The Faron Woods theme in Twilight Princess is so much cooler than the one in Skyward Sword, this has always been one of my favorite Zelda songs ever, brings back memories of being a 12 year old getting a Wii for christmas and playing Zelda for the first time.
@S00PAMARIO I know my basics when it comes to theory. Just scales and modes for the most part. Being self-taught I had a much less than traditional learning of the guitar.
This isn't just good, this is absolutely fantastic. It captures the atmosphere and the beauty of the original, and adds the heaviness of metal. Awesome!
@Shirobarai Yeah, I have my guitar plugged into my Pod and that goes into my computer via USB. I just record it into my mixing program, which is Mixcraft. :)

Ok, I can honestly say with every fiber of my being that this is among the very best of any video game song covers I have ever heard. It blew me away, and I cannot stop listening to it. I never in a million years would have thought that someone could do this song in this way, and yet you pulled it off amazingly! Great job! :D
@themouseinator Actually to prepare for this, I have the whole thing previously recorded. When I do it to video, I just record over the track. That way I have already mixed and mastered the track and when I'm done filming, all I have to worry about it video editing. :) So actually I did the Rhythm Guitar (Standing up) and Bass first. I figure I'd do the most physical stuff first and get it out of the way. :)

@deserteagle421 It takes me pretty much the full week to do one of these. I have a pretty involved life with friends and a full time job so I do a little bit of work on these everyday. I've had a lot of practice so I'm able to do them quicker and better quality, though. My first video took me two weeks to finish. :\
@hyperdrak It didn't take too long, I learned through tabs and stuff where each note is. After that I was able to just figure songs out by ear. I learned the modes through tabs as well.
this was one heck of an good sound.. i really love it.. and i'm have seen all you zelda videos (big fan of the Zelda games).. i can say that i love them all.. you really put metal passion in your work.. nice done and good luck with all your upcoming projects.
@FamilyJules7X Kool, i thought so cuz usually Zelda stuff revolves more around D and A#. I've also learned that me and koji have similar tastes in progresions and keys and stuff. Which could be a reason why i'm such a fan.
@FamilyJules7X Haha yes, my point was that the ones you recorded first were most likely the ones where you were just sitting there, while the ones that were recorded last were the ones where you got into the music and doing the headbanging and stuff, cuz while recording the first parts you don't have all the music there, but in the last ones you record, it would be a lot easier to feel the song, cuz you have more of it recorded at that point. Just a random observation.
Dude, I love your acoustic playing! It sounds really beautifull. Also the metal part sounds really good this time. But, I would like to hear a more heavier bass, if you know what I mean. Like tighter sound (more compressed) and a little bit more attack. Overall: awesome job!

Dude! Great work on this one. It totally keeps the mood of the song and that part of the game, but the heavy sections really add weight to it (pun not intended). The mixing last week wasn't too bad, but it was pretty muddy. But damn, this week's mixing is spot on. I think the only thing I would have done differently is made the distorted leads with a bit more reverb and chorus to sound a little more ambient, at least when they first come in. Once everything comes in it's all good. Excellent!

in my opinion this is epic , and i think i hear more than just guitar and drums , i mean piano or other instrument ( my better headphones are broken so i have listened to it with some cheap shitty headphones ) but i am just saying . also i must say that i think you made a good tempo for it , i think it changes from slow , to medium , to fast , to medium , good , i like it.
