Hey Dara, Firstly, millions of thanks for all of your contents. I was at the side of horizontal scaling before watching you. I had really hard times with auction overlap and exponentially increasing install costs. After that, I have tried to open targeting and vertical scaling with 20% rule. I launched open targeting campaigns with lower daily budget to see if they are good fit for me or not. In 5th day, I am sure that they are perfect fit. However, when I tried to increase their daily budget 20% in every 3 days, it needs so much time to scale and even if it breaks the algorithm in the 2nd attempt. (Costs go over like mad again after the increase of daily budget) Should I pause the current open targeting campaigns and start new ones with higher daily budget or keep trying to vertical scaling of these current ones? Which one would you prefer? Bests,
Not the bad bunny interrupting our lesson! 😂😂😂 thank you for making these videos you are literally helping so many of us and I really like how honest and in depth they are!
Thanks so much for your videos! You're literally my Media Buyer Mentor 🥰 Just wondering with small budgets, what would you class as a small budget - £50-£100/day ad spend or more, or less?? And what daily ad spend would you start to think about increasing testing (number of creative, ad sets, etc.)? Thanks so much again! Love ya! ☺💕
Your videos are highly educational :) thank you so much for sharing! I just added you on LinkedIn and I noticed that you have had astonishing experiences and jobs in the past! I would really appreciate a video breakdown of your journey in this field, as a beginner myself I find it quiet confusing getting into it. Thank you!
Also to your point on12:15 on small budget set-ups ($20-50/Day?), how exactly does Facebook find potential conversion purchasers on broad targeting (no targeting filters at all)? Does FB start with your business category (for example clothing brand with a specific mission) does FB filter those who've bought from other clothing brands or aligns with mission first? It's scary to just put broad targeting on a small budget, seems like a random shot in the dark if the brand has a niche message too? Thanks for your help Dara!
SMMA in 2023: now simple Fb\tik-tok etc Ads is already difficult to sell. Simple maintenance of social media account is also not necessary for anyone. How best to positioning in 2023 and change the product? What better produce - ads, creative, funnel, content ?
Thank you so much for answering my question in the video. A video about tips for ecom brands with smaller budgets will be super appreciated! Quick question: would you say DCA is more effective than the "ad set > 3 separate ads" structure for accounts with less than 5k spent? In one of your last videos, you said that you prefer DCA for smaller budgets. Is it still valid? Love your content, cheers!
Thank you! This answered some of my questions. Could you kindly do a video addressing how to onboard influencers and running a influencer marketing campaign for a small ecom brand.
Great video! Very quickly become my go to for media buying content! I was wondering if you’d had chance to test Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns yet and what your thoughts/ results have been? Also do you give multiple ad copy variations for Facebook to test when setting up the ad or stick to one copy per ad? Thanks!!!!!
4:58 just don't exploit them, given them a "humane" rate. At the very minima, $10 is a great starting point. I know everyone wants to outsource cheap but please do mind morality and ethics. Awesome content btw, Dara.
@@gordilugo2776 ohhhhh fcking right. You think the average rate in that country is enough for them? Sorry but you haven't lived the experience so it's better to shut your mouth. Try to live here and I'm sure you'll have nothing in case a disaster happen. What you're saying are not enough for health insurance, emergency fund, etc. I've worked for 5/hr and believe me, the work quality gradually decreases overtime. Not just me, it's a shared experience.
Dara, if you were testing a new offer on a new ad account would you test creatives up until the offer sale price (or profit) and then turn them off if they haven’t gotten any sales, or do they need a certain spend/amount of data? €100 sale price for example. Would love to know your thoughts :)
Hi Dara! First THANK YOU for your generosity in sharing your knowledge with us. Second, I'm curious is there a place, tool, or app that can help track down which agency/media buyer/freelancer is behind running a specific brands' Facebook/social ads? I've been following a few brand in the apparel space and want to know who produces and runs their ads.
How does one get out of the thought process of feeling like FB ads just aren't working? This is a ridiculous thought I know because they do work, I've been out of media buying for nearly 3 years. £250k spent on the platform from 2018-19 but now it feels like everyone is so negative about purchases on META and you need $1k+ purely to validate a product even with a good advertorial and offer. Is this the reality?
@@DaraDenney Thank you for the reply! I don't dropship, I order inventory. This is actually relieving to hear as it's confirmation that now I know I'm not over-spending. Going to keep optimising and add more creatives.
Easiest way to get out of that thought process is to remind yourself that Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok are just a platforms where you are able to build an audience from and not necessarily a place where you show your product and turn those ads into direct sales right away. Imo I would only use Facebook ads for retargeting and then for scaling. If I'm starting a brand from scratch I would only use influencer marketing and organic tik tok traffic to test a product and semi scale it. Then once money is coming in use it for ad spend to keep scaling.
@@gordilugo2776 you can't even build an audience anymore because Facebook/Instagram organic reach has went down dramatically. Scaling retargeting ads??? That's almost impossible because Retargeting is a small amount of people...which means you can't scale it. And if you manage to try and scale it results would drop almost immediately.
Did you have a question I didn't get to? Ask me here :)

TBH I haven't noticed a real difference here. But for sub 10K budgets, I would suggest DCT.

At a baseline level. But people also need to stick up for themselves. The rising tide will lift all boats.

In a way, yes. You also need top-notch creative and a compelling product. Dropshipping on the cheap is nearly impossible now.
