What a great review of a Homeschool math curriculum. Homeschooling can be so overwhelming knowing where to start your videos are always a breath of fresh air.
I just saw another video for the first time on Saxon, which I had never seen before. This was really interesting to see an example from a different level and see how it compares to our math curriculum, RightStart Math. Thanks for sharing!
She does! Listening to an older brother do math all these years, she has pick up on a few things. Saxon starts off with review lessons then moves on. 😊
Love the calendar and weather graft. That’s it’s added to the curriculum. We do that in our homeschool too but looking for a way to make it more exciting.
I have never used Saxon but love the step by step format...I have been watching your videos and I'm also a fan of MFW. I ordered my son's 1st year curriculum and I was wondering if you can help me out with the difference between MFW's math v.s. Saxon? Would you recommend I supplement 1st grade or wait until 2nd?
Thanks for watching! I used MFW math with my son and then went to Saxon in 2nd grade and I just used Saxon with my daughter starting out. I think the MFW math is fine to use for 1st.
I ordered this up yesterday. I am brand new to homeschooling and I tried to frankenstein lessons together and it just wasnt working for me. In so glad I found your reviews yesterday.
I'm glad I could help! That is the reason I make these videos. Welcome to homeschooling, make sure to checkout my blog. There are lots of tips on there you may find helpful. :) russellslovinglife.com/
What a great lesson, I like that it tells you exactly what to say. Walks you through it step by step.
Me too! That is why I started using it. It only does that through 3rd grade.

Thanks so much for the support and encouragement! 🥰
I just bought this for my son thanks for the video and walk through. 🙂
You are so welcome! 😊
The weather graph is a fun activity!
It is fun for sure. We just do not have to worry about coloring the snow part here in Mississippi. 😊
It's always nice to see how different curriculums are laid out. Thanks for the sample lesson!
Thanks for watching. 😊
Great review, and it was fun taggin along with you in the lesson!!
Thanks for taggin along! 🥰

I’ve always been curious about this curriculum but haven’t seen many reviews on it. Thank you for sharing!

Mine too. Yes they are. 😊

I like those manipulatives. The meeting book is a good idea!
We love Saxon! It has worked well so far for both kids.
She has got this down! But really this does look very thorough and very easy.

The manipulatives have helped us with math so much! It helps to see it, I think.
My children are visual and hands on learners for sure.
How long does it take to go through a lesson?
It normally takes us 20 to 30 mins.
screw common core back with saxon
We love Saxon!
