I get real depressed sometimes, and I've always been a huge NASCAR fan, and every time I watch these videos, they make me laugh and make me feel a whole lot better. I still find it humorous that Bobby Allison still to this day sticks to his story about the '79 500 fight. 36 years later, and Cale still went to beating on his fist with his nose.

Trey Earnhardt Buddy Baker.. Flat out WFO !!! My favorite was definitely the Grey Ghost.. That 28 Olds.. Racers would say that they couldn't see it coming one it had Baker behind the wheel and two, that two tone paint job was like an iguana on the track..
A Great driver with a great big lead foot on the right side! Probably the bravest Stockcar driver EVER, although Junior said Ol' Lee Roy Yarbrough was the bravest, maybe, since Ol' Lee Roy wasn't all there 🤷🏻♂️
Bobby Allison loved him when everybody hated him. I took a lot of shit for rooting for him on Sunday afternoon from my uncle's and Grandpa ! miss those days.
Saw him win the Ontario 500 race in '78 in the Bud Moore #15 Ford Thunderbird. Always thought he was the most talented driver of his day and I was a David Pearson fan.

We need to do this again but with the more recently retired drivers, like the Labonte brothers, Rusty Wallace, Kyle Petty, Gordon, Mark Martin, Stewart, Dale Jr, Kenseth, Carl Edwards, and Jimmie now that he’s retiring. But it’s more than that which has turned-off many: to me it’s making things so “even” by first legislating what could be done and now requiring teams buy these identical cars with nothing but stickers to differentiate them has taken some of the charm away. But more than anything, all of these rule changes and “shootouts” and playoffs designed to create drama and interest has turned me off. Imagine if every few years the rules of football were changed and now there were three sets of goalposts and you’d be DQ’d if you ran faster than whatever in the 40 yard dash, and the team names had been dropped and now it’s the Dallas Exxons, Florida Orange Juicers, and Washington Comcast’s. NASCAR going from the fastest growing sport in the 90’s to what it is now is not for no reason, nor is it merely salty fans looking at the past with rose colored glasses. You can disagree and you may think modern nascar is as appealing as it ever was, but you cannot say nothing has changed (even since the 90’s). For some, these changes really affected our view on a sport we were at one time really committed to. So sure, things change and a rigid grip on those “golden years” isn’t cool. But it’s more than safety which has turned many off.

@Slinger43 to be fair, Petty used to be the supplier of Chrysler products in the 60s and he would constantly send Bobby Allison faulty parts or the wrong parts and he'd have to use old equipment and most the time the car would break down during the race. Time heals wounds im sure but Petty really did do that and he also was one of the top protestors when Wendell Scott won his only race. Again, time heals wounds and he's expressed regret since, but back in the day Petty was no angel.

Questioned his ancestry? I know where my imagination went when Bobby said that about Kale. In 2021 you would never race again. But I miss those days
