If you just start painting, and don't stress the mistakes, you'll get there with time. Less time than you'd think, probably, too.
And worst case, you can always repaint, strip the kit, or paint over any old jobs you're not happy with.

This guy is truly the best youtube miniature painter I've seen. Compared to at least 6 different channels I watch who instruct on how to paint, he is the most thorough and detail-oriented, and keeping the painting relatively real-time shows his entire process very well. I just hope his channel isn't dead since he hasn't posted anything recently... Please come back Mezgike!

This literally happened to me with the Space Marine custom chapter rules in 4th ed. Rendered half my *brand new* >$600 army useless overnight and I was finished with conversions and half way done painting. And people wonder why I sold all my GW stuff and told them to fuck off. . .
i actually am using this armor for my entire army since coming back to the hobby without a ton of cash it takes about 6ish hours to paint 1 guy batch painting regular space marines is going faster however
I never even opened my 8th codex.

He should have stopped at 20 mins. It looked fantastic then he covered all that work with black wash.

UA-cams algarithim blessed me with this gem of a video. Great painter, explains a lot of stuff that many painters don't. I will be sharing this one with my friends that are new to painting.

Love that plasma! Also "just put it on a bit of wood" is my new go-to response for some of the sillier accessories out there.
Really great job! Not only are all your miniatures painted and converted to a super high level but your explanation on your painting technique is very easy to understand and follow. I love this color scheme on the plague marine, in my opinion this is how they should look. I think the games workshop painters make them look to clean and bright but hey to each his own. Keep up the fantastic work!
The part about directing the focus/eye better for the viewer was great.

I don't think the model makers themselves could have guessed how insanely realistic you could make this. I'm blown away.
The vents on the back of his boots and legs are bending points to allow the ceramite armor to crouch, run, and bend. Mark 3 armor was tough and ugly. But it fits the death guard perfectly.

it took me 6 to do 1 crimson fist yesterday, and it looked worse than this :(
I mean, it takes me 2-3 days to finish a single boy.
@@Bacxaber I would usually batch paint 5 or 10 marines at once. with nurgle it used to be the converting that was the most time consuimg as all we had for a very long time was 5 plague marine sculpts. this meant you had to get creative. I would use like the odd torso or should pad, head etc from plague marine set and the rest would be converted from plague marines and regular marines.
we had a process of cutting the abdomen out of the plastic marine to sculpt bloat and stuff. (the bloated stomach was like a signature look for plague marines at one point) I've not done anything for like 10 years though, just looking to get back into it with all the amazing new kits and paints.
I respectfully bow to this great work and congratulate you on this masterpiece

beautiful! I love how you are starting with red and yellow drab colors as a base and then darkening up with the cool temperature of the nuln oil and other blue highlights/ shadows.

I haven’t painted miniatures or any 40k Space Marines for over 15 years and now I want to get my kit back together. I didn’t have UA-cam when I was painting and now that I’ve found your channel I really want to see more.
I was going to start collecting again till I remembered how hard it is to paint

Agreed with the comments you are by far the best painter/teacher on UA-cam. You should get paid by GW as you made me buy DG lol one question tho. I didnt get the light source method. I got the theory of light being top right but panels of the armour facing the light you did dark? Is it each panel has it's own light source with top right being light?

I always base my plasma coils with mephiston red, layer with wazdakka red, highlight with trollslayer orange, then fine highlight with white scar, for the OSL glow I glaze wazdakka red over wherever I want the glow the strongest and glaze Khorne Red where the glow will be very dull

the metals really have the look of some really well-used cookware. which is something I wouldn't have thought of otherwise but when you see it it makes so much sense
