- NOTE: This is a remastered version of an episode released several months ago featuring improved sound quality. It's still not perfect ... but it IS better.
Longime NASCAR crew chief Tim Brewer talks about his earliest days in racing at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, quitting school and hitting the road as a young teenager, the infamous Talladega boycott of 1969 and an encounter with NASCAR Founder Bill France Sr.
Brewer got his big break when he went to work for an independent driver by the name of Richard Childress, before winding up with Junior Johnson & Associates.

Man I love this guy, I could listen to him all day.
One of the best Crew Chiefs ever, Jr’s ego cost him some when he let Tim go after the 92 season Elliott and Tim had it together could have won a lot of more races and possibly Championship… Thanks for bringing these great memories back when racing was great 👍
Gotta love these videos! I USED to be a nascar fan. Not so much anymore.
same here
Same here. I bet I haven’t watched 200 laps total in 15 years.
Same here
Thank you so much for doing these shows I just love the history.
Imagine how far Tim Brewer would have made it had he had just a little confidence . Poor guy.
"We'll fix it in post!" Thank you!
Tim is the best interview
Brewer talking about Grand American Series, I traded for a 1968 Cougar driven by CB Gwyn in the Talladega GA race. I race that car in 1987, 88 and 1989. That car won the last race it ever ran in the last race in 1989 at Kingsport Speedway on the dirt. That car finished 5th in that Talladega race Brewer spoke about.
This cat owns Winston Salem
Tim might have a bit of an ego but the guy has been there and done that! I have a ton of respect for him
bit? can't deny dude was a rock star crew chief
@@TheTruth-on5zx you are right lol more like full blown haha
Thank You
When he said Mississippi, makes me wonder if they ran that track on hwy 20 outside of Jackson,it was a nascar sacntion race track
He needs to bottle that attitude and sell it.
Did anyone else notice how Tim jumped around from topic to topic without finishing?
He also pauses a lot, and then says something completely foreign to his previous topic?
How Did Tim Brewer Left Junior Johnson At The End Of 1992 Season Thanks For Uploading Rick And Steve
It’s on the podcast. He was basically fired.

He's a lucky guy if he was spraying Emron paint even with a mask that stuff was dangerous i know a number of old painters who are sick from spraying it
This "Tim Brewer" is nothing but a fake. I have heard some stories about this guy. After you hear some of these stories, you will never watch this guy again. Stay tuned......
