    The light is very Challenging!! but its my first UK airshow of the season so I always look forward to it .
    Flight Lieutenant Jim Peterson, from 29(R) Sqn based at RAF Coningsby, will demonstrate the multirole capability of one of the world's most advanced fast jets at this summer.
    Easily recognisable from any angle, the BAE Systems Typhoon will be put through its paces by the Jim, treating audiences to an insight into the aircraft's incredible manoeuvrability and immense power.
    The cutting-edge technology of the Typhoon provides the RAF with a highly capable and extremely agile multi-role combat aircraft, capable of being deployed in the full spectrum of air operations, including air policing, peace support and high intensity conflict.

    The camera doesn't do justice to how loud these things are in person, when the Eurofighter/f-18 arrives everyone just stops in their tracks and turns around.

      YEAH! The fast jets are epic, I liked the noise the Hawker Hunter, not sure if they still fly in the airshows after the horrific accident at Shoreham. I would loved to have seen a lightening in action but they were all retired before I got to go to any airshows. Civilian, will never forget standing at the end of Heathrow runway as concorde took off at dusk. Epic noise and sight.

      You need to see an F35 display! Saw it last year at RIAT for the first time. It is a fair bit louder than the Typhoon or other modern fighters; it has a noticeably deeper growl that vibrates everything quite strongly. I couldn't believe how loud it was... understandable mind, considering it has the most powerful fighter jet engine ever conceived. I say this having seen most loud modern fighters.

      @@cjf614 Nah. Even as a proud Brit I'll say the F22 would shoot the Typhoon down before the Typhoon even knew it was there. In a dogfight it may be a different story, but it t would really come down to the pilot. To be honest, the stuff the F22 can do is ridiculous.

The Eurofighter programme is basically built on the the BAE EAP concept programme en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Aerospace_EAP and the UK looked abroad for funding partners. The French were keen to push for a couple of specific design changes and so went it alone. The French had a different requirement at the time so it wasnt a good match anyway, Germany, Italy and UK had the Tornado for multi-role leaving the Typhoon focussed as a pure fighter.

      I too have long floated the idea that Canada should actually diversify its squadrons with different aircraft (including possibly the Typhoon/Rafael/Gripen, etc...).
      Thereby negating the idea of relying SOLELY on one type of aircraft, domestic aircraft designs and solutions could be suggested and developed in the meantime.
      Could be a bad idea though at the same time lolol but better than the sh*t show currently.

    • @Abravenewfear
      @Abravenewfear 5 років тому +1

      Bonerus Maximus Yes, I think we should have more than one type of aircraft as well. Maybe a few F35’s wouldn’t hurt since it’s a multi country platform that I believe makes that jet work and was made for. The F35 is a jet that needs other types of fighters along with it though IMO.

    • @acward2007
      @acward2007 5 років тому +1

      Farmer John I’ve always thought the Gripen looks a similar aircraft and a lot less costly for both maintenance and purchase. I suppose that if airforces weren’t showing the the Typhoon more to the full they’d lose sales perhaps. I think we’ve yet to see the best out of this amazing aircraft.

    • @WildMorgan
      @WildMorgan Рік тому

      @@John-The-Farmer Really? The Gripen? Can't say I agree there. Great aircraft, but a Typhoon it is not. The Rafale looks more impressive in displays but that's because it has a faster roll rate and that in itself makes it look a little sharper. Plus the French pilots are far more ballsy and always give it far more welly and are more willing to rag the aircraft around. Typhoon pilots, especially of the RAF tend to be very reserved so Typhoon displays tend to look slower and more graceful.

    Pretty snappy and has plenty of power. It does not leave me amazed like the new Russian Su-35 though. That thing is a superb piece of engineering and appears almost physics defying.

      What new su 35? 🤔

    • @Sedna063
      @Sedna063 4 роки тому

      The Su-35 looks great but has a number of limitations:
      -It is huge. Like really huge. RCS therefore is quite large and easily spottable. Fan blades are also exposed.
      -It weighs a lot and the engines have to be big and thirsty, further increasing weight and making it heavy as hell. Really agile coming at the cost of agility only at lower fuel levels.
      It is deadly though for almost anything in a gun fight only scenario in WVR except possibly Typhoon.
      -Payload is actually smaller than Typhoon.
      It is brutally powerful but the Typhoon is better balanced.

    I remember when people where rubbishing this aircraft she's turned out to be a bit of a beast. Now of course the moaners are onto the F35, no doubt another aircraft that will prove it's worth. Great vid.

      Well said,the F35 haters will soon shut up and disappear when this awesome aircraft shows what its capable of.

    I don't think the F22 can Merge win against this, Eurofighter should hold it's energy better, but then again it's engines aren't nearly as good as the F22 ones

      Your joking right the typhoon is a baby compared to the raptor size strenth and ability I'm guessing yiu have not seen the raptor display

      @@79byob Ever heard of angle of attack, the Typhoon looks into the direction where it flys much earlier than the F22, it should be able to shoot before the F22 does, in theory.
      Or maybe I am just stupid af and would liked to be proofed wrong if I am wrong, so I can learn from my stupid theory I just made.

    what is the turn rate of this?..its super twitchy and seems to go high alpha super fast...and how tight is the turning circle?..looks insane to me by eye. thrust to weight?..it looked a bit loose in the quarter rolls and tracking dead straight throughout looked difficult.. as compared with the F16 which looks like its on rails..
