    I've been testing out as many VR games as I can on my arc a770 16gb since I got it out of curiosity. Performance is definitely driver dependent, but in the best conditions it performs surprisingly well! I've even played through modded resident evil VR and skyrimvr with it! I've noticed that as more flat games get fixed, certain VR games do too, just by proxy

    Daaang, this poor thing got no love for the future demand for VR gaming. It's such a shame that it still doesn't have support for air link and steam link. I can see steam link as it's only a handful of months old at this point. At least good ol' tried and true vitrual desktop allowed you the opportunity to get the Intel that you needed! Another great video, as always Bryan, best belive that I'm taking notes 😆

    I have an a770 and have thought about putting it back into my rig and seeing how it do, but haven't really had the time or motivation. Thank you for sharing all this info, it's interesting to see how far Intel has come and how far they have yet to go.

    I use A770 with a Pico 4 using Pico connect and it works great ! The only problem is it will say the detected GPU is not supported but they won’t block you from using it 😀 both usb and wireless link works

      I use kink cable but I did used to use vd. Now I use a pulley system and it is superior in every way now except for the fact even with all asw off. It still sometimes kicks on

      @@BC_Editz676Yes, I agree, the difference in latency is major! Especially it's nice being able to install stuff, AND use VR at the same time.

    Used the A750 with the PSVR2 and it supported VR. It had some visual artefacts, but switching between refresh rate and restarting SteamVR fixes it temporarily for the session.

    That's awesome I was just watching your older video for the first time and now I get the follow up. Been hard not being able to plug my quest in since I got the arc 750 but I got a new router so I'm hoping for squadrons VR to work.

    I really want Intel Cards in the future to be more viable. So much potential! But the thing you said about NVidea last says it all for VR right now. Thanks for the revisit!

    personally, i feel that the price to performance this GPU has gotten in comparison to the duopoly of AMD and Nvidia was enough to buy it. While it may not specialise in VR, virtual desktop saves us, and as an all round general purpose GPU, i feel that the value is still there in this card

      Thanks for checking out the video and pointing this out. I was of course speaking from a strictly playing PC VR perspective. For the money it's certainly not a bad GPU. Intel's drivers keep getting better so as a general use gaming GPU it definitely has its place in the market. It's unfortunate there isn't better VR support, but realistically most people would be using it for flat gaming primarily and it is nice to know that despite the lack of official VR support you aren't totally screwedand that you can use it for VR and get decent performance.

    it's weird that even steam isn't recognising the hardware decoder from the arc a770, but can you try changing the preferred Codec on the Virtual Desktop Streamer App, to something like HEVC or even AV1 ?

    I did find out that the flashing lights you saw at 13:20 may be resolved after turning off MSAA, There have been three worlds in VRChat that i've seen so far with the same flashing lights, and someone in the intel discord server found out that it could be "resolved" by turning off MSAA, and it worked! I can't confirm it will make it will still make the characters meshes in the characters visible or not however, but if you have a chance, maybe you could check it out?

    Can you by any chance share what graphics and performance settings you used on Virtual Desktop and Steam VR?
    I'm trying this out with my Arc A750 and Meta Quest 3. VD is working fine, but Steam VR is a bit buggy. Tried Phasmophobia (don't have other VR titles yet) and it was reeeaally laggy, like trying to play with a Pentium II. Fixed by dropping the resolution in Steam VR to the minimum but as you can imagine, it looks quite appalling.

    Been watching ur benchmarks for quite a while n u claiming Nvidia is the best for VR contradicts most of ur reviews,in most cases cards with 8gb vram both from Nvidia n AMD in ur reviews struggled n that's most cards from Nvidia while u praised 6000series cards from AMD n only had issues with 7000series cards from AMD,if u going yo give recommendation please please be clear n honest with ur why otherwise people are going to go out n but 3050's based on what uve said here today then hate u for the shitty experience they end up getting

      The Issue on AMD 7000 was a driver bug and fixed in version 23.7.1 so on 2023-07. You can also read this fix in the official changelog. Since this bugfix no problems with AMD 7000 at all. I switched from a 3090 to a 7900XTX without any issues. Nvidia and AMD are both great options for VR.

    Have you ever tried a VR headset that isn't stand alone like The Meta headsets, instead you should have used something like an HTC Vive anything from their product line that is pcvr or the valve index. Cuz I've noticed with certain PC configurations you need a PC VR headset and Meta headsets don't work that well.

    • @Maraksot78
      @Maraksot78  3 місяці тому +1

      I believe there's two different versions of Virtual Desktop, one is for wired headsets and the other is for wireless headsets, i.e. the Quest and Pico stand alone headsets. The thing is the wired version of Virtual Desktop does NOT work with Quest and Pico stand alone headsets; only the wireless version works. And a Link Cable doesn't work with the wireless version. In order to get the best wireless experience with Virtual Desktop (or AirLink), you need to connect your PC to your router using an ethernet cable and then connect your headset to your 5GHz wifi. And you're going to need at least a wifi 5 router, but preferably wifi 6, 6e or higher.

    This performed MUCH better than my 7900xtx. 7900xtx is hitting 18fps in Apex Construct and 30fps Espire VR Agent1 on Quest 3. Air Car and Kayak Mirage Used to work well also, but now don't. This card is broken again. Bad drivers. This is true for Steam Link, Meta Link, and VD also.

      @Maraksot78  2 місяці тому

      @kindpanda1075 I don't know for certain cause I haven't messed around with anti-lag and stuff, but I guess it's possible turning a setting like that on could mess things up for VR.

    • @marci1270

      Just update your drivers. This issue was fixed in 23.7.1. I switched from a 3090 to a 7900 XTX and have GREAT performance. You can also try DDU and then afterwards installing the newest driver again. If you have nvidia before a clean windows installation is recommended because nvidia make some registry changes on your systems. Since I reinstalled windows VR is butter smooth.

      @kindpanda1075 2 місяці тому

    The GRE is becoming really popular and looks like a fantastic option for VR.
