Being Frankie's Breeder, I love when his videos pop up in my feed from time to time. I had no idea he would go on to be so popular. I have people referencing him when they contact me about a puppy. So cool to say, yes I know Frankie! He was born here. Look forward to more videos.
My girlfriend and I are so happy we found your channel! Too many other channels don’t express the love and companionship you and Frankie have. We just welcomed our own Mini Aussie into our home and named him Mars! Keep doing you man!
wow this means so much to us! thank you for watching! So excited for your journey with Mars
Your getting a new dog?
Obviously you have done an excellent job training him
Let’s not lose sight of the fact that he is extremely special
Very intelligent pooch
ahah he definitely came as a smart one
The way Frankie looks at you, it's easy to see how much your dog loves and respects you.
My daughter has one and due to job requirements is alone for months ata time. Her loving Aussie has been a best friend and keeps her busy. Thx for your posts.
What a sweet angel you can really see how much he loves you. He is such a joy to watch and I am sure be around.
Love how this channel's videos get consistent 100% like rates. Love you guys!
ahah thank you for the love
I really enjoy your style, your easy going manner, your confidence always undergirded by questioning and inquisitiveness. Great videos, instructive, and great fun.
AHHH FRANKERS IS SO CUTE AWW I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Your channel is so freaking helpful thank you!
I'm so glad!
@@FrankieToTheMoon seriously though, your channel has been the best channel I've ever watched! Tysm for the great aussie content!
Yeeees!! McCann Dogs is FANTASTIC.
A good relationship with your dog starts with play and firm discipline. Some people underestimate these two and jump to just hanging out and cuddling. Cheers from the east end of O town.
thanks for supporting!
Wrestling is Jack's (my aussie puppy) favorite game. Good to see we aren't the only ones.
Haha just guys being dudes eh 😂
samee
frankie is quiet because he is sure of him self lol the barkers are having anxiety wishing they had a great owner like you playing with them lol its always a pleasure seeing you and frankie
Frankie has become more vocal since the move so it is still something we are working on!
@@FrankieToTheMoon he is a smart dog and you training him frankie got this lol
We play with our cat
like that and right after she loves to snuggle. There’s something about “play” and light playful “wrestling” in mammals that correlates to affection.
Frankie is the first dog that I’ve ever seen react so fast to a call. Damn he smart
he has his good days and bad days just like any other dog tho haha
We just got our Mini Aussie 4 days ago and it sure is a challenge. She’s so full of energy! Also trying to bite everything!
ahhh it may be a little challenging now but i promise you will pat yourself on the back if you go psycho traino now haha
@@FrankieToTheMoon yeah, she’s now started to ring the bells to go out to use the bathroom and is reacting to us calling her name so now it’s learning to stop biting and the simple “commands”.
Hello Frankie and Joey! My favorite video of yours yet. This is so helpful for new dog owners like myself. Thank you.
Aw that means the world! Thanks for watching
your videos deserve so many more views. you’re inspiring me to do SO much better training my mini aussie
I love how he acknowledges your vocal/social cues @ 1:50 😂 he’s like “why’d you stop talking??😳”
Joey: your videos have been critical in our research as to whether we want to take the plunge and get an Aussie. One key aspect of your content is the fact that you present the perspective of an average owner (neither an expert or a professional handler) and you are unapologetic about the fact that you are learning as you go. This is much appreciated. Also, please tell me what is the tune at the 8:24 minute mark?
Frankie is so cute!! 😆
Yes he is, very much so
So is his owner!!
It is so obvious Frankie adores you and vice versa.
They are the most adorable creatures!
I just found your videos a couple of days ago. I have had my toy Aussie for about 2 months now. Her name is Poppy. She will be 6 months old on the May 30th. And she will be graduating from puppy class one this Saturday. Thank you for all the videos. You and Frankie are amazing.
very last seconds of this video we’re funny- Frankie Frankie Frankie those
expressions lol
He is so cute
I play with my aussie just like you do with yours, and she loves it too
Love your videos!! We are getting our mini assuie in October! Super excited!!! Your videos have been very informative and fun to watch!!! Frankie stole my heart!!!!
I have a 3.5 month mini aussie! Hope she can be as well behaved as Frankie. That leave it was CLEAN.
Did you mean McCann Dog Training
? I have been watching that in preparation for my puppy in 1 week! Love your videos!
Ohhh yes! Sorry I said Mccain like i was thinking about frozen fries or something
Nice home, very tasteful seems really nice for Frankie and Indy.
You two definitely have a great relationship! Really hoping to do something similar with my mini aussie. I pick her up on Saturday and I can't wait! I've also found McCann to be extremely helpful.
Fingers crossed!
Thanks so much for those videos. Frankie's simply awesome in every single way - I love him 🥰 I could watch you guys for hours. Keep these videos coming!
Glad you like them!
Your channel is so underrated you deserve to have 2million subs
I have been watching Mccann dog training videos. So glad to see that it produced such a well trained dog.
Frankie reminds me so much of our furry baby Storm. Great chanel! Always looking forward for your videos 😀
Fantastic!
I don’t want to be mounted by a husky .....oh, too funny!
Love the details in your videos. Can you please do an informative video about taking your dog to beach for the first time!
I have a mini Aussie myself and they are the sweetest
Thank you so much . I love the channel
I get my miniaussie wednesday..crazy for spending so much for him but, what a cutie he is!!!!!..gotta drive 8 hour round trip to pick him up ,but, what a beautiful puppy he is. ....the wait,4 more days, .............
Frankie reminds me of my mini Aussie who is mostly black with some white patches (Zeke). He turns 1 next month. Frankie is too cute!
You talking heartbroken about the coffeeshop being closed is so fun to watch as a Dutch person. In The Netherlands a coffeeshop is the place to buy your drugs, not coffee :)
...i just wanted coffee
Yes, my Aussie's herding bark is so high pitch, and he's 80 lbs.
Great video, as always. Thanks for the insight, advice and honesty. I am looking to get an Aussie to join our family thanks to you. We are taking our time and doing our research and home to have a dog in the next year or two. Keep up the great work
Aww that's great I hope you can get one within a couple years !
Thank you so much for answering my question. I will learn more about barks now.
Regarding the recall you mentioned.. I got recommended from a trainer once, to try out which sounds your dog reacts to the most. Like you said, if you are scolding the dog by its name alle the time, he wont connect it to recall so much... or if his Name just doesnt mean anything to the dog. I followed that trainers advice and learnt quickly, my dog Morfar (means Grandpa in danish, he is about 7,5 months now) is super reactive to whistle sounds. He becomes an automatic rocket launcher, once he hears me whistle with my fingers or use a whistle. Other dog owners say really pitched “yapyap” or clap hands, like you do... sometimes the name just doesnt work anymore..
I could also recommend, to start over the recall training with a new word/sound from scratch
I was just about to type what I do, but then i read that you already said what I do ahah thanks for watching the channel! I say we should all make up a new word for recall
Yall's channel is growing so fast!
I found out that we have a mini aussie in our neighborhood, so hopefully we can set up some puppy playdates when we get our own :)
Ahah slowly but surely we are growing a little community but thankful for it! Really excited for you to get some playdates in
I learned so much from this video
Thank you😁
Aww I’m so glad! Thanks for watching
@@FrankieToTheMoon Anytime
My Mom had an Aunt who had a Husky. We went for visit with an uncle and his family and and our Collie. We pulled up into their Aunt's yard making our presence known, Laddie was the first out of the car, then the Husky started his deep voice bark, and our Laddie was back in the car quicker than a blink!!
Yo, thank you so much for answering my question!!!
Haha thanks for asking it!
Wow, you have done an absolutely incredible job training him! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much!
@@FrankieToTheMoon 😊
Joey!!! Time stamp 3:30. Where do you get the belt deal you're wiggling into like your best pair of skinny jeans?? lol. The deal you clip Frankie's lease to. Thanks!!
omg that was the best way to ask hahah we use the BeOneBreed running belt!
@@FrankieToTheMoon 😁 Thank you! and Rusty thanks you too.....
those drone shots are always the BEST!!!! Frankie is such a good boy! :)
Ahhh thank you so much
I took the same route with Zeke and mccann vs in person classes. He’s UA-cam trained too 😎
I am getting a female red merle mini aussie and I love watching your channel. I am also going to name her Indy which I first heard the name off your channel. 💕
Adorable dog❤
He doesn't look like a mini aussi to my eyes though but quite a normal size 🤔 but maybe my eyes are lying 😂
As I watched this video you asked google the temperature.... It triggered my google home as well soooo... Thanks for the weather update! lol
Happy to help!
I love your videos!! Frankie is so cute
More q and A’s please
Yeah? Did you like this format vs just simply sitting and answering
@@FrankieToTheMoon I do
You do such a great job training Frankie! The dog has great eye contact, I bet you could train him even further. But, hey your ZZ plant man :-D
Love your videos man. I have a 5 Month mini aussie named Jax. He Is also a blue merle and has very similar coloring patterns. Hoping I can teach him to be as well trained as your Frankie!
So excited for you!
That's not puppy energy, that's Australian Shepherd energy. :D
I’ve had my mas Obi for just over a month and I’m constantly feeling like I’m behind on training or not doing enough so it’s a bit reassuring to see that you used a lot of UA-cam too because I haven’t been able to get Obi in a class yet
Yup...a pup's relation to their owner involves appropriate biting and tossing and roughhousing. ...from both sides. My pup uses her mouth to grab things and contend with me in a play-wrestling match....that's it. I don't hurt my pup and my pup doesn't hurt me. She surely knows she CAN hurt me as I have felt her bite let up instantly when we both grab the same ball etc. ...She knows...and so do I. I would not train her bite out of her.....and I would never give her a reason to use it.
Yeah, your videos got me obsessed with eye "buggers" too! Mine let's me clean them (begrudgingly) every morning now. :) Going after her front paws, especially when she's on my bed, is guaranteed to turn into pretty rough play! I know that look ;)
I got my mini aussie in puppy class, but I do watch UA-cam and I do lots with my Bailie. Sometimes we get to class and we aleady know what the trainer is teaching.
OMG If I played with my Aussie/Heeler mix like that……. Id be missing some body parts.
⭐️🐾⭐️🐾⭐️🐾⭐️🐾⭐️
Aw
So what was that chew bone? My Aussie loves pizzle sticks...yuck I know, but Tobias gotta have them!
I just got a Australian shepherd puppy
ahhh so excited for you!
Great vid as always. What music is at the beginning? Would you mind letting me know, i rlly like it :)
I want to be able to get an aussie one day, its my dream dog. I want to be able to have the relationship like you and frankie. I want to be able to have a relationship and be able to trust my dog. Basically a best friend for life. I was wondering, what steps did you take to train frankie to the dog he is? I don't worry to much about socializing because my dog would have plenty of that and I, as you said don't want to go to a dog trainer would a random lady.
Also I love how at 10:51 you mentioned his name he looked up like "huh?"
It's crazy how I live a few hours away from your location and yet we have about plus 10 weather.
ahah we are just getting plus 10 weather now followed by hella rain
@@FrankieToTheMoon Well that's the warm March weather you were talking about😂
were getting a mini Aussie puppy
I have been worried about my aussie''s anxiety. She clings to me when she is afraid which I don't mind I just feel bad for her. I have talked to my vet about it before when it wasn't so bad. It does seem to be getting worse. She is not a mini aussie so she is a big girl since she is 3. She does love her crate so that is a great thing.
love the videos, my aussie benji is having stomach issues with his food which is the best for him?
I’ll be honest, I don’t know your dog haha I would just experiment but sometimes it takes a while for their stomachs to adjust
Thanks you are very helpful, you and frankie are a perfect couple ❤️🐶
I’m tryna get a mini Aussie rn but I never realized how hard it is. They get reserved when their 1 day old
1:48 😅😅😅😅😅
Hey my aussie puppy is now approaching 6 months and she is well behaved but that’s because I’m giving her good treats everytime she does it correctly. Is it possible to someday completely get rid of the treats and still get her to listen or does the dog then not see any benefit in listening anymore?
Your dog is doing the command in the first place because they want to please you, and a treat is rewarded. It is important to also do multiple commands and give treats every so often. But at the same time, as they grow old we forget that they still need treats. They are still being good so they still deserve rewards
You can start to reward less and less with treats overtime and give them jackpots occasionally instead, but make it unpredictable so they don't know if they're getting any treats or not. You could possibly just pet or play a little bit with them when you don't want to give treats if that's something they like. Or if they really want to run up to someone they know like a dog you can call them in and let them play with the dog as a reward, but you obv. have to know that it's ok for them to play together beforehand in those situations.
Really enjoy your videos. I have an eight month old mini aussie. Love this dog! My question for you is has Frankie been neutered? Thanks
Frankie has been neutered yes!
Thanks for your reply! How old was he when you had him neutered?
I'm in Philadelphia, Pa
My Australian Shepherd is thick but he is 32 pounds and I just now noticed that their breed has big butts and big lips like dang he has bigger lips than me 💀
hahahhaha yeah they are a little thiccc
I have one dog that will come to me every time I call his name, but he doesn’t come to me on his own. Then I have another dog who rarely comes when he’s called, but he checks in with me periodically. 😂 every dog is different my two dogs are basically polar opposites
EVERY DOG IS DIFFERENT ahah thank you for saying that !
He looks so happy with you❤our Baby is His size shes 5 months same size tri coloured Woofs Sasha
Where did you get your hands free leash ? :)
Can you please tell me how much Frankie weighs how tall from the shoulders down and who the breeder is. I have a full grown Aussie and when she crosses the rainbow bridge I want a smaller version. I’ve looked online and so many looked distorted so the breeding isn’t very good. Thanks in advance for your help. Have a many wonderful days with Frankie.
Nice...
where is that waist chain for the leash from
what happened to the old leash?? your favorite one
I use that leash when I am regularly walking. I use the running belt when we are walking on trails because it is an easy clip on and clip off if someone is coming/another dog
@@FrankieToTheMoon oooh that makes since, thanks for responding
What size Casper bed does Frankie have?
I believe we got the large
Yo Joey, does Frankie’s Casper bed make him overheat? I have a mini Aussie and live near Colorado, so we get a bit of both weathers (hot and cold). Would this bed still be recommended??
Frankie transitions through the night from his beds to the floor to the carpet! So he is kind of all over. He has always done that though
Hey Joey! How big is Frankie? Height and weight wise? Thinking about getting a mini American shepherd so I’m just curious how big they are
20 inches & 36lbs
@@FrankieToTheMoon thanks!
How are mini Aussies when it comes to shedding? I can barely find an answer for some reason
Yes puppy class was a HUGE waste of money! It was way too boring for a puppy. UA-cam puppy training tips, and if you really want to attend a class, than do an obedience course later.
Is Frankie wary of strangers? I've heard that Aussies are sometimes reserved towards strangers. At least mine is, but that's ok because it's sometimes a good thing. I watch all of your videos by the way!
Depends on the stranger, sometimes he doesnt care, sometimes he wants to say hi, and sometimes he wants to bark at drunk men to get away lol
@@FrankieToTheMoon lol, Australian shepherds are the best
What kind of frisbee is that?
We use the Kong Frisbee
Canadians- -3 lets go play. Texans be like "Shut the whole state down"
Lol!
Are they destructive as people say they are.People say that they can become a little destructive when are bored.
They are destructive if you don’t train them like any other dog
I know that there is still a lot of inconclusive research at this point, but I have stopped feeding my dog the "grain free" kibble options that include things like lentils and peas as it could be linked to DCM in dogs. I may get attacked for this in the comments but I would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to my best friend.
Raw is better than grain free anyway
I think whatever works best for your dog is what you should feed them. There are some grain free kibbles that provide lots of great ingredients and some grain kibbles that also provide lots of nutrients. So just do your research and I am sure your pup will be grateful
@@lilyjones4289 Hi Lily, I can't find any studies that prove that point. I want to believe it, but the science doesn't seem to be there yet. I hope we fund more research into what we feed our pets in the future!
@@tyler4267 but there is tho. They live a whole lot more years and have healthier hearts skin and hair. There is multiple tests providing that. Please dont feed cooked kibble tho. Freeze dried or raw is best
@@lilyjones4289 Could you point me in the right direction? Or link a study?
