of there, when they were out she would've had other plans
definitely my fave finale.. john being named king, cersei being named queen, and danerys on her way to turn it all upside down. great episode from start to finish. chills every time the music starts during cersei's coronation.
ramin djawadi elevated this episode so much with that “light of the seven” score at the start. his contribution to the show through all 8 seasons is such an under appreciated part of what made this show the greatest of all time for so long. all he ever did was slay! in conclusion, i stan for life.
its crazy that cersei had a part to play in all her kids deaths. Cersei having a part in Roberts death leading to Jeoffrey being the king and ultimately his death (also that she raised him so bad, he basically died bcoz he was a prick), Cersei having the mountain kill Oberyn leading to myrcellas death, and now her actions caused tommen to... yk
@@Rash23215 agreed lol, there are a lot of chain reaction deaths. Just find it funny that 'Cersei's only redeeming trait is her love for her children' but her actions keep leading to her children dying

I feel so bad for my girl Margery she was playing the game of thrones so well but got killed off by a something she had no control in. She was the only one who realized Cersei’s intentions and called them out immediately but the idiots around her prevented her from making her escape. If wildfire was not in the game I have full faith that she would have made it though all the way to the finale she was just to good
sadly, she fell for Cersei's and the Sparrow's trap at the jump, but she was doing what she could to save the brother she loved. Even though Cersei... you knows... 'loves' her brother, I doubt she would do the same for Jaime
little behind the scenes note, hannah waddingham who played the “shame” nun (who by the way, has become a total british icon in recent years, im pretty sure she came up in one of your rating red carpet looks videos) actually got claustrophobia from shooting her torture scene where she was strapped to the table and basically water boarded for 10 hours straight. always cheery in the game of thrones universe. 😭
I loved the opening music so much that its been my alarm and ringtone for years 😂 I'm happy you now understand why we hyped these last two episodes as much as we have been
I was so sad about Margaery and Loras 💔 they died cause of the sparrow's stupidity. Margaery was never deep into the faith she was acting the whole time to get her and Loras out it was the only way she was able to. Let's not forget margaery is always a master actress haha with Joffrey, with Tommen and now with the sparrows. She had to make the high sparrow believe she was fully one of them. She even proved she was faking it to Olenna when she showed her their house's sigil in that note. And in the end she cracked her facade "forget about the bloody gods" she was soo cool in her last scene with her big brain. That episode intro was amazing with the music omg cersei slayed we cannot lie
RIP Margaery and Loras, such a cool pair of brother and sister, surviving all the crap from the faith only to be taken out when the faith had too much hubris.
Rhaegar was married to Oberyn Martell's sister. They had two children who were brutally killed by The Mountain hence Ned's dislike for the Lannisters, especially Tywin.
i FCKN LOVE how closely Brad watches this show coz i needed 3 times rewatch to understand and notice things he gets immidiately. scene with wildfire approve this point perfectly!! I'm in huge love!!

Remember the Red Wedding? After that Episode I remember a scene where Bran was telling Meera and Jojen a story about the Rat Cook! well this is how the story goes: According to the legend, a King once paid a visit to the Nightfort, then the chief castle on the Wall. Due to some offense by the king (Bran couldn't remember the exact reason when he recounts the tale), the cook killed the king's son and served his flesh in a pie to the unknowing king. The king enjoyed the pie so much he asked for a second helping.[1] The gods cursed the cook by turning him into a fat, white rat which could only survive by feasting on its own young. He was condemned to run the halls of the Nightfort, eating his own offspring. The gods were not offended by the murder, nor even by cooking the son and feeding him to his own father, for a man has a right to vengeance; what the gods could not forgive and cursed the cook for was that he broke the laws of hospitality and protection, which are held to be sacred above all others Bran then says: "It wasn't for murder the gods cursed the Rat Cook, or for serving the King's son in a pie... he killed a guest beneath his roof... that's something the gods can't forgive." ua-cam.com/video/x7oWcs_9_RM/v-deo.htmlsi=eF7v2riLSCYH8Pnq Genius💗

can we just take a moment to appreciate the soundtrack.. bloody perfect (and also the first time since S3E09 where the intro has the stark direwolf upon winterfell)
I don't see her as petty (or at least no more petty than any other Power Player). But she is a Queen, and more importantly, she's her father's daughter. I would expect nothing less from her.
@@KelliFranklinYeah I really like show Cersei and book Cersei equally, even though they are quite different. Book Cersei is straight up stupid and thinks she’s a genius, but show Cersei is just deliciously evil and cunning.
You were right about the opening music! This is the first time we ever hear the piano used in GOT. The piece is called Light Of The Seven. So hauntingly beautiful.
Raegar Targarien was married to Elia Martell, and you must remember what happened to her from the Mountain&Viper episode. Basically, it's debatable at this point, who'd had the shorter stick.
Perfect reaction to Jon‘s parentage. don’t look for anything else just watch the season and everything will fall into place. Dont watch any video till the end of the show if u want. It’s better this way
Not a lot of people notice but at the citadel the sphere that spins in the intro to game of thrones hangs in the library. They showed it when Sam was looking in awe in the library.
Liam Cunningham's acting when his character spills his heart about sheeren to the red woman always gets me to tear up. When he says: *"I loved that girl like she was my own. She was good! She was kind and you KILLED HER!"* Always hurts my heart.
Arya killing Frey is so satisfying that it's easy to zone out on the next scene but I think that's the one that's artistically superior. A beautiful backdrop of the snowy Godswood with LF in the shadows looking intriguing as ever. Sansa sitting in the same spot Ned sat forever ago in the first episode. The slowed down Stark music, like daggers to the heart. When he says "forgive me my lady if you're at prayer" and she dolefully replies "I'm done with all that". That's full circle to when Cersei scoffed at her for naively putting her faith in the cruel Gods. She speaks very little but conveys all that she's been through with her eyes: "The past is gone for good. You can sit here mourning its departure or prepare for the future". Just soak in what an uncanny road it's been for both of them! Out of everyone that's come and gone, it's these two who are still standing. " A picture of me on the Iron Throne and you by my side " 😈
The video is good and it is really intense to watch this episode again. So many good points: the fact that Margaery saw eveything coming, the score is epic, Davos and Lady Mormont give the sparks of loyalty and goodness, the setup is here, the reveals are here... GoT was slaying with the end of this season.
Just discovered your channel and binging this show with you, and the thing I love most about your reactions compared to other channels I've watched is how you actually pay attention to the plot. It's so fun to not only see you react to the jaw dropping moments but also see you put puzzle pieces together that soooo many other channels just gloss over because it's not an ~action scene~
your reactions are SO real, like i’ve made the exact same comments when watching. i was laughing out loud from your comments and this episode (like every episode let’s be real) is DARK. so thank you

Tommen makes me think of the Thomas More quote: I do none harm, I say none harm, I think none harm. If this be not enough to keep a man alive, I long not to live. He was a sweet summer child and was done a terrible disservice by being pushed into the Game of Thrones.
Watching this back with you made me realize that this is one of my favorite episodes, SO well shot and directed from start to finish! I miss watching GOT for the first time :(((
That is mostly correct, yes. Lyanna was Robert's true love but disappeared with Rhaegar (I think that's the name) and then Robert ended up with Cersei.
margaery was a new level of done for me. it's the way she played all of her cards right, and outmanoeuvred everyone and was the only one who managed to fake and outsmart the faith and played the game until the end and it's the way she KNEW, she figured it out and could've gotten to safety but she couldn't do anything to get her and her brother out of it. like... the panic of that moment sets me off so bad. it took insane green fire blowing up one of the most ancient structures of the seven kingdoms to wipe her off the board.
This and the Red Wedding were the two episodes I was most excited for you to see. I can’t believe we’re finally here!! You’re at the home stretch now, keep it up bc there are still plenty of big moments to come ⚔️
There was an epic meme in 2016 where someone photoshopped Tomen's head onto an Olympic Gold Medalist from Rio and captioned it with King Tomen, Gold Medal, Diving, Westeros.

@@CreamySaucy Yes, I think, Lyanna ran away with Rheagar, because she didn´t want to marry Robert.
Margaery didn't have another choice, what else was she supposed to do? She was playing her cards and acting and was faking it the whole time just to get Loras out of there, when they were out she would've had other plans
This episode has sooo many big changes and reveals it’s actually insane 😭
Tommen casually strolling off that window will forever be one of the most shocking things I’ve ever seen 😭
definitely my fave finale.. john being named king, cersei being named queen, and danerys on her way to turn it all upside down. great episode from start to finish. chills every time the music starts during cersei's coronation.
the soundtrack in this episode was flawless
ramin djawadi elevated this episode so much with that “light of the seven” score at the start. his contribution to the show through all 8 seasons is such an under appreciated part of what made this show the greatest of all time for so long. all he ever did was slay! in conclusion, i stan for life.
If Brad would have made his lights Green I'd have LOST MY DAMN MIND
its crazy that cersei had a part to play in all her kids deaths. Cersei having a part in Roberts death leading to Jeoffrey being the king and ultimately his death (also that she raised him so bad, he basically died bcoz he was a prick), Cersei having the mountain kill Oberyn leading to myrcellas death, and now her actions caused tommen to... yk
Lol by that logic everyone's death can be linked to every single character.....
@@Rash23215 agreed lol, there are a lot of chain reaction deaths. Just find it funny that 'Cersei's only redeeming trait is her love for her children' but her actions keep leading to her children dying
@@Cherryberryfruitt again as i said.... it's not just her actions, it's everones actions..... u can't say thats it's just her actions just because it fits ur narrative.... i can blame tywin for EVERYTHING that u r blaming cersei for
@@Rash23215 soo tywin rose from the dead gave the faith of the seven power then blew the sept up? he also had no part in king roberts death
@@Cherryberryfruitt dude tywin is the reason cersei turned out this way..... lol.... typical incel.... blaming women for anything and everything but horrible men like tywin are saints.... blaming cersei because joffrey turned out the way he did but not his drunk rapist father and yet not blaming tywin for the way cersei turned out to be.... u guys r so predictable.....
Tyrion never knelt or bent the knee for Joeffrey or any king that we know of, so him doing this for Danny is special.
RIP Margaery and Loras, such a cool pair of brother and sister, surviving all the crap from the faith only to be taken out when the faith had too much hubris.
whens er Davos barges in it makes me cry every time because the delivery of the lines are just that good, and I love Shireen she's so cute
Rhaegar was married to Oberyn Martell's sister. They had two children who were brutally killed by The Mountain hence Ned's dislike for the Lannisters, especially Tywin.
And Oberyn’s dislike for the Lannisters as well.
I remember when Renly dies, you said they killed him in the pride month. Now Louras dies in one day before another pride month...
i FCKN LOVE how closely Brad watches this show coz i needed 3 times rewatch to understand and notice things he gets immidiately. scene with wildfire approve this point perfectly!! I'm in huge love!!
This is the episode where King's Landing really earned it's name...
This is the 1 I've been waiting for. When you talk about how well a scene is made it the music giving you chills, this is the epitome of all that. Can't wait for this
I like that Melisandre truly sounds like she is regretting Shireens death, even though she doesn't wanna admit it.
The music in this episode was EVERYTHING!!! still getting chills everywhere after all this time…
The wildfire sequence is honestly one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. The music is SO good at building the tension. You know something is going to happen for so long and when the moment finally comes and the wildfire ignites... I get full body goosebumps EVERY time I watch it
Brad said it last time, the show doesn't allow anyone to feel that high. They will go with a boom, one right into your stomach.
It's a rollercoaster... after they go down, they go up.
Except when they completely run off the rails
For me this is the best episode of the entire series, because from start to finish it's just masterfully
The amount of GAGGERY in this episode is insane
The music in this is beautiful
such a good reaction 🫶 so grateful for getting to take this journey with you, and as usual, your editing is fire 🔥
The reaction to Tommen flying out the window 🤣
Remember the Red Wedding? After that Episode I remember a scene where Bran was telling Meera and Jojen a story about the Rat Cook! well this is how the story goes:
According to the legend, a King once paid a visit to the Nightfort, then the chief castle on the Wall. Due to some offense by the king (Bran couldn't remember the exact reason when he recounts the tale), the cook killed the king's son and served his flesh in a pie to the unknowing king. The king enjoyed the pie so much he asked for a second helping.[1]
The gods cursed the cook by turning him into a fat, white rat which could only survive by feasting on its own young. He was condemned to run the halls of the Nightfort, eating his own offspring. The gods were not offended by the murder, nor even by cooking the son and feeding him to his own father, for a man has a right to vengeance; what the gods could not forgive and cursed the cook for was that he broke the laws of hospitality and protection, which are held to be sacred above all others
Bran then says: "It wasn't for murder the gods cursed the Rat Cook, or for serving the King's son in a pie... he killed a guest beneath his roof... that's something the gods can't forgive."

Genius💗
Every time I hear the music for this episode I get chills. The way it was scored and shot is absolutely BONKERS. I already k ow I’m gonna have to leave another comment
I absolutely love your editing style. You have truly found your groove
Ah yes, The Winds of Winter. Great season finale.
WINTER IS HERE!!!
i’ve been watching your videos for a couple months now and i’m honestly obsessed. the commentary is great and you’re so funny i look forward to when u post especially when it’s GOT.
The reason Cersei says her face is the last thing the septa will see is because, when Clegane entered the chamber, he tore her eyes out.
can we just take a moment to appreciate the soundtrack.. bloody perfect
(and also the first time since S3E09 where the intro has the stark direwolf upon winterfell)
i hate Cersei, but we cant deny she's the real Queen Petty
I don't see her as petty (or at least no more petty than any other Power Player). But she is a Queen, and more importantly, she's her father's daughter. I would expect nothing less from her.
@@NovaLena22 Agreed. Love her or hate her she's really the true heir of Tywin Lannister. She played the game extremely well.
So hauntingly beautiful.
oh ohh the cersei being slay more than ever episode 💅🏼✨
Margaery was my fave character so this episode was extra upsetting for me.
I actually think this may be the single best episode of television that exists. I could go into extensive detail but its either this or 4x10.
Brad: shall we change the color of the lights?
Me: Green!!!!
😂😂😂
Raegar Targarien was married to Elia Martell, and you must remember what happened to her from the Mountain&Viper episode. Basically, it's debatable at this point, who'd had the shorter stick.
“The Separation of Church and State” A How to Guide by Cersei Lannister
Been years since I watched this and I totally forgot how absolute bonkers this ONE episode was
Perfect reaction to Jon‘s parentage. don’t look for anything else just watch the season and everything will fall into place. Dont watch any video till the end of the show if u want. It’s better this way
Yes! Thank you 👌🏼
I'm literally so excited omg this is by far my favorite episode of got, you'll gag for sure Brad 😂😂
Sir Davos is truly one of the few good people in this show.
The actor, in real life, seems like such a sweetheart too
feel like you're the only reactor i watch who respects cersei's character and doesn't just shit on her
It is indeed rare, sadly. But there are a few.
19:17 this is probably my favourite scene, davoss actor did such an amazing job the emotion . I always get a heavy chest when I see this scene
The video is good and it is really intense to watch this episode again. So many good points: the fact that Margaery saw eveything coming, the score is epic, Davos and Lady Mormont give the sparks of loyalty and goodness, the setup is here, the reveals are here... GoT was slaying with the end of this season.
Qyburn: Your Grace, that rumor you were asking about…
Cersei: Is it a rumor, or something more?
Qyburn: More. Much more.
The High Sparrow rose because Cersei underestimated him and he fell because he underestimated Cersei.
The music in this show is the best in the history of tv shows imo, Light of the Seven is truly a masterpiece
Am I the only one that always hears that old man say "will you defend yourself against heretics and apple sticks??😂
🤣🤣🤣 You are absolutely my favorite! The range of communication you achieve through facial expressions is WINNING! I Live!
I always cry when Lady Mormont does that speech and every yells king of the north. 😢it’s emotional I always think of Ned 😢
Just discovered your channel and binging this show with you, and the thing I love most about your reactions compared to other channels I've watched is how you actually pay attention to the plot. It's so fun to not only see you react to the jaw dropping moments but also see you put puzzle pieces together that soooo many other channels just gloss over because it's not an ~action scene~
your reactions are SO real, like i’ve made the exact same comments when watching.
i was laughing out loud from your comments and this episode (like every episode let’s be real) is DARK. so thank you
Cersei truly did THAT👏👏👏
Love her or hate her no one can deny she's such an entertaining character
I give 10’s when they are due 😂😭
My favorite from the all show❤
This truly was one of the best episodes ever!!!
Also whilst it’s sad that we are coming to end slowly, I do hope you continue with House of the Dragon after!! It really does live up to the GOT hype and expectations ❤️
Tommen makes me think of the Thomas More quote: I do none harm, I say none harm, I think none harm. If this be not enough to keep a man alive, I long not to live.
He was a sweet summer child and was done a terrible disservice by being pushed into the Game of Thrones.
My parents and I gather around the TV to watch a Game of Thrones video every time you post and it is always a night full of laughs!
"The crime of being fabulous"
BURN BABY BURN 🔥🔥🔥! (Except Shireen and Margaery who I would have much preferred if they had not burned...)
"He's going to be sad." That's an understatement. Poor Tommen deserved better.
Watching this back with you made me realize that this is one of my favorite episodes, SO well shot and directed from start to finish! I miss watching GOT for the first time :(((
That is mostly correct, yes. Lyanna was Robert's true love but disappeared with Rhaegar (I think that's the name) and then Robert ended up with Cersei.
the beginning of this episode lives rent free in my head, i forgot who composed the music in the beginning but it was absolutely perfect
thank you so much for this video brad, i motivated myself to finish my essay so i could watch it and i am looking forward to it cause this ep is CRAZY
margaery was a new level of done for me. it's the way she played all of her cards right, and outmanoeuvred everyone and was the only one who managed to fake and outsmart the faith and played the game until the end and it's the way she KNEW, she figured it out and could've gotten to safety but she couldn't do anything to get her and her brother out of it. like... the panic of that moment sets me off so bad. it took insane green fire blowing up one of the most ancient structures of the seven kingdoms to wipe her off the board.
I always loved Davos. But the ACTING in his scene this episode always makes me cry. He's a good good man 😢
This and the Red Wedding were the two episodes I was most excited for you to see. I can’t believe we’re finally here!! You’re at the home stretch now, keep it up bc there are still plenty of big moments to come ⚔️
Jon has never looked better than he has in this ep.
There was an epic meme in 2016 where someone photoshopped Tomen's head onto an Olympic Gold Medalist from Rio and captioned it with King Tomen, Gold Medal, Diving, Westeros.
