Thanks for posting this, I have an old Quantum E Mick Doohan Replica with the same visor mechanism. Like you I find it one of the most comfortable helmets I have ever owned. Followed your video and took it apart cleaned it up and its looking almost like new. Yes its way out of date but as I only use it on a little scooter it will do. Handy tip once you've cleaned the visor put a tiny blob of shaving foam (not gel) on the inside and wipe it clean with a soft cloth it stops misting up. I use this trick on the inside of my car windscreen too.
That there helmet is the most expensive lid I have ever bought, and I still use it although I know I really shouldn't. In those days, I used to ride around at warp factor 8 - and it's annoying how the onset of age makes one, 'throttle-back' even when encountering ideal biking road where maximum lash would be feasible, dooable, safe, and fun! Thanks for the tip of the shaving foam thing - never tried it. I used to use a kind of plastic stick-on clear vinyl inside the visor which had the effect of "double-glazing" the visor so it didn't mist up because there was an air gap of a couple of millimeters between the stick-on visor gismo and the visor itself. Thanks for watching #HowToBloke 👍
I've follow the video and all went on the right way, visor replaced. Many thanks, well done!
