Nice day on the river! Kids are back in school so I'm hoping to go to one of my favorite smallmouth haunts tomorrow. Those Hellgrammites are definitely on the menu
Nice video Frank. I have also been fishing the coal, a bit downstream from you. Been doing well, I like a 5" KVD unweighted worm in the faster water. Less snags. Walked up on a bear Sunday morning.
1/0 round bend worm hook. Maybe with a bb split shot. I like the heavier worms that will sink a bit. I've been hitting it up sprout rd area, doing about like your video, smaller size with a few 14" mixed in. Take care. @@riverfishingwithfrank
When I was younger I fished the lower coal in Kanawha co And the eighties and Nineties thousands of Times.caught virtually every species . Spotted, hybrid,LM ,SM bass. Also. Lots of sauger Walleye ,crappie and Catfish. I know the fish are smaller upstream but you might catch some bigger ones.If you use a more natural color I think those young dumb ones are racing out and hitting those bright colors where the bigger ones aren't fooled as easily
I can’t believe you’re not catching any redeye (black perch). That water should be loaded with them. Looks just like the small rivers here in Tennessee.
Good footage bud enjoyed the show tight lines

I use these with a ned rig,
You sure can I do good with the 1/16 ounce weight. Sometimes 1/10 ounce
Tackle HD makes a helgermit that I use and works awsome. Hard to use the plastic up. Give them a try. Love the videos.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I’ll have to check it out.
Nice fish Frank! Where abouts in the country are you located?
Southern West Virginia
you ever thought about trying horse creek lake?
Yeah, I’ve thought about it. It’s just a little drive for me. Is it pretty good?
@@riverfishingwithfrank its better in the morning for me haven't had much luck in the evening

What I call red eyes are rock bass here. I think I’ve only caught two all year.
@@riverfishingwithfrank yeah, I’ve heard them called rock bass too. Can’t believe they’re not there in large numbers. Looks perfect for them.
