The way he kept tilting his head at you talking in the beginning was so cute.
Is anyone else just in love with Aussies, like they are literally the best :) also just stumbled across your channel and enjoy your content.
I love them to
I love my German Aussie of American descent. 😉
Same
Yes, I love mine He is amazingly Smart; He potty trained himself at 2 months!😎😍
I agree! herding breeds are the very best. My first Dog that grew up with me through my childhood was a Standard Australian Shepard. My next dog and companion of 12 years is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Hoss. Herding breeds are such incredible, loving and intelligent breeds. ❤️
Just to see how Frankie reacts to the way you talk and act, tells how perfect your harmony, love and energy fit together.
the way he looks at you 😍🥺
Oh my god, the way he looks at you when your talking ☺️🙄
he is waiting for me to say FISBEE
@@FrankieToTheMoon 😂😂
Would Love to see when Frankie was just a puppy and when you picked him up
That video is coming soon!
he was figuring out what you are talking about in the whole video 😇😂
He is so smart and cute!!😆
mine is so hyper lol keeps waking me up early in the morning
These dogs are just the best of friends -
it’s amazing to see how much your channel has grown in such a little time!
Am really enjoying this - life with a dog and a normal human being.... none of us are perfect and neither are our dogs.... love and respect!
Love your channel. I sometimes watch your videos on the tv and my Aussie gets hyper and excited seeing Frankie play frisbee haha. Keep up the great content!
Your channel has helped me learn so much about Aussies and I really want to get one! Amazing videos keep up the good work!!!
I find your videos so intuitive and your amazing with explaining things. I love it! Please keep it up because I can definitely use it! Currently waiting for my future puppy that will be ready in April if all goes well 🙏🏼
Someday, hopefully, my aussie pup will be as calm as yours.
Thanks for all your video's, love them❤️ I look forward to many more. You are certainly right, you are telling us about your life with Frankie.
I’m getting a mini Aussie in a few weeks and am so excited! Thanks for the Q&A😄
This is awesome I just got 2 of them they seem like wonderful dogs can’t wait to have them home! ❤️
I’m getting an Australian Shepherd in January I am
so excited and your videos really help thank you
Gosh I agree with one of your viewers! Why is Frankie so calm and my Aussie is soooooo hyper.?
Training, different times of the day, energy, etc
Mine is hyper too! She is six months old - she has slowly learned to calm when she needs to. She vibes off me now - chill when I am chill, and playful when I am (pretend to be) energetic . My best friend.
I came across your personal content on Tik Tok and immediately became a huge fan. I recently got a mini Australian shepherd, and through research, your videos began popping up on my recommended. My little Aussie is quite a wild child and has some pretty stressful anxiety, but something about watching you and Frankie interact gives me hope that I can be a good dog parent and have the bond that you two have together. Appreciate all of your content, Joey!
Thanks for all the awesome videos between you and Frankie. You two have an amazing bond!
Thanks so much
you are very genuine with your explanations and advice, we just got our first aussie shepherd puppy and we love him. He's rambunctious and we have a long road of training ahead. But watching your channel has a very calming effect and I learned about the "stare" from you. Thank you and keep these video coming.
When you say toy, outside or anything that he likes he stares at you I love that I have a Australian shepherd too he’s black white and brown I love him so much they are so inteligente ❤
You’re amazing! Thank you! Might be getting an Aussie pup from my friend from Church that has pups! It’s such a blessing that we found a guy we know and my fam knows where we can hang out and get my dream doggo! My bday is in June so yeah, I’m excited!
i love this channel so much
You are right about a dog's soul....they are actually a member of our family. I really like your videos and it inspired me to train "look at me". Thanks! Keep up the good work and keep loving Frankie
love you guys to much
Watching this video now while my new 9 week old Mini Aussie is chewing below the desk. TOTALLY relate to the story about the beginning of crate training. Somehow my little pup took to settling in the crate when I would lay my thumb through the grate on her bed inside. Non-verbal but it seemed to help her immensely and its been pretty smooth sailing crate wise since! Thanks for the story and love watching these videos!
Great work. I think it is awesome you are sharing all this fantastic content and info for people to understand more about aussie's!
wow i appreciate it
I've wanted a Mini American Shepherd since I was a kid and I think I might get one this year! 13 years after I initially wanted one!! haha :) so cute!
I saw one up town today. They are bigger than they look. And darn: they are original!
I lovvee you guyyss
aw thanks for the support
i cant say it enough he is a beautiful dog and those eyes and your so right with using a different sound when in the crate yelling doesnt work another method i used is take a empty plastic bottle fill it with pebbles and when they do something like you mentioned i shake the bottle and my dog would just stop thank you for this post
LOOOVE him
Wonderfull dog!
Hi! We love your videos! Our little Luna Blue Moon is 9 weeks now . She’s a tri-color and she is full of life. We’re in Ottawa as well and yes it can be cold!
Aww hopefully we will see little Luna Blue Moon out one day after she gets her shots!
We have an mini Aussie as well, they're the best.
I love this dog, this breed, and this channel!
I love how you addressed the breed of him, I have the same breed and get a lot of rude questions about it.
Since you have the same breed, I was wondering, how manageable is the exercise? Because some people say it’s constant exercise whereas others say it’s not too bad?
It’s manageable, however i have a large yard. If you have a yard, not a problem. If you don’t, this might not be the breed for you if you aren’t willing to play or take them on walks constantly. I put mine outside unsupervised, keeping an occasional eye on her, and she will stay out there for hours.
I have two, one is easy going and mellow. The other is from working lines and you better be prepared for a high maintenance companion. Endless drive and energy, best frisbee dog you ever saw!
He's so smart! He understands everything you're saying. Thank you for sharing Frankie with us ❤🌟❤
BTW you are not giving incorrect information. There are 3 sizes of Australian Shepherds. Toy 12-20 lbs, Mini 20-40 lbs, and standard I believe up to 65lbs
Is coming my australian sheperd! But frankie is the number one😃🐕
More vids!!!
You mentioned agility I take my dog to a great agility place in Carleton Place (maybe a bit far) but we didn’t do puppy classes or anything with them just signed up for beginner agility 🤷♀️
Everything you said is true, we do have the same dog and he is really a companion, my son will walk him without a leash, he is so good that he will just stay next to my son while they are walking, and they are very loyal to their master.
Nice vid
I love your videos! 😍 Could you make a video or take a moment in another video to explain what is the difference between American shepherd and aussies ? Thank you so much!
'Aussies' is just a nickname for Australian Shepherd
There really is no officially recognized breed called a "mini Australian shepherd" nor a "mini Aussie." Too many irresponsible breeders were introducing other breeds such as Chihuahuas into the lines to reduce size, thus changing th breed. True Aussie breeders, owners, the AKC and ASCA refuse to even acknowledge the "mini Aussie." However, these dogs are very popular and there's nothing inherently wrong with them. That's why they are now classified as their own breed, the mini American shepherd, which is recognized by the AKC.
I have a 4 month old Aussie and I would love a video on how to teach off leash!! Love your vids Joey!
I live in Ottawa and a great place to check out for dog sports etc is The Dog Ranch! It’s not too expensive and i’m gonna take my aussie there in the summer for sports!
Do you need any prior training courses?
@@FrankieToTheMoon I didn’t see any required ones the last time I checked, there are a bunch of different levels of courses for each sport which is great
When I got my dog there were 10 to choose from; I could not decide, I was watching Them all play except for the One who had His Head on My foot and was sleeping, of course He was the one that came Home !😎😍
Yessss😍
Blake is my 14wk old aussie.
I hope he stops out at 35lbs. Lol...his feet are scaring me LOL
I too saw a pic of a bro and sis...chose based on hair coat...drove 4hr one way...met breeder with only the one pup.
Perfect dog...meant to be.

Hi
I found your channel a few days ago and I love it!! I have a miniature Australian (🤪) Shepherd myself and they are just the most amazing breed ever
I do have a question though, is Frankie still intact ??
Frankie lost his boys at 1 year haha
Hi!! You Sto arrivando! Beautiful:) how did you teach frankie to look you in the eyes? My aussie always looks at the hand ‘cause he think that I have food in it😂
Wait until they look you in the eyes to reward them
What research went into choosing your breeder? Any tips for choosing?
I share a birthday with Frankie!!!
How did you teach Frankie to do the walk through the legs trick??
Hi can you do a vid on the best pet toys you bought your Aussie
Yes that is coming!
Omg hi I am your biggest fan I did not think you would reply
Lol wow Frankie and I have the same b day
what did you look for in your aussie prior to buying it
I know it's been freezing here too! -22 :(
oh it is just awful!
My local obedience club (which offers agility classes) allowed me to enter into an upper level "basic" obedience course without taking previous classes. Send an email/make a call to someone at the club/organization. If you can show the work you've put into your dog, they're more likely than not to be flexible.
I named my mini Aussie shadow 😅
i love the content you are the reason im getting a aussie is there any thing important to know?
Just do your research on the breed. They are in the working class of breeds. They are very intelligent but do better with an experienced dog owner.
@@embertheaustralianshepherd1578 they won’t have separation anxiety if you crate train them
Understand that researching the good and the bad about this breed is essential. Aussies are returned to breeders often because folks just really don't know what they are getting into. My experience with multiple Aussies is that they take at least two years to really calm the heck down. To establish a Frankie to the Moon relationship will require a tremendous, tremendous amount of time and patience on your part.
@@embertheaustralianshepherd1578 thanks
@@prestagraber1145 thanks
Can you show how to teach your dog how to focus on you instead of what is going on around him? I am about to get my Aussie and I would love to teach him that as soon as possible
Watch our video called "how i get my dog to check in with me" and it will give you your answers :)
What is the height of your dog from the ground to the top of the front shoulder? Thank you.
20 inches. Thank you
I've got a two year old aussie who is potty trained and very smart for the most part however he seems to wanna pee in the house when I'm not home. He would never when Im home. I don't know what to do
Did you get him from Forestwood Minis?
I did not - i mention his breeder in this video
How old was Frankie when you got him?
Do you have any tips on how to discipline your dog and to not seem mean to them while doing, more of them understanding what your doing, If that makes sense.
Reward the positives vs beating on them for their negatives. That’s something I always think about.
Also, keep in mind tone of voice plays a large role
Thanks
my question is if my aussie that is 5 months of age is already almost 40 pounds, is that normal?
yes
I have a question what breeder did you buy Frankie from? I really need some help finding a Miniature American Shepherd
I mention it in this video, Follow Me Canines
@@FrankieToTheMoon Thanks. Btw I love you and your dog you guys are so cuteeeee! Keep up the videos they are so helpful and the funniest to watch. Can't wait for the next one!
ill call my mini an aussie forever, i like how it makes all these people mad.
ahahha jeez
What size is you mini australian shepherd?
Doggo
I can't tell who is cuter...
Are they really not good to raise as a puppy around a toddler? (3 years old)
I have 2 of them theyre reallly good dogs but super hyper and loud when they play. I could see it being a racket with a child around
I have one with a three year old and a baby (6 months now) She is so good with them. When she gets really excited she’ll try and nip their heels (trying to herd) but once you tell her no, she’s completely fine. The three year old is super energetic, so I find her to be a good companion dog for her. She’ll bring her ball to them to throw or her toys. I actually have a video of her bark (talking) as a puppy to the three year old. They are amazing family dogs and as long as you can split time between the kids and your puppy, they will be fine.
How can I train my own mini Aussie to stop barking at other dogs/strangers ?
If Frankie did that, I would walk in front of him to separate the connection and show him that there is nothing to be worried about and I can handle my own and we are safe. So by standing in front and not just yelling at him, it shows that the situation is okay. body language is way more powerful than words
Mine used to have this issue too, but mainly larger breeds. She does it with people too. Aussies love their families and are very protective of who their family is. So your Aussie is anxious and viewing others as a threat to you and their family. Blocking eyesight and reverting attention helps. It worked with mine, but she still did it sometimes. We got her into obedience training and she really got better. She still has issues with certain dogs. My neighbor has a golden doodle and they are not good at respecting boundaries. She’s still not good with him, but she does much better in general. I think the most important part is getting your dog out of eyeline of the people and other dogs.
Love the video's Got three Aussies of my own and a proud owner for 16 years of Aussies. by the way, you were sold a bill of goods. Frankie there is no mini. He's a standard Aussie, or the biggest damn mini I've ever seen.
Good looking pup but he kept making me yawn😂
I’m back
So what the hell is up with this new breed "Miniature American Shepherd"? Apparently, they're miniature Aussies, but recognized by the AKC. Our red tri passed away last month. On the wait list for a blue merle.
There really is no officially recognized breed called a "mini Australian shepherd" nor a "mini Aussie." Too many irresponsible breeders were introducing other breeds such as Chihuahuas and Pomeranians into the lines to reduce size, thus changing the breed. True Aussie breeders, owners, the AKC and ASCA refuse to even acknowledge the "mini Aussie." Look at Frankie. Just his head. He very much looks like a smaller version of a "standard" Australian shepherd. Look at some other "minis" and you will distinctly see the influence of Chihuahuas and Pomeranians. However, these dogs are very popular and there's nothing inherently wrong with them. That's why they are now classified as their own breed, the mini American shepherd, which is recognized by the AKC.
He is intelligent
Beautiful alert pooch
Your accent is like Peter griffins on family guy. That’s all I hear
The easiest dogs ever to train. I had a Spinger Spaniel that was well-trained but if I ever said, "cat" he would be gone.
E birthday twins my birthday is February 15
Is Indy a toy aussie? if not why is she smaller than Frankie?
She’s a female and dogs come in different shapes and sizes :)
Do mini Australian shepherds like to bite
A dog that is trained to bite will bite. A dog that isn't trained not to bite, may bite
I have found that when they are young puppies (a few months old) they tend to bite and chew. But I found trying to circumvent that with bones and toys helped. Now she’s over a year and doesn’t bite people or animals. She does nip, but that’s her ingrained herding instinct. You can’t get rid of that, but you can try to help modify the behaviors.
They are Australian Shepherds, they came from Australian Shepherds. The name mini American Shepherd was created just for distinction between the two for dog breed registration for pedigree purposes.
alright so we are cool now

@@jenniferdixon9707 so when searching for a breeder ...do you search mini Australian or mini American ?
@@ChantelStays Look for both. Just remember that the breeders out there who will market their dogs as mini Aussies cannot provide AKC nor ASCA registration.
@@jenniferdixon9707 ok good to know, it really appreciate your advice...I've been wanting to adopt for so long now. I have one more question though...essentially...they will have the same characteristics and temperament ? Or, the mini Aussie..because of being bred with other small breeds...would be different than a mini American ?
That’s a mini?
Yup :)
Fun fact: if you yell at a dog to stop barking the dog think your barking with them XD
So he’s not a mini Aussie? Not misleading at all your just working the algorithm bro. Fuck what the haters say he’s still a cutie though I just got my boy a couple weeks ago and he’s a regular Aussie.
Can you make a grooming video?
I don’t know if I can film in pet valu which is where I bathe Frankie
Hello
You don't teach them they teach you
Why are this mans triceps so big
uuhhhhh no idea
Why do you refer to Standard Aussie as American Shepherds? Yes, true they didn’t originate in Australia, but we refer to them as Australian Shepherds.
they are 2 separate breeds, I don't know the actual difference but they are not the exact same
The AKC only recognizes a standard Australian Shepherd as an Aussie. Minis and toys are recognized as American shepherds. It’s an AKC registration thing. Minis and toys are not recognized as Australian shepherds per their standards. But it’s the same dog breed. Just the sizing is the determining factor.
LIKE "40" THE VERY VERY SMALLISH AUSSIE . LOL
Honestly, you look like Andrew Garfield.
