The warmth and non-fakeness of conversations just like how it would happen in real life, the camera angles, the music, the views; its like when you are on a long ride with a friend or family, really makes you feel like you are there too in the backseat and listening while watching the view outside. Thanks for the awesome content!
Thanks and your comment means a lot
You put it so well. They are a great natural pair that transport us to wonderful places.
Lots to enjoy in this leg of the challenge. I liked 'spying' on Halloween inside Elton while you were both outside inspecting sockets. Her ears were up listening to your voices, on alert and ensuring she wasn't being left!!
Yes that was a fun accidental shot!
One of the reasons I most love your driving sequences is there is never anyone driving in front blocking the view of the picturesque vistas.
They are all behind us;

It’s the first time I see a chihuahua NOT barking at anyone. Hello from Sacramento, California.
That’s because there are no other humans or dogs around!;
That fancy car could be a Panther .
When things go wrong, what can you always count on? Remember that in every disaster you may find opportunity. Maybe in this world nothing happens by chance, because everything happens for a reason.
I love to feel every step in the process of your trip with Mon Ami because you are wonderful persons who want to share your experience with viewers.
Thanks very much
The first local electric rock band used a Citroen Gangster as band wagon and with guitars, drums and amp on the roof it went well a long time, then it broke on the middle...cool video!
That’s funny
hi Tim, I hope you are doing well with that "issue" from the last video and felling much better and happy.
such a nice episode from the last Elton series, lovely gross mercedes kompressor, the hotel room is gorgeous and the views, my God, amazing !!!!!
lol, Mr. Boo face regarding the charging
Mr. Boo's expressions are priceless.
Thanks. Yes stitches out Wednesday..
@@MeandMonAmi Good luck and best wishes from Spain
@@MeandMonAmi & good luck from me 2,
@Sights and Sounds of Nature Re: the white classic car in the car park. You may have spotted a post from @larshelmin down this thread. Where he suggests this is in fact a replica vehicle - called an "Excalibur Phaeton, a pastiche of a 1930s Mercedes Benz 540K. Likely built in Milwaukee, USA, approx 1975-1979". Isn't that a gas!!
"Do you think Lenny Henry's been here." ROFL
That car is called an EXCALIBUR!
How are you doing Timothy?
Good thanks. All looking very postive
nice to be seeing you back on The Riviera
Thanks William.
I guess you need an adapter for the caravan socket then.
You can have either a compact, or with a short cable and an extension socket.
If the compact adapter is larger than a normal CEE plug, it might turn out to be a problem if the socket has ha door to close to turn it on.
It's an Excaliber, a kit car, mid-1980s, per Steve Szydlowski...car enthusiast.
What you should have done - after discovering that rogue Tesla - is drive into reception, offer your 2-pin plug to the receptionist and ask them to plug it in for you!
Also - and please excuse my thought tangents - when you mentioned 'Saint-Raphael' I heard it as 'sans Raphael' and wondered where he'd gone. Maybe he was banished and moved up the coast to establish Agay? 🤦♂️🤷♂️😉
That’s a good idea!
Mr Boo and his "magical knowledge " .....ha ha ha !
Magical!
24:29 My guess it is an Excalibur Phaeton, the American pastiche of a 1930s Mercedes-Benz 540K. This one looks like it is built between 1975-1979 in Milwaukee. The beer, Harley-Davidson and Briggs & Stratton are more famous Milwaukee products 😀
Thanks Lars. It’s funny my first guess was Mercedes but after that I’d no idea
@@MeandMonAmi On another note, I once took the car train from Hamburg to Frèjus. In the evening was trying to find a nice place to eat in the port area of St-Raphael. But I never found one, only tourist traps. On another travel I ended up on a hotel close to the autoroute at the outskirts of St-Raphael. There I found the best little restaurant in some ”sheds” in a industrial area.
@@larshelmin interesting. We didn’t have a food triumph in St Raphael I have to confess
Rade vs bay. The things you can learn on this channel!
Every day's a school day........
Great Video as always. Teslas ey? Unbelievable, driving one myself, this looks bad. Hope you made it to a charger. But more importantly, how are you? Did the treatment work? Did you get an all clear? How is the collection of funny hats coming around?
All looking hood. Final verdict on Wednesday. Hat collection is coming along a treat!
Sunset looked lovely, A nice way to spend an hour or so
It was!
Hope you’re recovering well🤞The hotel is actually in Port Santa Lucia just outside St Raphael old town and harbour which is much more interesting. Take care xx
Thanks. Next time we shall search out the old town
2204. Lol. Agreed Tim…😊😊😊
When you 'declined' to park Elton near the laundry room door to take advantage of an adjacent two-prong plug and then you come down and see that 'monster' Tesla doing just that, reminds me of the joke about the driver and the cop. A driver is desperate for a parking space so when he sees a line of parked cars and a nearby cop he asks the cop: "Is it OK for me to park here?" The cop replies: No." So the driver asks: "Then why are all these other cars parked here?" And the cop replies: "They didn't ask."
Spot on!
Finding a charging station is always an adventure.
It often is!
Guys I must admit you both doing a GREAT JOB ! I've picked up my Ami 2 weeks ago and is fantastic, never ever make so many peoples smile when I'm driving around city ( Bristol UK ). Keep going gentleman's , lot's of useful tips. Cheers!
Thanks! So glad you are enjoying!
Hi Guys, did you know a Spartacus Cruise ship carrying 1300 men is arriving in Villfranch-sur-mer Nice at 0800, on May 18th, departing 22.00? My partner and I will be on it and it would be lovely to see Elton and yourselves out and about in town that day, perhaps at the dock or your favourite cafe prior to sail away. How about an Ami excursion or tour?
Thanks for the heads up. Be great to do something on the visit. Let’s keep in touch
Good luck in St Tropez. I know St.Raphael and Frejus very well indeed. Want to go now.
Hi Guys . Love the channel
And would luv to buy you lunch let alone a coffee
But either of us know how to . Must be because we watch on TV maybe ? ? Nigel
Thanks for pointing out how difficult it is on tv where 40% of our viewers watch. We have a plan but in the meantime this link will enable you to. Thanks! :buymeacoffee.com/Timfountain
When the bartender/clerk is as beautiful as your server at 25:23, it would be wonderful if you gave us a proper look. Thank You!
There’s a story there
22:04 one finger is enough, you know, in Rome... (but we do agree) :D
Lol
On the charging front, in time, some third party entreprenneur' s bound to come up with a portable box of tricks (
Like the Bluettil ) that enables you to re-charge from anything - I would think the 15 amp round camping connectors have got to be a candidate for that . Sufficient to give you a top-up for an overnight charge. That would mean you be able to plead electrical poverty at the "Aires" and at least get a jump start from a camper van or one of their supply points.
Using the camping socket for charging is technically not a problem at all, there are off the shelf EV charging cables, as well as standard off the shelf plug adapters usable with Ami, and other EV charging cables.
The challenge is if the camping site will allow EV charging. I have noticed some sites have rules, to about power sockets one for RVs/caravans and not for EVs.
0244 thanks guys I learned something today…..Laurie NZ.
That’s Tesla drivers for ya!
Lol❤
Great, as always…..
Mike
Thanks Mike. I’m saying nowt!;
Excellent fun! Thank you Tim & Mr Boo!
Glad you enjoyed it
Guys pop into one of the boat chandlers, found in most marinas, they sell an adapter to use the 2 pin plug, male or female, costs about 10 euro
Thanks that’s a great tip!
16:35 After you said this I expected Halloween to look at the camera and give a knowing look.
She will in time
Another nice episode!
I like the purple room! I enjoyed all of Mr. Boo’s fun facts! The white antique car was extraordinary! Fun video! Love from Vermont
Thanks Rebekah!
@Rebekah Low And I liked that they filmed the REAL view from the balcony - of the front carpark and hotel entry! Could have got the hotel to let them film something more picturesque - but gave us the real deal. No airbrushing from Mon Ami 👏👏
Very good...
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi you guys,
Another fab video, Sunday smile time 😁, both are in my thoughts. ❤️
Yay! Thank you!
Nice video and some great Mr Boo facts, I'm going to correct people now if they call a rade a bay :-) Hope you're keeping well after the last one from Thailand.
Get correcting!; Yes hopefully get the all clear on Wednesday
Surely you could buy a Type 2 adapter which would allow you to plug in at most EV power points!
We have one but this wasn’t type 2 and the type 2’s were both in use at the hotel. The ami just needs extra normal plugs which would cost hotels very little
❤
Perhaps you should get an extension cable that ends in a light E22 socket, you know, like the stuff sales rep used to have to use their electric gear in any hotel room... 😉🤣
Ami would load on any light bulb station in a car park...
The car could be a Düsenberg replica...
That’s a rather good idea!!
@@MeandMonAmi Thank you, but i would rather ask a qualified electrician first 😉😂😂
Why don't these vehicles simply come with 2 batteries (like my electric lawnmower does)? Surely that would be cheaper than one of these expensive power pack things.
Because that would push their weight over the limit for a light quad and you’d need a licence to drive them in France
Absolutely superb video again. Love them 😊❤
Thank you so much 😀
Tim: I can not help but ask out of ethical concern....did you film this recently.....evidencing that
you and Mr. Boo are safely back home in France ? Excellent film and I hope all is well. :)
Antoine
No, was filmed In November as was the whole St Tropez trip!
@@MeandMonAmi honesty always pays !!
hope you are feeling well
I an Ian it’s all looking very positive. Stitches out Wednesday
Thanks for the trip and the Laurel and Hardy trivia. Their last film did seem a bit sad but it was also a good commentary about those of us like Oscar Wilde, who end up as castaways, sailing away to a Rade' in paradise, only to end up shipwrecked in a bay with no protection from the storms and all the doors locked, and with no option but to "start our own government" as Mr. Hardy says.
Your journey and their film also reminded the words of author Paulo Coelho, who after escaping from a mental institution three times said: “If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello". Not a bad film actually:

Is Portland that bad now?
@@MeandMonAmi I was speaking more in regards to personal escapes than in terms of conditions here Tim. As for Portland, riot operations have mostly wrapped up for some time but homeless levels, and drug related human misery and deaths are severe and getting worse, along with crime and the cost of living. Last summer I had people try to run me of the road while riding my eBike, thinking I was homeless (I'm one of the few non-homeless and people here who rides for pleasure), and I had guns pulled on me twice for riding in the car lanes. My next door neighbor was shot in her driveway and I had two burglaries last year. Chaing Mai and Valbonne look pretty inviting by comparison.
A friend who vlogs Portland pretty much covers the state of the city on his channel. He also carries NARCAN and has saved several Overdose victims recently. I saved one OD I found in the bike lane last summer:
Portland Man Overdoses saved by NARCAN

NARCAN #3
ua-cam.com/video/etoS0vMDAcw/v-deo.html
This is California but pretty much the same here:
"50% of the people in California say they would leave, if they could"
ua-cam.com/video/7TH0KA1-IqA/v-deo.html
Oh I get you now in relation to our paradise/escape idea.. You linked them all up very well!
Portland does sound very troubled now. Apart from burning season and traffic I think Chiang Mai is a wonderful place to live in terms of standard/cost of living and quality of life.
@@MeandMonAmi Thanks Tim. Wilde and Laurel and Hardy and your journey were an unexpected, linkage.
If you are not familiar with Paulo Coelho, I recommend his personal story and best, best seller, 'The Alchemist' in the vein of Wilde and Bogarde’ but more hopeful and spiritual.
Portland has been called the the depression and suicide capitol of America, and it's not just the English weather, It's also home to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I should heed Paulo's example.
I hung out in Chang Mai before it was the nomad mecca it is today and I loved it. From what you've shown. it may not be as spoiled as some of the old timers lament. What might be your recommendation for an escape be, Provence or Isan?
Nice entertaining video, but please do wear some sort of hats to protect your bonces.
This was filmed in November David. Hats firmly on nowadays
I fail to understand why there is not a universal charge system that works for all. Watched a poor guy try three different sockets the other day…..none fitted his car.
It’s a bit like usbc and lightning iPhones and vhs and Betamax Pat. Eventually one imagines legislation will force the hand. The irony is we just need a simple plug socket nothing more..
Another fantastic video thank you ☺️
Do you have a video on how you two meet? I think that would be a lovely story to tell ❤
Not yet!
Hi Tim, hope everything is going well with you, great video as usual.take care.
Thanks Richard. Stitches out Wednesday!
@@MeandMonAmi Hope all went well yesterday.
Mr Boo, (In dark, creamy authoritarian tones) "Of course there's electric charging" . . Mais, en Angleterre, ce n'est pas toujours le cas . . . Especially in Boris Johnson's constituency:-

Keep up the comedy, your place in the eternal hall of fame is assured !
There’s a definite lack of chargers there!
ok, so no interest in CBD, also fine.
Anyways, nice video chaps.
And, i would have just parked it infront of the laundry.
But yeah, i wont mention CBD again.
Yeah me too!;
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Yes you must buy a adapter from Schuko ( the one from AMI) to the Blue adapter three pin but for campervans. You know that a good idea for a trip is to stop at a camping site or marina they also use these blue adaptors. So you can sleep and charge.
The Ami has a standard two pin peter it needs nothing more than a bog standard domestic socket to charge.
@@MeandMonAmi yes I know that, it called a Schuko standard. You can buy a extension cord adapter with Schuko in one end and the blue three pin CEE adapter in the other end.
👍
Maybe you and Mr. Boo should wear derbies on your jaunts! 😊
Don’t give him any ideas
