We also quit TGTB level k after the second half. I ended up landing on the CM Arithmetic book 1 and it’s been amazing!!! We’re finishing it up now and my daughter has such a great grasp on mental math. Also, I think Ray’s arithmetic is similar to the addition facts booklet you have. It focuses on drilling the math facts (without a worksheet, it’s oral). I think that would be a great summer project for my daughter. To increase her speed.
I am currently using TGTB K with my 3.5 year old she is not struggling. Because we started with Montessori. I would recommend using a Montessori method to teach math before moving to work books. My daughter has great mental math because she learned the Montessori way. Math U See is excellent at teaching math. I also purchased Addition facts that Stick 🥰 plan to start in the summer
Your reviews are always so kind and helpful. We tried TGTB level K last year and it didn't work for us. It spiraled too quickly without enough practice before learning a new concept. I also didn't feel she was getting the conceptual side and I didn't feel supported to know how to help her. I always hate to say anything about TGTB because I think the company has a wonderful heart...their stuff just hasn't been a great fit for us. We ended up going with Math with Confidence and love it! I actually am going to get the subtraction version that you suggested because subtraction fact fluency has been tough for us!
We just purchased our math curriculum for the fall but my girl wanted to start right away. I didn't feel ready but she kept begging and we started this weekend and she absolutely loves it. She begged to do it first today!! It's called RightStart Math and it's fantastic!! It's games based and has a minimal amount of worksheets. My girl isn't the biggest fan of workbooks so this is perfect for her. She calls them " worstbooks". 😂😅 anyways it's so awesome to have that confirmation that you picked the right curriculum. When our kids are excited about it, that makes all the difference!!
I have heard SO many wonderful things about RightStart! I am happy you found something that you love, because you're absolutely right, it makes all the difference! :)
Thank you so much for all your videos🫶🏻 Something I was thinking while listening to this video about your daughter it sounds like a curriculum with hands on manipulative might just be it. I’ve heard of MATH U SEE, Saxon math and Math with confidence. Currently I’m in the same situation with 3 out of 6 of my girls and I’m thinking on switching to one of those. Blessings to you and your family❤
Thank you SO much for suggesting these. You're 100% correct. I have heard so many wonderful things about Math with Confidence, and may end up purchasing that to give it a try. It's really affordable too! Blessings to you as well, mama! :)
I agree! *New Subscriber* 👋🏾There's a point where if you're supplementing so much the curriculum probably isn't that useful. That's why we ended up switch from TGTB. It allowed me to get my bearings and have time to research what was best for us though. With having newborn twins, I'm not sure I would have survived without! 😆
I feel panicked because we switched to CLE for language arts half way through the book. Now, we are switching the math. We did order apologia but I am really leaning towards CLE but I’m so torn.
Been using the actually Masterbooks math for years now from 1st to 5th and i have zero regrets ❤ if you have read her teacher companion then you don’t know the why behind Masterbooks math :)
I am an adult with math related learning disability. I thought this would be perfect. For me to use for myself. I am using Learn Math Fast now. But there is not enough examples. For me so it is not working.
I have a strong dislike to the Masterbooks math. That was a real struggle in our home and was such a relief when we set it aside for something else. Great comparison video! ❤️
Same! I’m back to using all CLE but started the school year with masterbooks because I was in the beginning stages of pregnancy and needed something open and go. I feel like everyone was like…what is this 🫠 not a fan.
I hope all of you homeschool moms don’t mind. Me watching these. I am an adult with math related learning disability. Even though I graduated from high school. I still use workbooks from homeschool math curriculums. You and the author are correct it is not at grade level. In my personal opinion it is perfect for me. Or other homeschool students who are not very good at math. Also students like me.

Yes! I just bought Rays’s, and it looks amazing! ❤️
@@oursweetiebirdshomehow do you like rays?

Thank you so much, that is so encouraging to hear. :) I am so happy that you found something you love!
I agree. TGTB is so kind and I love their mission. LA is what they do best and Math K was a struggle. We switched to MWC and it's been great!
My granddaughter is doing Kate Snow Pre-school Math. She really likes it and so do I.

Twins! How amazing (and busy)! ❤️😍
I’ve been loving your videos mama!

This was me as well, so I know how you feel. I have heard wonderful things about the Apologia math! :)
Great video! Thank you. Also, what makeup/skincare are you using that makes your skin so glowy!? I need that lol
Thank you so much for watching. I will be sharing all my favorites in an upcoming video!

Thank you again for another fantastic video! ❤
Thank you so much for watching! :)
Do you absolutely need the teachers guide with the CLE math? Or can you swing it fine without it?
You can do it without it. :)
@oursweetiebirdshome this video made me realize I need something a little better to keep my 1st graders' math on track. I think CLE it is. Thank you 😁

Yes! It was a relief when we switched as well. :)
Yes! It was amazing during my early pregnancy stage as well! :)
Masterbooks math isn’t on grade level anyways. The author even says it’s a skill based math. She says take the placement test

This is off topic, but who sings the song in your intro?😊
I love how sweet you are
You are so kind, thank you! :)
