Have now done this at home, and although we are in a poor TV area and I get no channels, our also poor radio reception has improved greatly. I just used some scrap 2-12 wire and some old keys. Thanks for the tip.

I used to use this idea as a temporary fix when an aerial went out of line, it worked satisfactorily but no more than that. All the World's Channels in Full HD Format is a total untruth and you know it. My better solution to get more channels would be to subscribe to a service that does give the customer access to them, there are ways to cheat of course but they are illegal and I personally would not risk it.

I made a homemade antenna years ago with copper wire and pvp pipe that i hung outside the house. I was getting channels from myrtle beach which is two and a half hours away. the one's you purchase in the stores are made with the thinnest wires and cheapest metals that sometimes they disconnect the contacts in shipping. A homemade antenna is far superior to a store bought one. Even this little rig is genius for an indoor antenna.

click bait. This is art, not science. Yes, 50 cm is the length of a leg of a rabbit ear VHF antenna, but our HD TV is on UHF. No need to strip wire; antennas can be insulated wire. Curly or straight, no matter. Building a UHF antenna is easy with straight wire and some tape to hold it to a sheet of paper or plastic. The "4 bay bow tie" design I made works 4 times as well as rabbit ears. A tree was harmed making this video!
