    Using a gunstock when playing VR shooters, in my opinion, is one of the best ways to improve stability and accuracy and improve your aim. But there's a lot of different types of gunstocks to choose from and how do you know which one is right for you. Well it really depends on what type of experience you're looking for. If you're wanting the most realistic simulation possible then you're going to want a completely different type of stock than if you're wanting to play online where you need to not only be accurate but fast when switching between your sidearm and other equipment like grenades and other things. In this video I go over the 3 different types of VR gun stocks currently on the market (i.e. Top Rail, Bottom Rail and Fixed Stock designs) and briefly talk about the strengths and weaknesses of each and which type of stock is best depending on the VR experience you're looking for.

    I recommend that everyone takes a few minutes to learn how to properly sling your weapon and use the sling to brace. After making my own stock yesterday it takes some work, and I personally prefer the ability to remove both of my joysticks quickly because of onward.
    I rigged up a bottom mounted stock at first, but then switched to the base of the controllers mounted on top, it works that much better and I can intuitively pull the sticks out to reload, use a sidearm or piece of equipment and then return to my sling. I also have a fixed bipod on the front for going prone, but have found that taking the sling off for prone sniping is most convenient as I need the sling tight to use as a brace.

    You can customize the CQB to function similar to The wolverine by using the little elastic band for the front front grip and placing it on the back grip while sliding the back controller in far enough to hold the controller stable but exposing the button so you can grip your weapon. The reason why I tried it like this was because every time I went to grab my gun stock and gun in game they never lined up because of where the gun in game sits which made it slower for me to get engaged in a gun fight. All I did was slide the piece on to the back put my grip strap all the way through it then slid the controller into the elastic band afterwards reattaching the strap so that my hand was secure and holding the gun stock

    Listen homie. Could you maybe do a video about the pros and cons of various VR systems currently available and go over their capabilities? Ive been waiting on them to improve the tech before I considered spending any money. Also would it be possible for you to maybe discuss the ergonomics of playing these things? Playing some games with a traditional controller has recently become somewhat problematic regarding pain and discomfort. Would be really interested to hear some feedback on how much work these things actually put on the hands.

    ok as a professional vr fps player and stock user the easiest way not to have to fumble around looking for your stock is to always keep 1 controller attached in game like contractors its really easy to do same for onward since pistol are rarely used for pavlov and breachers youll only use pistol for first round or eco round so isnt that big of a deal either magnets gives you the best reload speed once you get use to them and a properly balanced gunstock is key mamut vr have the wasp 3 apto or something like this which even tho its solid af like you wont break it the buttstock is also stupidly heavy compare to most other gunstock making handling weird at times

      You really can't go wrong with either one they're both fantastic stocks. If you use lots of bolt action guns in games then I would go with the CQB, however if you rarely or never use bolt actions then I'd recommend the Wolverine.
      At the same time Falandorn has been continuing to make tweaks and improvements to his stocks and the CQB has a new feature allowing it to easily and much better simulate guns like the P90 and the Vector which put your hands really close together. The Wolverine can do this too but it requires you removing parts if you have the DMR or undoing a retention screw on the Ultra-Lite and moving the rear controller dock forward. The new CQB has a thumb wheel you loosen and then you slide your rear hand forward and then lock it back in place. Easy, peasy.

      Kobra VR discontinued the CQB shortly after the Quest 3 came out because people were buying it to use with the Quest 3 controllers, however because of the difference in how the Quest 3 controllers are tracked compared to the Quest 2, the alignment was all wrong. KobraVR's number one mission is customer satisfaction, and as you can surely guess, people were complaining about how the alignment was bad with Quest 3 even though KobraVR's Etsy listing expressly stated the CQB was for the Quest 2 only. KobraVR was of course hard at work on a stock for the Quest 3 as soon as it launched, which is now available (if you're looking for a stock for the Quest 3, check out their Blitzer and Mag-Lock Ultra stocks), but to avoid confusion and unhappy customers they removed the CQB from their store and at this point haven't yet brought it back. And also at this point, I don't know if they will.

      It's only temporarily unavailable. My guess is the CQB will be back up once they get caught up on the Wolverine orders.

    • @Maraksot78
      @Maraksot78  2 роки тому

      You can buy from whoever you like, I just did a lot of research before buying my first stock and Kobra VR has what I feel are the best designs I've seen (this is of course just my opinion). I really like their grip handle designs a lot. I feel they're way easier/quicker to use than the stocks where you're trying to stick your controller into a friction fit cup or even snap onto a magnetic dock while you're blind in your headset. They provide a very immersive/natural experience. While I've never tried a Pro Tube it's design is quite similar to the CQB and I'm sure is a good stock. But again I prefer Kobra VR's grip handles over the magnetic attachment. The main point I was trying to make with this video is no matter the brand, there are essentially three different general types of VR gunstocks and each one has their strengths and weaknesses. My hope was to let people who've never used a stock before know about things like tracking occlusion and the difference between grip handles and magnetic docks and what not and then let them make up their mind what they want to buy whether that be a Pro Tube, SanLaki, Deadshot Elite, Kobra or whatever. I personally only own Kobra stocks so that's what I have to show off.

      Kobra VR is a small company, just Falandorn (the creator) and his wife. Because of the popularity of the Quest 2 they've been getting so many orders they're having a difficult time keeping up and had to pause taking new orders for a bit to get caught up. It was reaching the point people were having to wait 6 to 8 weeks for their gunstocks to be made and delivered and the wait time was only getting longer and longer, so even though they didn't necessarily want to, they paused orders to get caught up. I believe they're resuming orders on the 27th or 28th though so just a few more days.

      @@dirtsapient9638 Yes. I recently ordered the SMG even though I'm expecting a long wait. I did about a week's worth of research into all the current stocks being produced. If you want one quickly, probably best to go with ProTube. From what I can tell it's very reliable and a lot of pros use these. If you want a cheaper version of the ProTube, I recommend a Modus, but their latest version (V3) was sold out last time I checked. Honestly, the Modus is probably better value for your money over the ProTube. It seems to have better stability and is more adjustable since it has two front grip spots. Another option is the Bowk Stock, which was specifically designed for Onward and has the best stability out of all the stocks I researched. The reason I didn't go with any of these was because their designs hamper your utility/reload speed; however, that can be improved through lots of practice. I ended up deciding between a Kobra Wolverine and Deadshot Elite V2.9 with Freedom Grip, because they seemed to have a better focus on utility/reload speeds. The main reason I went with the Kobra SMG over the DSE V2.9 is I think the freedom grip would cause cramping with long periods of use. DSE is also one of the heavier stocks I believe, which may not be great for long play times. Another option that I honestly don't recommend would be a Virtual Rifle Systems stock. It is probably the worst stock in terms of occlusion, which means you will run into aiming issues if your headset fails to pickup the controller sensors. They are also expensive as hell, but their newest version may be the most well built stock due to using injection molding rather than 3D parts. Finally, another great thing about Kobra is the owner is very responsive and will help you decide on their best model that fits your specific needs. I hope this helps!

The Kobra Wolverine is just some extra 3D printed parts added to the Ultra-Lite for the most part (here's my review of the Wolverine & Ultra-Lite ua-cam.com/video/HNentMNPsyc/v-deo.html ). Since making this video Kobra has created even more gunstocks, like the Sidewinder which is basically the Ultra-Lite with a hinge in the middle so you can collapse it down (here's a link to my review of it if you're interested ua-cam.com/video/KfLp3SdIypM/v-deo.html ) and they've created a stock for the PSVR2 called the Vader One (here's that video if you're curious ua-cam.com/video/82OlMcLAU_4/v-deo.html ). Kobra VR also recently teased a new stock for the Quest 2 that's a mix of the Vader One and the Wolverine for the Quest 2 ( ua-cam.com/video/oWKffS1jUQc/v-deo.html )... which I may or may not be working on a review for right now... 😉

      Yup pricing can get ridiculous for a obviously very cheap quality. I buy VRifle-3d. Cheap price. You can also send in your own designs to print.

    This is better. lol - protube prorevolver and smg extention that can mount to AR protube with proforce stock. I went crazy and got a pro tube, with a kinetic pro-revolver, with an SMG extension attachment, with a force tube kinetic rifle kick stock. so I'll go from AR, to SMG, to Revolver , all with magnets, and back with kickback all the way. Crazy. silly purchase but I couldn't hit shit with virtual stock and I think the input will make the game way more immersive. Decent resell value too so I figure .... but it was like 800 I think protube is better then these.

      @@Maraksot78 Yeah I reached out on Etsy. Frankly I don't see why not. If I understand correctly the right controllelr is attached with Zip-Ties. And the left one doesn't really "attach" per say, but is kinda placed in that front nest and held by hand anyway. So since Quest 2 controllers are very similar to G2 it could just work. I'm not sure but I really hope so since regular gun stocks with magnet cups do not fit.

      Several months back Kobra updated their controller docks and they no longer use zip ties. This is a review I did of one of their newest stocks, the Sidewinder. You can see how the new dock works in this video. ua-cam.com/video/KfLp3SdIypM/v-deo.html

    2:10 You would never have a need to drop your rifle during an intense online match. If you do then that's in you not the game. Which makes that very situational.

    • @Maraksot78
      @Maraksot78  2 роки тому

      I think starting yesterday or the day before Kobra VR suspended new orders because they're getting more orders than they can fulfill in a timely manner. They don't want people to have to wait 6 or 8 weeks, or longer, from the time they place their order before they actually receive their stock. They're planning to resume orders on 27 April 2022 once they've had time to get caught up on the orders they currently have. This info is posted on their Etsy store too just FYI.

    Are you kidding me? You're dominant hand controller fixed!??? What about bolt action on the right side of the gun, so you need to do it with left, that f***s with the imersion

    • @jinxed13
      @jinxed13 2 роки тому +2

      It was not designed for bolt actions, Wolverine/Ultralight is fast placed meta, weapons, switching out to pistol or grenades. It is not for everyone, we have always said that some will see it and shout Blasphemy! That's why we offer choice, CQB and the soon to be released magnetic stock I am going to call Project B (for @Maraksot78 to scratch his head over) are the ones to look at for that type of style.
      Although if you watch any footage of Fal playing you will see he is R hand dominant and uses L to reload bolt actions. He realises not everyone will do this though and doesn't do this with the real things.
