Fun fact about the Carnival games. The Skypiea and Ennis Lobby minigames are in the game. 4Kids probably had plans for Skypiea, so they didn't whole back with them as this is not the only game that had 4kids Skypiea arc. The only boss fight they skipped was Lucci, probably because it was the most difficult to replace with the already established characters. So this is a game with a very fun novelty to own both versions.

One thing I feel worth mentioning about the original Pirate Warriors is that it felt like it was afraid to commit to being a Dynasty Warriors game in its campaign. Pirate Warriors 4 also feels like they reimagined the game gameplay foundation to be source material faithful, than simply working fitting One Piece on a existing mold.
If you look at Dynasty Warriors spinoffs at that time, they were actually experimenting stuff due to being criticized for rehashing same gameplay over and over. Fist of the North Star and Gundam also tried to be different to be more accurate to their source materials than just DW reskin. With PW they tried to make the game more One Piece-y by adapting Luffy's ability and story elements like carrying sick Nami or Impel Down being an underground maze.
Notably Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity are also spinoff sequels that seems to follow the same philosophy and Persona 5 Strikers is probably the most extreme shake up to the formula I've seen in a long time. So it definitely seems to be a change in philosophy going forward for Omega Force.
Unlimited Cruise 2 was actually my first real introduction to the One Piece franchise. A friend's brother had it and we just wanted to play the fighting part. Even though I knew nothing about the characters we had loads of fun! So I decided to watch the anime. And now, over 10 years later, it is one of my favorite franchises ever
Crazy that Yuta is basically a proto-Bartolomeo when you think about it. Completely a step ahead of the game when it comes to Luffy inspiring a generation of pirates
Oddly enough the 4KIDS One piece dub was how I was introduced to One piece when I was a kid and Saturday morning cartoons were still a thing, but it was the first One Piece Unlimited Adventure game coming out years later that re-sparked my interest. Enough so to restart the series from the start. From the Manga, anime English sub/dub and after catching up to everything out at that point I'm glad I did before checking out the game proper.
I put so much time into Unlimited Adventure as a child. That game has a special place in my heart, even with all the run throughs I had to do in each zone to look for the materials I needed.
As a fellow UA-camr, I've dreamed of a special project a long time ago: A big deep-dive retrospective on every single One Piece video game. I was inspired by my time exploring the One Piece Wiki, since I noticed there are a lot of weird games in the series that nobody ever talks about. Sadly, because of a lack of time, money and other resources, I realized it was almost impossible for me to do it. So, imagine my reaction when UA-cam recommended it to me! This is exactly what I wanted to do, and you did it way better than I could've ever had! I'm glad I finally found almost 3 hours to watch it in its entirety, because this video was amazing: Informative, interesting, funny, concise, etc. I'm definitely going to rewatch it many times. You did a great job with this huge video. Can't wait to see what else you cook in the future :D
Something I will say for World Seeker is that the writing of the Straw Hats was pretty good considering the standard in which they’re usually written in filler content. In those side quests that revolve around them, they weren’t written just like the flat versions of them that you often find when Oda doesn’t write them, but they went a little deeper and I appreciate that.
Honestly one piece games have only gotten better, and with stuff like pirate warriors 4 its not hard to see why people look forward to new one piece games.
Your completely right, bit the fact that they haven't come out with a game that is actually worth buying. I feel like all there game ideas just don't stick
I personally don’t like the brain dead gameplay of the warriors games, like all of them. It’s just a template Koei Tecmo slaps a new coat of paint on. I wish there was a One Piece game with more involved gameplay.
musou games are not appealing to everyone due to it repetitiveness. I think the best one piece games so far are pirate warriors 3, Grand Adventure, Odyssey, unlimited adventure, and unlimited world red
The Pirate Warriors franchise is amazing and translates so well the chaotic nature of OP arcs, many people to beat at the same time, change of plans while your following another plan etc. So good that it has 4 games improving the gameplay one upon the other
You missed one key feature from Great Pirate Coliseum, it is compatible with another game that was alos made by Arc System Works and you can use characters from one of the games to fight against characters from the other game. The game in question is called Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden... yeah, there is technically a crossover fighter game between One Piece and Dragon Ball Z.
one summer, after uni exams, I had like 3 weeks of nothing to do, and basically played Pirate Warriors 3 for most of it, while having the anime (german dub) running on a 2nd monitor - what a ride XD
I'm just going through Pirate warrior 3. And seriously, random islands and the ability to summon teammates are just the best part of this game. Being able to enter this rush with the call of team members, especially if they have a special "flag" (a team member, sworn enemy, family member or something like that) makes the battles feel much more alive, and the heroes on your side are no longer just dummies who are doing something somewhere, and active team members helping in combat. The islands are just a kiss from the boss. It's something that shouldn't have worked, but damn it, it worked perfectly (at least for me). The opportunity to try out such "what if" scenarios, or to play out the path of a favorite character who could be secondary in the main plot. The fourth is much faster and more dynamic, and the possibility of several special attacks is really a plus, but the game began to feel a little more empty. If they are going to do the fifth part, they need to maintain the dynamics of the fourth combat, but return the command features and home islands from the third.
Love the anime/ manga! I'm not the biggest fan of the games but any one piece information I consume. Thank you for the free content! Much appreciated! 🙏 👌👏
Man I spent so much time playing Unlimited Cruise. Such fun games. I could definitely see a new game in the same vein on a modern system working out great. Semi-open world and exploration just fits One Piece so well.
I remember that I always start a new playthrough because my game was broken and It literally took me 2 year to learn how to run properly so I was stuck a lot of time
I would absolutely love to watch your analysis on the 4Kids dub of One Piece, very much enjoyed how in-depth this video was while also very entertaining!
I really liked the first, like, half of World Seeker. I feel like they really dropped the ball, rushed the ending. Until that point, it was so good! It's utterly wild that there aren't more naval combat simulation games in the One Piece universe though.
It is so wild to think that the time before Vivi's true identity being revealed was long enough for a game dev to make her alter ego a playable character before then rofl
Unlimited world r consumed like months of my life especially the coloseum mod , couldnt get enough of that and when i unlocked dofflamigo i was in paradise
Ngl One Piece Kart would go so hard, and I’m shocked it has never been done. We’ve had mystery dungeon and baseball games, so a racing game isn’t too far off.
This video is legitimately the best retrospective of the games. Honestly man, thank you so much. I hope some of this trivia makes it into the UA-camr challenges. I was shocked that Water7/EniesLobby was spoiled by a Wii game!!
Please make a 4kids retrospective! It’s also how I became familiar with one piece. 4pm on weekdays on Cartoon Network. I have a soft spot for it, and I’m not sure id ever be the fan of the series that I now am without it
Important difference in Pirate Warriors 4 that I'm pretty sure you didn't mention (or I blacked out when you did idk) is that the giant characters are actually giants now. Playing as Whitebeard, or the newly introduced Kaido and Big Mom and having their heights be canon accurate? It's ridiculously fun. Makes the whole game for me tbh
a small note on the Amiibo costumes in that 3DS game: with the exception of Luigi (who was in the 2nd wave), all the costumes are based on characters from the first wave of Amiibo (so there was slim pickings for Smash characters to choose from, hence the lack of Zero Suit Samus. Luigi was probably picked too because his costume is a palette swap of Mario's)
This is like a trip of nostalgia for me. One Piece Grand Battle 2 was the first exposure to the One Piece series. Funnily, I've tried many game title after OP: GB2 in Japanese despite not knowing Japanese, so when I played some games with Q&A minigame like One Piece: Dragon Dream or One Piece Pirate Carnival, I had to remember the text and answer without know what they meant. * This video made me remember how buggy and OP Ace is some One Piece games. - In Grand Adventure, 1 of his special attack has multiple hit box condensed in front of him, which spread out forward, so if the opponent is very close in front of him, he can one shot opponent. - In Unlimited Adventure and Cruise, his fire pillar hit decent hard and knockback opponent, but the animation is wide, tall and stays for a long time (for a fight game), so he uses it when opponent is backed against the wall, they will get by fire pillar so many as they keep getting knocked back between the wall and the attack. - In Pirate Warriors 4, Giant enemies has very large hit box and mechanic to prevent stun lock. Ace has aerial combo that he dive downward and diagonally with continuous hit box, so he can continuously hit and kill Giant enemies very easily with this combo. He is like a premier character for killing Giant boss like Kaido, Big mom and Whitebeard.
I’ve started watching one piece for the first time a week ago, and simultaneously I’ve regained interest in videgames, especially from 80s to 2010s. I’ve found this video and I’m really impressed, it is super detailed, informative, entretaining and the edits are great! Thank you ❤
the Quiz game in Pirates Carnival is questions about One Piece lore as a whole, so if you played and no one else knew one piece lore it would either be fun to see them guess or own them by your massive knowledge of one piece
For all the problems with Unlimited World Red, Patrick Redfield and his interactions with the Straw Hat Crew are INCREDIBLE! That last chapter, and especially the interactions between Brook and Redfield always make me giddy.
The combat in legend of the rainbow island actually really reminds me of Dragon Ball Fusions for the 3DS. Makes me wonder if it’s actually just a strange kinda subsubgenre that never made any waves in the west
Tresure Wars 2 (And the execution of the Tresure Wars games as a whole) Sounds like a missed opportunity. The idea of Buggy opening a pirate amusement park as a get rich quick scheme and the Straw Hats getting tangled up in it sounds like a great idea for a party game.
This was a good video man. One of the things I wish the One Piece games would do, is change their outfits. Stop giving them the same outfits they wore right after the time skip, They have different fits. That's the biggest thing I want. Well, that and a game that's really good, that is loyal to the story from the beginning to its current point. And i mean, like a really good game. Plus another fighting game. A super good one. Never mind all of that. I have to say again. This was a good video. Do you ever see yourself reviewing the story as a whole or making anymore videos on One Piece?
This is exactly what I wanted to exist! Playing Odyssey re-awoke my interest in One Piece and since then restarting the anime from episode 1 (caught up all the way by now), and also gotten interested in all the games I somehow managed to miss for all these years. And I really appreciate the ads. Now it's unfortunate that I enjoy pre-timeskip infinitely more than post-timeskip One Piece, with pre-timeskip games suffering from being made for old hardware and questionable design choices
heck yeah dude, another high-quality dive into the OP games. surprising how obscured the rest of the franchise is (within the english-speaking fandom at least) considering how big and long-lasting the series has been. really cool seeing this topic covered.
Unlimited Cruise was what got me into One Piece! My mum bought me and my sister a bunch of Wii games and she picked up Unlimited Cruise because she thought it was purely a fishing game lmao (I mean the fishing mechanic of the game was really fun). We ended up really enjoying the characters and binged the manga and the movies. Thanks mum!!
Fun fact: family! actually keeps getting updated every time a new member joined the crew- so theres a version of the song that includes franky, brook, and jinbei
2:32:52 oh i can imagine it now... Sanji's Sky Walk, Robin sprouting a line of hands to pull her up, Usopp using his Green Stars to make vines to move around... A shame... Would've been cool
I'm feeling the need to point out another instance of "Game original story adapted into anime", though its not quite in the same way as with Oceans Dream: Dragon Ball Z Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, while more widely known overseas for the OVA release, is based on the Famicom game of the same name that it was also intended as a strategy guide to. They decided to remake it for Raging Blast 2, as the Unique Game villain Hatchiyak is featured in that game.
The One Piece Unlimited games need more cover. People really ignore then they are by far the best One piece games ever created. Then Unlimited Red came and ruined everything, I really didn't dislike it but also didn't love it.
Finally someone talking about the games! I don’t understand how there isn’t a high quality One Piece game yet. I would love to see one like the Naruto Storm series.
This vid was really the best to watch about One Piece games, while I'd already watched another, this one hits it very well, showing commercials, some in depth explanations, and covering many, many titles! Great watch!
World Seeker is so close to being a great game. I think if the gameplay was redesigned it would’ve been better but the main issue is the world. One Piece’s biggest strength is characters and world. Not letting us explore an open world of ICONIC locations like Alabasta, Water 7, Wano, etc. is a major crime. Whatever the next One Piece game is, I hope they continue to learn. One day we will get a fantastic game and I cannot wait to be able to scratch that itch to just interact with that world.
this video was amazing!! somehow i usually end up pretty bored with these types of videos, but this one kept me engaged all the way through. it was so interesting, and props to the amount of work it must've taken to do this!
The fact that in the game where they turn into animals...and Luffy Becomes a monkey, I am convinced Oda when told about the game and asked to help write the plot said, "He has to be a monkey" cause years later...I mean...its fitting to say the least LOL
Wait, really? Holy shit, and here I thought it was a reference to chapter 1 page 5 where we were hit with the world-shattering revelation that Luffy's name is actually _Monkey_ D Luffy. Oda really foreshadows everything!
Pirates Carnival is so much fun and finding out they cut out characters and games from the US version was mind blowing! I wish there was an english translation of the Japanese version to emulate
Yeah for Worldseeker... they could have Easily make it possible for the other Strawhats. Robin could use her Devil Fruit to grab on to things, Nami could make a Cloud to ride on it, Franky could just have a Grappling Hook, Chopper could use his Forms and Lysop some of his Plantstuff or some other Gadget... You could make it that Sanji can jump really high and fast. Theres so many Options..
There is a severe lack of information and footage of some of these games, and this was a really great comprehensive break down. However if I'm going to critique it, I do think the crossover and as much as I hate them mobile games should have been included. Those being Jump Super Stars, Jump Ultimate Stars, Battle Stadium D.O.N., J-Stars Victory Vs., Jump Force, the linking ability with Dai Kaizoku Colosseum and Extreme Butoden, Treasure Cruise, Thousand Storm and Bounty Rush.
Honestly what i want nowadays as a One Piece fan isn't ANOTHER game that we play as the Straw hats, or new custom members of the crew i'd like to see a game where we can freely explore the world of one piece, with full freedom, making it so we could fully explore the world Oda's spent 25 years building a specific "track" of so to clarify i don't want to visit Logue town for the Upteenth time i want to see the "final islands" of South, North, AND West blue i want to see the islands the Other supernovas went through I want the FULL freedom to play in the world that romanticises freedom i want to play a one piece game where i can just be a character in this VAST WORLD, i've been dreaming of for a long time!
That's a herculean undertaking for any game developer at best and a procedurally generated nightmare at worst, maybe a MMO if you had to meet in half way.
@@NintendoSegaGuys yeah... you're right... still want it REAL bad though... maybe it could work as multiple games? each exploring one of the one piece seas individually, in diffrent eras, only using bits of the grand line as DLC? but that still wouldn't be enough... yet it could be used as a way to help with Oda's pacing only making it annoying for the fans, looking for important lore in a seperate videogame series if done poorly, it might end up like Kingdom Hearts... BUT I STILL WANT IT REAL BAD!
@@NintendoSegaGuys sorry, i misswrote i wasn't trying to shit on ALL of Kingdom Hearts just on how they manage lore distribution throughout the games cuz keeping up with that is a nightmare (edit, checked myself and was fucking up again)
After watching Oda's Monster on Netflix i thought to myself "what if this whole idea of "explore the world/lore of One Piece" games, were a series like Dragon Quest with the same purpose as the FNAF books? Using Oda's other IP title Monster?" that way: - the fans would get to feel some protagonism in the world of One Piece without playing Luffy/other (customiseable) Straw Hats - the game could have multiple endings, which only 1 would serve as a vague spoiler to events in the main series - we wouldn't get to explore the whole world of One Piece, but we'd still get to learn from it without having to wait whole weeks for new stuff
when he mentioned burning blood and spoilers i remembered i was on a road trip with no internet and a bunch of one piece to binge. No one could spoil that arc for me.
Unlimited is my favorite series. Cruise was so damn good, World Red was such a disapointment the city hub was a letdown I was totally up for and updated Sunny hub but with more stuff on it like been able to use the Soldier Dock System vehicles (Red only used the Brachio Tank and in a cutscene). I keep saying that an Unlimited game in the vein of Cruise with islands like the cities/zones from Odyseey following the story from the begining would be awesome. Using a similar item collection system to progress but making it more open, like for going to the next island finish this island story and replenish the boat supplies but with no restriction just bring and amount of food/stuff BUT if you bring better stuff that is harder to get in this island you get better results like making better dishes. I would also add stuff like going on submarine exploration like they did pre Jaya to get treasure (using the Shark Submerge after time skip!)
My favorite One Piece game that no one talks about, because it was never localized and shut down years ago, was One Piece Dance Battle. It was a gacha rhythm game and it was so fun
First Gameboy Color game is made by Banpresto, and one of their flagship titles is Super Robot Wars, and you can clearly see it in the battle screen. You said "Moving feels unnecessary", but it's the main part of turn-based strategy that makes it... strategic. I guess you never played games like this, if you find it not fun. I actually feel hyped to play this game because of the battle system you shown me. I just feel rather... bitter since you presented your distaste for turn-based stuff without adding "it's just my opinion"...
Bro THANK YOU for this! I remember playing grand rush as a kid like 15 years ago and I always wondered why I had to put in a cheat to unlock crocodile and robin
Man I remember being so excited to get Grand Adventure after reading the Shonen Jumps I would buy from the Japan section of Suncoast Video in my local mall. I put in serious hours into that game and after maxing out Special Attack, Buggy, Crocodile, and Ace were all OP as hell with their huge nearly unavoidable AOE specials. Chop Chop Carnival was busted lmao
Pirate Warriors 1 and it's underrated, it broke up the standard musou gameplay of clearing objectives and offered small challenges that made the game feel unique compared to the other entries, the boss fights were especially good. Unlimited World: Red was good too.
dude, idk if you have yet because I'm just now watching this video but I'm halfway through and you said to comment if we were interested in a video in defense of the 4kids version so I paused the video and said "wait, yes, hold on. absolutely I will." the 4kids version was my intro to one piece as a kid and I ADORED it growing up. it was sometimes like the only thing I could look forward to as a kid. I know 4kids did one piece dirty as a whole but honest to god, I am a testament to them doing what they were aiming for. it was perfectly done enough for me at that age to fall in love with it and I've carried it with me my whole entire life. I am forever grateful for 4kids one piece and I'll fight naysayers about it. you just had to be there. so please make the video. do it for kid me, and kid you, and all the other kiddos who had their brains carved out by 4kids to make room for the entirety of one piece later. ❤ (also, YAH-YO YAH-YOOO!)
Unlimited Cruise games for me are the absolute best one piece games ever created, the ones that most closely capture how the show feels. Exploring an island and upgrading your crew.

Pirate Warriors 4's ending for Wano is so funny. Kaido just gets annoyed enough that he just decides to leave Wano and he flys off
One thing I feel worth mentioning about the original Pirate Warriors is that it felt like it was afraid to commit to being a Dynasty Warriors game in its campaign.
Pirate Warriors 4 also feels like they reimagined the game gameplay foundation to be source material faithful, than simply working fitting One Piece on a existing mold.
Yeah i don’t know much about the first two pirate warriors really, but 4 is goated especially you can play as Gear 5th.
@@joshshrum2764 and as Yamato.
yamato slaps so hard
I wish Chopper had a Pikachu costume instead of a Kirby one, mostly because of Choppers voice actress is the same as Pikachu
Man I'm glad to watch this it shows how many hidden treasures like unlimited adventure I've missed out on
As a fellow UA-camr, I've dreamed of a special project a long time ago: A big deep-dive retrospective on every single One Piece video game.
There was already one before that called battle stadium Don. Don standing for dragon ball, one piece, and naruto
World seeker has a radio that lets you choose the music, I had the same song on repeat the whole time
one summer, after uni exams, I had like 3 weeks of nothing to do, and basically played Pirate Warriors 3 for most of it, while having the anime (german dub) running on a 2nd monitor - what a ride XD
I remember that I always start a new playthrough because my game was broken and It literally took me 2 year to learn how to run properly so I was stuck a lot of time
FINALLY A MASSIVE VIDEO ABOUT ALL THE ONE PIECE GAMES LOVEEEE IT
I would absolutely love to watch your analysis on the 4Kids dub of One Piece, very much enjoyed how in-depth this video was while also very entertaining!
21:43 you did not look at an evil seagull and called it a crow 💀
My childhood favourites were Grand Adventure, Unlimited Cruise 1&2, Gigant Battle and Pirate Warriors 3
You’ve inspired me to make something like this but for the Tenkaichi series. Amazing work bro! Can’t wait to watch more
This video was amazing, i loved how detailed you were with every game my favorite one piece games are gigant battle 1 and 2
a small note on the Amiibo costumes in that 3DS game:
with the exception of Luigi (who was in the 2nd wave), all the costumes are based on characters from the first wave of Amiibo (so there was slim pickings for Smash characters to choose from, hence the lack of Zero Suit Samus. Luigi was probably picked too because his costume is a palette swap of Mario's)
Thank you for this. I was biting my nails waiting for the PS2 Grand Battle game as it was my first videogame ever, and YES that intro is THE BEST!♥️
2:06:34 perfect scence for the emphasis of heavy
Actually one of the best reviews I've seen about the games especially since I've been trying to play all of them this pass year or so
Past year
I’ve started watching one piece for the first time a week ago, and simultaneously I’ve regained interest in videgames, especially from 80s to 2010s.
I’ve found this video and I’m really impressed, it is super detailed, informative, entretaining and the edits are great! Thank you ❤
32:40 Rocky looks like Doflamingo if he joined a rock and roll band instead of killing his dad
LOL
the Quiz game in Pirates Carnival is questions about One Piece lore as a whole, so if you played and no one else knew one piece lore it would either be fun to see them guess or own them by your massive knowledge of one piece
I searched for a Video exactly like this a few Months ago , i´m so happy youtube recommended your Amazing Video.
literally all they need to do is take sid meiers pirates/sea dogs and put it in the grand line
For all the problems with Unlimited World Red, Patrick Redfield and his interactions with the Straw Hat Crew are INCREDIBLE! That last chapter, and especially the interactions between Brook and Redfield always make me giddy.
The final part of that game made it for me, tbh. I thought the game was just average until then, but the last chapter was so charming.
1:27:31 no seriously, why aren’t one piece games dubbed anymore. It is just as popular as dragon ball in the west.
EruptionFang back at it again and with a One Piece video to boot!
A deep dive into the Yai yo yai yo!? Love the idea. 4kids deep dive please!
Damn, so much work put into covering all these games! Great work Eruption
Grand Battle 3 is my favorite Power Stone game, and Grand Adventure is a nice compilation of what was missing from it.
I'm feeling the need to point out another instance of "Game original story adapted into anime", though its not quite in the same way as with Oceans Dream:
Dragon Ball Z Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, while more widely known overseas for the OVA release, is based on the Famicom game of the same name that it was also intended as a strategy guide to. They decided to remake it for Raging Blast 2, as the Unique Game villain Hatchiyak is featured in that game.
I really hope translations of the Japan only ganes eventually get made. I would love to experience all of these games.
Chopper not getting a Pikachu costume, as both share the same JP VA, in Super Grand Battle X is an absolute crime
one thing they always managed to do no matter how good or bad the game was, is they’d make the game look really cool with their commercials
This vid was really the best to watch about One Piece games, while I'd already watched another, this one hits it very well, showing commercials, some in depth explanations, and covering many, many titles! Great watch!
OMG, you actually got the Strawhat animals right! So many people have been getting those wrong lately!
I love it when people talk about Grand adventure or the unlimited series. These gemaes will hold a special place in my heart forever
01:16:16 is going to haunt me for ever! lol
As a kid One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2 intro after waiting some time at the title screen was SO DAMN COOL. Even now I find it perfect
One Piece deserves a good open world game (action rpg, or maybe even mmo)
The fact that in the game where they turn into animals...and Luffy Becomes a monkey, I am convinced Oda when told about the game and asked to help write the plot said, "He has to be a monkey" cause years later...I mean...its fitting to say the least LOL
MONKEY D Luffy
He is literally named "Monkey D Luffy". Oda has never hidden which animal would represent Luffy................
@@GutsTheBeast ...fucking hell it all adds up
Wait, really? Holy shit, and here I thought it was a reference to chapter 1 page 5 where we were hit with the world-shattering revelation that Luffy's name is actually _Monkey_ D Luffy. Oda really foreshadows everything!
"Cause years later" what? I'm up to date with the manga but I don't understand what you're referencing. Gear 4's Kong named attacks or what?
holy shit one peak 3 hour video essay
Bruh this is the most complete and best video about One Piece games.
Honestly what i want nowadays as a One Piece fan
isn't ANOTHER game that we play as the Straw hats, or new custom members of the crew
i'd like to see a game where we can freely explore the world of one piece, with full freedom, making it so we could fully explore the world Oda's spent 25 years building a specific "track" of
so to clarify
i don't want to visit Logue town for the Upteenth time
i want to see the "final islands" of South, North, AND West blue
i want to see the islands the Other supernovas went through
I want the FULL freedom to play in the world that romanticises freedom
i want to play a one piece game
where i can just be a character in this VAST WORLD, i've been dreaming of for a long time!
That's a herculean undertaking for any game developer at best and a procedurally generated nightmare at worst, maybe a MMO if you had to meet in half way.
@@NintendoSegaGuys
yeah...
you're right...
still want it REAL bad though...
maybe it could work as multiple games? each exploring one of the one piece seas individually, in diffrent eras, only using bits of the grand line as DLC?
but that still wouldn't be enough...
yet it could be used as a way to help with Oda's pacing
only making it annoying for the fans, looking for important lore in a seperate videogame series
if done poorly, it might end up like Kingdom Hearts...
BUT I STILL WANT IT REAL BAD!
@@frakspikes2619 The only bad Kingdom Hearts games are Chain of Memories and the Union games...
and 3.
@@NintendoSegaGuys
sorry, i misswrote
i wasn't trying to shit on ALL of Kingdom Hearts
just on how they manage lore distribution throughout the games
cuz keeping up with that is a nightmare
(edit, checked myself and was fucking up again)
After watching Oda's Monster on Netflix
i thought to myself
"what if this whole idea of "explore the world/lore of One Piece" games, were a series like Dragon Quest with the same purpose as the FNAF books? Using Oda's other IP title Monster?"
that way:
- the fans would get to feel some protagonism in the world of One Piece without playing Luffy/other (customiseable) Straw Hats
- the game could have multiple endings, which only 1 would serve as a vague spoiler to events in the main series
- we wouldn't get to explore the whole world of One Piece, but we'd still get to learn from it without having to wait whole weeks for new stuff
oh i definitely want a video on 4Kids One Piece, it’s what introduced me as well and i remember it fondly
I hope you know this is officially one of the best youtuber youtube video on One Piece on this site.
Thanks to you for that extensive work!
when he mentioned burning blood and spoilers i remembered i was on a road trip with no internet and a bunch of one piece to binge.
Nami is definitely sayign slurs in that thumbnail
That's one of the reasons why she's my One Piece waifu.
Bro THANK YOU for this! I remember playing grand rush as a kid like 15 years ago and I always wondered why I had to put in a cheat to unlock crocodile and robin
In the manga spread you go over I’m pretty sure Chopper is supposed to be a slime from Dragon Quest.
You sound exactly like the youtuber "Raycevick".
Great video btw, I watched the entire thing in one sitting. Really enjoyed it!
Unlimited World: Red was good too.
dude, idk if you have yet because I'm just now watching this video but I'm halfway through and you said to comment if we were interested in a video in defense of the 4kids version so I paused the video and said "wait, yes, hold on. absolutely I will."
the 4kids version was my intro to one piece as a kid and I ADORED it growing up. it was sometimes like the only thing I could look forward to as a kid.
(also, YAH-YO YAH-YOOO!)
Unlimited Cruise games for me are the absolute best one piece games ever created, the ones that most closely capture how the show feels. Exploring an island and upgrading your crew.
