CONFRONTED by Angry Neighbor, DID he ASSAULT me?

- I received a message that a family really needed some help. The owner of the home lost their job, is struggling to make the mortgage payment, and code enforcement wrote them a ticket giving 10 days to have the property cleaned up. I couldn't help them with everything, but I cleaned up their yard to at least get the city off their back. A VERY angry neighbor came over and confronted me during this clean up. Apparently a little sleep was more important than getting this property mowed. I actually finished this yard in the dark as it took me several hours longer than I had originally thought it would take. Watch me pull 3 inch SLABS of grass and dirt off these sidewalks. I also had a couple other unique encounters as well while working, watch the video and check them out. As always, we can all "Leave a Mark". Thanks
That neighbor knew they were having a rough time and called the city to complain about the yard? Then complained when it was getting cleaned up. What a colossal jerk. Maybe he should have helped them by mowing their lawn rather than call the city on them.
Everyone has their own troubles. Let's not judge him too harshly. He works a swing for more money likely. Many people are a paycheck away from getting tossed out of their home.
@lynnbaker2087 Well if you turn someone in for not cleaning their yard up and someone comes to clean their yard up and it's during the day this neighbor has no right to be an ass and get pissy with the person doing the work. So yes the neighbor deserves everything that comes his way. Don't try to defend someone who is an ass that snivels about their neighbor whose yard isn't mowed and edged. And if he's not happy about how his neighbors yard looks he should have went and did their yard work for them. I used to do my next door neighbors yard work along with trimming their hedges at the same time that i did my own yard and i wouldn't even tell them that i was going to do the yard work for them and i wouldn't let them pay me for doing their yard work either.
The Sob reported them knowing they were having a rough time and then complained when it's being cleaned up. Glad heß not my neighbor. My late husband worked 3 Rd shift he wore earplugs so he could sleep .
That poor family to do through some heart breaking stuff to then have a dick neighbour who knows their having hard time but reports them anyways.. Douch bag ..

I was angry at the neighbor at first. People do mow their yards during the day. However, for him to say it was good as long as you were not making money made me if angrier. In todays world everyone wants to think about themselves first. That is exactly why what you do is so important and appreciated. God bless you.
@dariacreel4227 That neighbor made no sense. He just was angry he couldn't sleep. There's another guy with another YT channel who had the same exact thing happened to him. A guy came out to yell at him saying that he worked 3rd shift and couldn't sleep. The other YTer kept working.
But I agree with everyone who says what's the difference whether this guy's doing it for free or hired by the homeowner where they pay him? People can't make a living cutting lawns and trimming bushes? For one single day, for three hours, that third shift working neighbor is gonna have to put up with it. At least he came back and apologized.
It takes a real man to say he is sorry - all power to him for the strength of humility, and the decency to bring out a drink.
I use to work 3rd shift for many years never once did I complain about anyone mowing their yards. And what does it matter if he's paid or not paid it's a job that neighbor needs to be ashamed of his actions.
It was refreshing to see the neighbor apologize and show appreciation towards you. Especially to witness him showing compassion and regret for his previous behavior. I thought that was a very nice exchange at the end.

Rusty, I encourage you to come clean some yards with me, you will see that confrontation happens more than you think. You never know how you will react in a situation until you are in one.
I wouldn’t accept that drink from that angry neighbor.
I've worked 3rd shift and always liked the sounds of lawn maintenance. I tend to fall asleep whether it's the mower, leaf blower, etc. However I usually always slept with earplugs or white noise earbuds. The only reason to complain is if direct pounding on the building you're in is jolting you awake.
I love it…. He made an official complaint about the yard but complains when the yard is finally getting tended to. If someone was getting paid or not, how else was the yard going to get done?? The nerve of people, thankfully he apologized!!

These type of neighbours don't seem to grasp the fact that having a house with an overgrown, untidy yard in the neighbourhood brings down the value of their properties. The minute the yard/garden is cleaned up the value of the properties in the neighbourhood goes up.
Man, you handled yourself far better than I would have! 😡Somebody comes up behind me and jabs my shoulder to get my attention, they'd have been flat on the ground with my startled reaction...Trimmer still runnin near his face. I don't know about where you guys live, but here we have noise ordinance here in Lakewood, Washington that says we can run equipment etc from 7 am to 9pm. That is the normal "work day" so if anybody has a problem with that, like several of your viewers said, the city suggests foam earplugs and running a fan to help with the noise. He sure took it down a notch when you told him you weren't earning a dime from what you were doin. THEN He had the audacity to admit he KNEW about the owner's problems but reported him anyway. ((insert several cuss words here!)) It shouldn't matter if you are doin it for a paycheck or out of the goodness of your heart... newsflash... the world doesn't revolve around him. Ugh people like that irk the crap outta me. He came back to apologize and got you something to drink.. you were kind enough to shake his hand and thank him for his kindness. Neighbors can’t stop you from mowing In the day time. CANT make noise after 10 where I live. People get so jealous when they know you are doing something free for some one..
the neighbor apologized after he found out he was doing the work for free. He then came back with a drink later for the guy. He made a mistake, apologized, and brought the guy doing the work a drink. I'm giving him credit for realizing his mistake.
3 inches of dirt on the sidewalk is what happens when the owners fall for the idea that they should top dress 1/4" of topsoil every year, and they do it for many years. Now they need someone to come in and scrape several cubic yards of topsoil and haul it away.
What irked me the most, aside from the neighbour's whole attitude, is the fact he walked up behind you and tapped you on the shoulder while you're operating machinery. ALWAYS approach someone head on to get their attention. If that's not possible, then wait to the side and wave your hand or yell.

In my 85 yrs I find people are just hard hearted and cruel. Couldn't the community have a picnic while cleaning up this property? I bet many of the neighbors go too church every Wed and Sun.

Could you imagine, trying to cleanup these overgrown properties AT NIGHT? Then even more people sleeping, and the types of weirdos you encounter? Unless the homeowner refuses help, ANY neighbor could have mowed BEFORE the grass was a foot tall.
I see this in alot of these videos. I work third shift for a decade and never have I thought people need to change their actions so I can sleep.
I work nights, and not once, did I expect my neighbors to change their life to suit my schedule!!

I work 3rd shift. I have never complained about people making too much noise. Yes, it can be annoying but that’s just part of working the shift. He’s aware of his neighbor being on tough times and reports them instead of trying to help out?

I dont work third shift but i do go to bed by 8pm so I can get up at 215am. I wear ear plugs bc my neighbours will mow do all sorts of stuff till after 9pm. Even when i get to take a nap during the day, ear plugs bc it's during the day, when 90% of other people are awake. That dude was a DB bc he admitted he called the city on his neighbours.
The city should definitely fine people that don’t take care of their own property not only is it an eye sore to the neighborhood but it also attracts unwanted rodents, but if I was the neighbor I would help them out for sure

No city should be fining someone who is already getting foreclosed upon. There needs to be more people like this guy in the world. I once had a city douche stop and tell me I was shoveling my snow wrong, he got a shovel full of snow threw his car window and never bothered me again, the shovel was going to meet his head the next time. Some people just feel the need to be an asshole, if you’re not stopping to help, shut up and keep moving.

I have worked 3rd shift jobs before and I would never go to a neighbor during the middle of the day to complain about them cutting grass and cleaning up their yard. Its called deal with regular day activity noise and mind your own business.
This confrontation was clearly set up, the naivety level to think otherwise is the reason our world is in a mess, there’s no hope.
But to be fair, he was remorseful, came back and gave him a drink... I work 3rd Shift as a nurse had children was always desperate to remain sleep as long as I could & at times irritable.

My neighbors were away on vacation and their grass was getting overgrown . The weeds were getting to be about 2-3ft tall. I went over and cut their grass for them because it was starting to look obvious that nobody was home . I wanted to make it look at least like somebody was watching the place so that someone looking for an easy break in would maybe think twice . When they got back, the husband called my wife and asked if I had cut their grass . My wife said I had , and he said his wife didn't want me cutting their grass because she felt I was "encroaching on their property" . No , Thanks for cutting our grass, but..... or anything like that .
On the other hand, when I am cutting my grass, I will cut my next 3 neighbors yards for them or if they beat me to it, they will cut their yard and mine . We help each other out .

When i was injured, i had people knocking on my door asking if i needed help with my lawn. Watchibg someone get evicted and their house taken, and lost their job, what kind of neighbors did this family have. God bless you sir.
Sure....You can see the neighboring homes well kept but not one of them moved a finger to volunteer and go mow the lawn of those in dire straits ! Most people have become too selfish and with a heart hard as rock these days. The whole society is crumbling with every passing year.

I used to work 3rd shift, or graveyard shift as we called it, quite a bit and what Captain Grouch needs is blacked out windows and sound deadening in his room. The world does not stop because you are trying to sleep.
My DH and I worked all night, got off at 7AM and idiots would be calling and banging on our door at 10 or 11AM, then someone started building houses across the road. I can't say that man was wrong for being upset, it's tough working at night and trying to sleep during the day when everyone else is up and making noises.
@@maryr7800 yes, phone calls and door bangers were pests. There were not cell phones then and we left it to the answering machine. With the darked out room with sound insulation I slept good. The key was not to switch back on days off, I still would stay awake at night and sleep days.

When I worked the 3rd shift, box fans were my best friend. Kept bedroom cool and the sound of the fan not only relaxed me but drowned out any outside noise.
There are always earplugs.
Day sleepers need a fan in their bedroom.
Box fans aren't usually loud enough to drown out yardwork noise. I use my Echo Dot to play loud fan noises and sleep like a baby, and Echo Dots, cost $50 - $60. Neighbor needs to be more compassionate and probably think a little more resourcefully.
Earplugs help. So does a blindfold and white noise.

Well, you can’t mow the grass during night when he’s at work. I should think as long as you begin at a reasonable time, say no earlier than 9 a.m. there should be no problem with grass cutting noise in a neighbourhood.

Ugh, makes me so mad... families are struggling to just live. Such hard times for good people. The mortgage companies should walk in their clients shoes. My heart goes out to all those in this situation 💔. I have 30 acres in Virginia, I've allowed numerous families shelter and a beginning. This home is absolutely lovely, tlc needed but heck they all need a face lift. THANK YOU for adding some love to this home, the family will see a blessing, and remember a real lived home

My husband does yard work on the side and it’s so satisfying when customers compliment him. Sometimes they give extra. You’re doing a great service. I love the before and after.

Wow. That neighbour's is a goof. He even knew the people were struggling and hes just worried about himself. Free or paid service, people are allowed to do things during the day. I hope that guys sees the comments and changes his attitude.

I don't think he was being a jerk. He was just concerned about the noise and having to go to his job on third shift without getting any sleep. Sadly some have no choice but to work at night while everyone else sleeps. And, he did apologize.
A very good neighbor. If someone is bothered by the noise then just bear with it for a couple of hours. This man is doing a great service. This is hard work.
