C6 Z06, my daily driver...makes me smile going to and leaving from work. Don’t let it sit at home because you only have one lifetime.
C6Roadster wise words. Enjoy that Z
Mine's just a BASE 2008 and I have the same reaction... especially when the weather gets sunny... 😎
I agree 100000% I daily drive my 500HP+ bolt on Grand Sport and love every minute of it!
JT Harris same here ! Lol
exactly. i cant stand guys who dont drive their corvette. you cant take it with you when u die. drive it!
C6 gen proved by far the best vettes that ever made.
C6 is the Greatest
By far....and I'm a viper guy
Cant tell you how many times I thought of doing this. The C6 Z is an awesome car. I had one in silver also. Good move, enjoy it.
Corvette are getting heavier every year. C6z's are the best platforms period
YELLOW08Z06 you are correct, they have gotten a bit heavy. I can't wait to get my Z back and see How it does with the couple mods...
YELLOW08Z06 actually the C5Z was the best platforms they we're the lightest!
The C6Z is arguably the perfected C5
Hans M I would agree
c5z was the best platform.......the c6 is a refined street car.....but the c5 platform was the most capable. Thats why guys were still paddling c6's on the track until the year rule put the c5 out to pasture in the racing world. Guys that want modern technology may prefer the c6, but the c5 is the more capable and lighter platform. Just my 2 cents and I've owned em all.
I like C6's.. I think black headlight housings behind the clear lenses would look great with the silver
J Wayne I loved the C7 but as time goes by I'm missing it less and less
Mike Hill.. Thats always good. Lol.. The Challenger is sweet, i grew up a Dodge fan
J Wayne thank you, I love the comments and appreciate you watching
I honestly prefer the looks of the c6. Something about that thing looks so sleak. I also like that they are lighter. I believe of the more modern Vettes the C6 will age the least.
They are great... I enjoy my current C5 but truthfully I really miss the C7
Love the trans am in the background!
Thanks, here's a link to the video on it
ua-cam.com/video/RJgeAqe_n10/v-deo.html
C6 look better, more room inside, lighter, round tail lights (kept tradition) C6 outsold C7 first year to first year. C6 last true corvette
The ruined the c6 with the tail lights
you saying that like it was completely stomped or something, the C6 only out sold it by 84 units LOL
I think the C6 looks much better
Kyle Reese they really are beautiful cars!!
Yeah they look more like the Vette family with smooth curves. The C7 has a little more edges going on, on the hoods and other places. I am debating between a C6 or a C7 to replace my Camaro 2SS, but think I am leaning with the C6 and then just upgrade the stereo so I can add a back up camera. Having that makes you spoiled for all future cars.
Looking for Red, but that silver does look nice too.
Yep, you made a great decision trading the C7 Z06 for a C6 Z06...
They're far lighter (C7 is roughly 3700 lbs while the C6 weighs about 3100 lbs), you also get more cabin room compared to the cramped C7... You also get far more potential as far as performance modifications, just a simple heads, cam, headers, intake and exhaust can net you 150 to 200 horsepower easily...
You'll be around the 600 to 650 rear wheel horsepower mark and 515 to 565 torque with that setup naturally aspirated... And you'll be all set to add boost if you feel it isn't enough...
With the stock bottom end, you'll be good up until the 800 to 1000 hp mark (possibly more)... Add meth injection, porting and polishing the intake, throttle body, heads, get a bigger throttle body (ported and polished as well), higher capacity injectors, a newer, more robust fuel system, and finally either a supercharger or turbo (big single or smaller twins)...
If you want even more, you're going to have to call up Texas Speed or LME to see if they can build you a 1500+ hp engine, not to mention calling up RPM transmission to get a built trans and diff (they will be the weakest links at that point), and a Monster 3 disk clutch... After that, the sky (and more importantly, your wallet) is the limit...
You are absolutely right and thank you. Definitely the wallet is the biggest limitation. I suppose if I didnt have so many it would be a lot easier but just cant seem to let them go lol
Awesome video! I just picked up a 2008 Z06 and can't wait to start modding. Cool collection!
Peligro04Cobra thank you!!! Enjoy that Z they are a blast
Wow, i feel that the c6 is the last of the round light corvettes that still looks like a vette, i owen a c6 zr1corvette that to me looks and feels better than the c7
Z06 is a monster
I'd rather own a C6Z personally you can build a lot more power! And put in some recaro seats badass car man!
craig howard thank you. Loved the C7 but think I made the right decision
I think you'll be surprised at how fast it is after heads + cam. Nothing like NA response.
I was very impressed with the way the car responded. Easily as fast as the C7 Z but alas I sold the car and moved on to other toys.
Miss the car but honestly I miss the C7 Z even more
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction ah, I see that now having watched a few more of your videos. Ever think about getting into a C8? Incredible value.
@@verdict1163 oh yes...I'm very tempted lol
Sell that boat. I mean challenger
Ruben Santana lol...now why would I want to do that...
Love the C6 Z06 And that C4 looks nice nice too in your garage and the Trans Am
martin sledge thank you, videos coming on both really soon! Gotta love automotive!!!
Hey Mike, I have gone back to an 08 Zo6 after being in Z51 Stingray for the past 2 years. Recently I had installed H/C/I + headers, X pipe and tune for 581 RWHP/513 TQ. The C7 Zo6 typically puts out 550-560 RWHP so you should be close in terms of HP. Without forced induction a C6Z will struggle to produce equal torque. Great video. Thanks.
Andrew Keith thank you so much! I'm hoping to get around 525ish and I think I should be pretty happy. Thanks for watching
I’m torn between a completely modded 715 WHP C6Z or bone stock C7Z
Your rambling shows that you really like your cars. Great Video!
Michael McClaine lol...yes I do tend to ramble a bit... thanks so much, love my cars and love sharing
Thanks. First time visitor. Love the collection in the Garage!! I want the garage too. lol. Checking your other vids now.
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy the channel!
Great info!
I love the C6 Z06 , engine 7.0 L
Ya they are amazing!!
Good video! Big advice is add headers to your zo6 with those h/c it will run amazing!! But use header wrap! My headers was burning a hole in my rear tub from the heat
Josh Rice thank you for that. I may yet do headers. If I get to 1k subs by Jan 1 I'm planning to do an intake, possibly headers at the same time. California is so restrictive when it comes to exhaust though
I owned a C6 Z06. One reason not to own one? Valve drop in the LS7. I went through 3 engines - first being a valve drop, the second was a shrapneled main bearing, and the third was an oil pump that went out.
neilbradley good to know... I'm hoping this car is dependable. I probably won't put more than 500 miles a year on it so hopefully it will last a long time for me
I probably should've specified that I tracked my Z06. Completely bone stock throughout the entire drivetrain. The second time the engine went bad it was sitting in my garage after not being driven for a couple of weeks. It's less likely that you'll see problems if you're only driving it on the street or an occasional track day. I also had a bunch of other problems, like driveline bearings went out, nav system stopped working, lots of rattles, active handling disabled itself (due to a misrouted wire), and a few other problems. Here's to hoping yours is better!
Also, supposedly the weak valves were in the 2006-2008 engines, with 2009 and later using stainless steel, I believe. You might want to look in to upgrades/bulletproofing it. Hope this helps!
neilbradley thanks for all the info. Yes I don't drive it hard just the occasional brisk run thru the gears but that's about it. I hope it stays together. What do you have now?
My Z06 was my track toy at the time, but I've since split my endeavors into two cars - a 2016 BMW M4 with a Dinan Stage 3 in it for the street, and a Palatov D1 track car. Take a look at a few of my on-track videos if you're so inclined.
I've been considering a C7 Z06. Love your 'vette collection!
Head cams and valve movement is guaranteed in C6's
Great Video. I️ love the passion you have. Subscribed.
Torian Williams thank you so much and thank you for subscribing!!
Appreciate the comparison. Good video.
Thank you for watching
Currently a C6 ZR1 owner, but I have no problem with C7 with better performance and more breathtaking looks. C7s are not more beautiful, but definitely more breathtaking.
Yes I will admit I do miss my C7 Z. It would he a tough choice for me between the C6 ZR1 and the C7 Z06. I think what amazes me most about the C7 platform is all the technology
the c7 zo6 is a bad ass car and c6 is also a badass car i have a base c6 i wish i could get a zo6 just when you get the c7 zo6 back keep both
Jorge Diaz lol I will keep that in mind. Thank you for the comment 😊
Bad ass Vette
Honestly the c6 and c5 looks better and can b faster than the c7. Also great buy
Jen Gal thank you...I'm really happy with my decision to get rid of the C7 and go with the C6
I'm looking at picking up a 2009 z06, was thinking about selling a car or 2 I never drive then I see this vid of you hoarding all these cars and I don't feel so bad. I say the same thing you said, I'm not rich, money is always an issue. I'm still thinking to sell some cars that are never driven, why do you keep so many? PS, your garage looks great. Very rare I see somebody here with a garage bigger than mine, and yours is just cars! I really need to be cleaning mine up.
I LOVE automotive...its an addiction and truthfully if I had the money and the room I would keep them all. Thanks for watching 👍
You have a bigger engine, add a super charge and will be faster then a C7
Truthfully the heads and cam swap was enough to put it right there with the C7
Hey my buddy has his own shop and the c6 zo6! With heads, cam, intake, and full exhaust on 93 octane he hit 590 whp! It is no joke. With all that the car should be faster than a stock c7 zo6!
al good to know, thank you!!
I have a 2012 Grand Sport. I chose that over the Z06 because of the motor. I know engineers that work for GM that say the LS 3 IS THE BEST motor they ever produced. With an LS7, granted you have bigger displacement and 75 more HP bit YOU WILL NEVER GET 30MPH on the highway with an LS7. I don't know why you even said that. Get the heads (yes LS-7's have faulty heads). I wouldn't even drive it until you get the heads redone. You're taking a chance. By the way. I don't like the square Camaro taillights of the C7. Morimoto lights, Corsa Exhaust , and an aftermarket supercharger and my a
i own a c6 z06 and its not far from 30 mph, owned a ls2 before and its not a huge diffrence.
When it comes to ls7 vs Ls3 its not just the hp it also the charcter of the engine, tall gearing makes for super fun driving.
Thats what made me go with Z06 insted of a GS.
Big down side is that you cant remove the roof
Sold my 2012 GS to CARMAX and purchased a one owner, no accident, all original, only 13,167 miles, black 2007 Z06. What a blast! This Z06 puts the fun back into driving. The Grand Sport was a good starter Vette but the Z06 is HANDSDOWN BETTER!!!
Z06 Is much better than GS. I was making 495 wheel and getting 34 miles to the gallon on highway. now that I make much power, my gas mileage is really bad 😆 🤣. but love the Z06. only good thing about LS3 is that it can be boosted
L
I have 1985 corvette in very good shape with 60 thousand miles and a 2004 Commemorative edition.Im gonna be selling the 85 and getting either a base 2015 corvette or a 2012 or 2013 grand sport in the spring of next year. The z06 is a little out my reach right now.I probably could swing it but if something was to happen I'll be in a struggle to pay for it so I'll just settle for what I can payoff now.But I'll probably get the C6 because I never had one and then later on sell my C5 and get the C7.
martin sledge the C6 is a great car! Definitely an upgrade over the C5 which is still a great car. I think you will be very happy with your purchase 👍
LS 7 is the KEY!
News Flash: You are rich, you just don't know it. Hell I'm rich and I have 1/2 the cars you do.
Oh yes I agree... however there are are multiple levels of rich and I'm at a much lower level lol
Nice car and collection! My goal in the next 2-5 years is to own a vette. Either a heavily modded c5z or heads/cam/headers c6z. Who knows maybe c7z just depends where my job takes me. I’ve always been a boosted 4 banger owner. I think it’s time to grow up. 😂
Liked, subscribed!
Taylor Weese thank you...Yes t has a vettes are amazing!! I just picked up a C5Z as well...it's in the video about trading the prowler.
Thanks for the sub and good luck!!
I’d take C6Z over any C7Z all day. C6Z is just fucking sexy.. and yeah that LS7 is brutal.
diaBolicaL 88 it's been so long since I have driven my C6 Z I have basically forgotten. I really hope to get it back soon. Thanks for watching and the comment
Assuming you pick a decent cam and headers and have a good tuner, the C6Z is gonna impress you. At that point it'll easily hang with a stock C7Z, at least in terms of straight line performance. You should'nt have any problem hitting 550/520 with just about any H/C & headers.
Adam Wicker thank You! I'm not planning to touch the exhaust at this point. California and t heir smog laws make it impossible to do any type of headers. But if I can be in the 525 range I'll be pretty happy
It can be done. I did 500rwhp with a H/C, no intake mods and no exhaust mods either ona rather warm day, heat soaked numbers too. A good clean run and a properly selected cam will do cam only+intake 500-515rwhp all day long. Just stick with moderate durations with lower LSA's and you'll be fine.
Adam Wicker I'm glad to hear that. I think I'm going to be happy with it!!
Mike Hill have you heard of the "c6 z06 muffler mod" check out this short 1min video, and tell me what you think man! Still debating if I should get it done. ua-cam.com/video/MQ48rJI1Now/v-deo.html
Pelon771 definitely give the car a better and louder sound. And even if you had to pay someone to do it I'm sure cheaper than going with a cat back system.
If you do it you will have to tell me how you like it
Looks like you’ve got quite a collection of cars. I’m partial to the C6. I have two Grand Sports. Love both. A little issue with one. 2011 has a random misfire. It’ll show itself sooner or later. 2013 is bad ass. Great video. I’ll be watching.
Owen McWhorter thank you, yes I am definitely a car nerd. I appreciate the support. Keep in touch!
Its easily quicker than a c7 zo ABOVE 70 mph. Its the launch that needs help. It has a higher top speed than the C7 Zo and about the same trap speed in the 1/4
Not sure if you already mentioned it,but the LS7 have valve issues. It might be in your best interest to care of that,or else it will drop a valve(s).
the unknowngamer yes I have heard that but I really appreciate it.
That's when people ask to much of the valvetrain or don't update the springs. Springs fatigue in high rpm situations and the answer is to upgrade the springs after miles of high rpm use. Even the best aftermarket springs fail under high rpm and need to be replaced every 20k miles of hard use to be safe. I got only 11k out of one brand name set and was shifting at 7500rpm on an ls6 block.
Jess of All Trades I may be ok then, I usually don't take it past 6k or so. I'm usually pretty easy on my cars
Your not going to have any problems. People like to talk about the ls7 but the fact is it's one of the most durable factory motors you can get. It has many high end titanium and stainless parts in it from the factory. It is designed to handle high rpms from the factory, henceforth the 7k rpm ability from factory. You will be fine and I wouldn't worry about running it to 7k on occasion with out worry. Later if you get a cam you could update to prc stainless double springs heat treated super metal alloy. Please subscribe to my channel and ill do the same for your channel. Thanks!! Nice ride man!!
Jess of All Trades thank you, just subscribed.
another great video
Eddie Stamp thanks buddy
just needs to be an 08 so you can have the tr6060 instead of the t56
Kiefer C I haven't driven an 08. Is there a notable difference?
Mike Hill tr6060 shifts like butter and is a bit stronger too, also slightly different gear ratios
Kiefer C I've been interested in vettes forever, and I never knew this ,thank you.
thanks for vid // like that Cobra sitting off to the side.
john Fetzer thanks for watching. More coming on the Z very very soon
right on my garage about 15min away in modesto very similar to yours. lets cruise sometime 🤘
Turbodatshit09 you're always welcome to stop by and check out the shop
who knows! You may skip over going back to the C7 and get a C8! I just wish I could afford to buy a C6!
No desire for the C8...yet!! C6 is a great platform, hope you can get yours some day
Thank you!
you got a c4 and a c6..yay me too...I got a 2005 6 speed z51 and a 1995 6 speed
Carlos Armenta that is really cool! Corvettes really are a lot of fun!!
love my c6 ZR1 but that new c7 is catching my attention. are you a 209 local?
Turbodatshit09 ya the C7 is an amazing car no doubt. I love the C6 ZR1, beautiful cars!! Yes I'm in the 209 area code...turlock area
I may be doing the same thing myself. I have a 14 base and I just always loved the c6 z06. Would you go from a c7 base to a c6 z06? Would definitely save a little on payments also
I honestly havent driven the base C7 but I would say it would be a good trade especially if you can save a monthly payment
Bad ass car man I'm almost positive I saw that on Craigslist!!
bigwilly94 thank you. Ya they both were on craigs
Mike Hill that's crazy! I just sold my 06 corvette and have been looking for a c6 z06 and saw that on there. Glad someone with a channel got it! Looking forward to more videos
bigwilly94 thank you and I hope you get one soon. Definitely more on the way 👍
I think there is room for another row of cars from the view in the 'loft' lol.
Jason Hill I think you may be correct lol
Nice car man. I’m looking at an 06 Z06. It’s the newest one I can afford
You wont be disappointed, for the $ it's the best bang for the buck
Mike I just want to know what you do for a living to have a nice garage full of sweet toys? I am very willing to change careers to get half of the toys you have. LOL
Rick Kunz ha ha, thank you! I actually did a video a couple back where I did a Q&A and that was one of the questions I answered. Thanks for watching and happy New year
Thanks.
Beautiful collection
Thank you...a lot has changed even since this video and more changes coming
Where in Cali are you & who's doing your work? FYI, Cunningham Motorsports is the BEST, hands down in Late Model Performance. Ryan is in Murietta, CA & he did both my 2008 C6Z & 2016 C7Z, along with a 2011 Camaro SS I built. I just caught the name Josh, so I assume you have a place already. I don't know if I could dump my C7Z for the 2008 Z06, in my opinion it's a sizable step down. Granted the C6Z is an incredible machine, I love my Vettes, been owning them since 1989 & on #'s 13 & 14. Good luck with your build.
OG K I'm central valley, Turlock specifically. Yes my car is Still at the shop...still torn down and allegedly still waiting for parts. It's very frustrating. I don't mind a little wait but it's been over 3 months now for a simple heads and cam...
Ok, you're a bit east. When I first moved to Cali in 2009, it was to Pismo Beach for a year. But I didn't like watching paint dry, needed a bit more excitement. Granted the waves were good & I could surf almost every day, but it was a bit sharky there. Then moved down to Redondo Beach in LA, where I've been since. That's insane waiting for over 3 months for heads & cam! If you ever feel like switching it up, check out Cunningham Motorsports, they're true LS specialists. You need to start hitting up some of the Shift-Sector Airstrip Attacks with some of those whips, get you over 155 mph! They're usually in Coalinga, CA when they have them in central Cali, 2 days of close to & beyond 200 mph & good fun. I subscribed, so I'll check in on you & see what's new.
OG K thank you for the info and the support. Yes I am very frustrated with the lack of progress or completion on my car... I hope to get it back some day and am more than willing to consider other options. A trip to LA isn't that bad and to have parts on time and a reasonable completion would be well worth it. Thanks again
"I'm certainly not rich" Hahaha hard to believe, but I loved your video sir!
Keith Rose thank you very much!!
Mike, I just subscribed to your channel. You seem like a cool dude. I love the garage you have. I've got a 1976 C3 Stingray with an LS1/T56 6-Speed I'm trying to sell so I can get a C6. Let me know if you know anyone that is interested.
Keith Rose thanks for subscribing and sounds like you have a really cool build in that vette. Sure you wanna get rid of something like that??
It is in fact really cool. I would keep it if I only had the funds and the space for both. ua-cam.com/video/njgUrJ-jYzk/v-deo.html
Keith Rose just watched the video. I really like the build and the way the car is done. If you were closer I would at the very least come take a look. Sweet Ride man!!👍👍
I personally love my 2009 c6 z06.. and drive it daily and wouldnt have it any other way.
They are amazing machines!!
You can do heads exhaust fast or msd intake dyno tune ... so everything but a cam and get 540 rwhp!
Derek Dalman that's good to know. Doubt I'll do exhaust, maybe intake at some point and hopefully heads and cam will be done some time before 2017 has ended....hopefully
Mike Hill ... Mike.. it's not hard to exceed the power of a stock C7Z. The ls7 heads yes need to be rebuilt cnc
ported and milled as much as you can with your gas octane availability. My buddy has a mild cam / stock intake / 280 fully ported AI heads and 1 7/8 LTs. On 91 dynod 577/536 with Drs he runs consistent 10.6s at 134. Enjoy bud! 😁
Derek Dalman those are some impressive numbers. I know the car is capable of over 600 at the wheels with just a few more mods. I can't wait to get it back
you need antoher wheels and black ZR1 package or your package in Carbon no Silver and the front Pumper with chrom grid !?
Thanks, I'll let the new owner of the car know 👍
I just love the c7 z06 internals and the fact u don’t have to open the motor. We getting charged 4-8k to do a full heads and cams and LTH setup meanwhile 2,500$ u got a 680whp setup for a c7 and never have to open the motor
That's very true. The C7 is amazing but a bit heavy. Getting the weight down to C6 or 5 standards would make the car so much faster
Extreme Automotive Addiction c6 is very simple, you need to really trust a shop and u will always end up on top. Me I rather go c7 where u can literally do everything yourself and all u need is a good tuner at that ponit.
C6 has so much mis info being spread online about heads and this and that. I just got so sick, then when I hear how much money u need to spend just to get it to run without dropping a valve I’m like fuck c7 makes more sense.
But I love c6 but it’s not what it looks like. The side story broke my heart and till this day I’m afraid to buy one lol I have bad experiences with shops
@@elevatedperformance I hear ya. If money is no object then I would choose the C7, the technology is amazing and they are a beautiful design.
Right bow I have a C5 Z and love it, for the price it suits me
Extreme Automotive Addiction what happened was the 2015’s are gonna drop into the 40’s by next year and probably stay there like the 2013 Shelby GT500’s are so they will be soon very affordable but yeah I’ve seen some c6’s Z06 at the auction for 24-27k with 40-50k miles so they def in that price. But I just hate u can’t part out the car when u wanna sell Bc heads and cams
CAN SO RELATE TO THIS MOVE OF YOURS JUST TRADED 2015 C7 ZO6 CONV WHICH WAS A P.O.S. ON SO MANY LEVELS ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY, FOR A 2013 COLLECTOR 427 CONV WHICH IS SO HIGH IN QUALITY AND COMFORT AND FIT AND POWER AND PURE DRIVING EXPERIENCE, I WILL NEVER RECOMEND ANYONE EVER BY A C7 Z06 ---EVER---
Wow...I'm sorry your C7 was such a pile... the C6 is a great platform, I hope you really enjoy it
I finally bought one!! 2007 Ron Fellows with low miles!! #294 of 399 made. Can you tell me what steering wheel that is? I love it!!
Congrats!!! I dont remember what steering wheel it is but I think someone posted it in s comment (maybe on this video) if you want to weed thru them
Extreme Automotive Addiction i found it online. Looks like Apsis makes it, based out of NY. Now I just have to see if it’s worth the labor to install. Otherwise I should probably keep it stock.
C6 Z06 is a huge upgrade over the fat and heavy c7.
After owning both they both have their pros and cons for sure
Yeah the c7 is a nicer car but it can't compare with the C6 z06
@@ViperMods_216 for me it's apples to oranges. The C6 is more brutal and raw, the C7 is more refined
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction that's what I mean it's a nicer car haha
HEY! i met you at stark whether i had the base model orange ls3
CaliBoy yes, I remember... how's your car doing?
Mike Hill its doing well... im getting my heads done after christmas :)
CaliBoy good deal... I'm still waiting on mine
Hows the car running ! Looking to get one but the valve guide issues are a scary thought on a 14k motor
Car is still running great! I don't own it anymore but still talk to the guy who bought it. He has done a few more tricks and it is now right at 600whp...running great!!
NOW THAT IS A GOOD LOOKING C6. DO A FULL NA BUILD AND NEVER BOOST IT LIKE THE AVERAGE JOE. 600+HORSEPOWER (CRANK) I S WAY MORE IMPRESSIVE NA THAN 600+BOOST HORSEPOWER👎 BOOST IS 💩
Autopia Alana Lewis thank you very much!!
What steering wheel is that?
snakeskinner2 truthfully it was on the car when I bought it so not really sure. I think someone mentioned the name in one of the comments some time back but i forget now, I'm sorry!
MDH Automotive ...im asking because oddly enough I'm looking at picking up a c6z06 and it has the same steering wheel
snakeskinner2 it's a cool wheel with the flat bottom and the carbon look but a bit thick for my taste. Still I like it better than the stock wheel. Good luck with the Z purchase, I'm sure you will love the car 👍
Shouldn’t have done it c7z way better
LS>LT
Sikluz562 for sure...
How do you plan on getting the car smogged after the heads and cam package?
It passed just fine
Which has been your favorite so far?
That nodded C6 will be an animal but I prefer the C7 platform
Stock vs stock the cars are very close in speed, with a cam and heads this car would blow away a C7Z06 in straight line speed.
James Betts thank you, at this point I just wanna get the car back. Hoping very soon
Nice having full NA as well. The new one has to pull in a supercharger. Think they should have saved that for the ZR1 or such, but guess they have their competition HP they need to compete with.
i drive mine every day and i make sure i smash and embrass every other car on the road muahahaha.
Hey what’s a good quality and reliable shop for cam heads and everything my dad has a 07 z06 he wants done but done the best
We have a few good shops in this area but none i can really endorse personally as i havent really used them.
I am sure there are some good shops in the Sacramento area just be sure to check reviews and make sure they stick closely to what they promise you (time, price etc).
Best of luck!!
Do you still have C6? Did you do anyone head work?
No it has been sold bit yes I did heads and cam to it
What is a ballpark price for a big steel building like that around your area (California, from the license plates)? I'd like to have something even half that size put in here in oklahoma. What are your dimensions or square footage there?
Cade Johnson yes sir I'm in California, actually have family in Oklahoma. My building is 50 x 80 and completely turn key it was a bit over 100k but that's with electrical, insulated, bathroom, loft, electric doors etc. I'm sure you can do better back in OK
After I asked this, I searched around and finally found an installer who actually lists their prices on the website (not as easy to find as you'd think...) in Norman. I was looking at the 30x40 with 12 foot ceilings. Website says that with a concrete pad, walk-in door, and a roll-up door, the installed building will cost 16,800. That's really much better than I'd expected. I don't mind running my own conduit and wiring/lighting it up and I don't need a loft or bathroom, so this should do just fine for me. I just want a place to wrench and that I can fit a lift and a few project cars inside.
Cade Johnson ya that sounds very reasonable. Best of luck with your building. I have family in the Poteau area, not sure how far that is from Norman but I know I see signs for it when I come thru to visit
Heads and cam C6 Z06 will easily take down a stock C7 Z06. Just watch out for the valve clearance issues on the LS7
ohgodwhat1 so I have heard... thank you
It'll take more than HC to take down a C7 Z0.
are there still valve issues for 2012 ?
06-13 have valve problems
Hmm you own 12 other cars, clearly a HUGE garage, and are talking about modding some other cars BUT needed to trade your C7Z06 to free up money for a kitchen remodel? Don't get me wrong LOVE rhe c6z but something smells funny. Great video tho.
Scott Carey my problem is I just can't resist the next car...so I always find a way. But the pocket book does have limits. Also got lucky on the kitchen remodel and it cost me about a third less than I budgeted for 👍
Hello! I’m looking at buying a stock C6 Z06. If I get the heads looked at, do you think it’s better to put some kind of better cam in the car, or did you find the car more balanced in keeping a stock cam? I’ve heard you could lose low end torque fun when you change cams. What are your thoughts? Is the car still a lot of fun and plenty fast stock? Thanks.
Yes the car is plenty fun and definitely fast enough stock. I did a break the Cam when I upgraded the heads and the performance gains were noticeable. I would suggest doing at least both if that's the course you decide to take
Loose it probably at 3k rpm’s but who’s racing that low
Headers and exhaust need to go with heads and cam package.
motocrossriders2002 agreed but in California smog is a pain with headers...plus very happy with the results as it is
Good point, my 08 Z06 doesn't have headers, because I live in CA. I did put a Borla ATAK muffler on it, for now.
motocrossriders2002 i bet it sounds really good. I do like the mild to wild. I can really make it very quiet and unassuming
Great Video. I know the C7 is an amazing car, but to have sold it and gotten a C6 Z06 and the Challenger... sounds like a sweet deal. I’m looking at purchasing my 1st Corvette. A C6, maybe somewhere between an 05-07. Just depends on cost. Anything I should know? I’m looking at a 05 C6 base with 91,000 miles and it’s under 13k. Any thoughts on it? God Bless and have a great day.
Malcolm Clough the C6 is a great car, I loved mine and it was just over 100k miles. As long as it's clean and has been maintained well you shouldn't have any problems. Welcome to the Corvette family!!
13k ?? make sure its not salvaged.
You have some cool cars in the garage. You have good taste.
studdaman420 thank you!!
MDH Automotive 👍😎👌
Smart move!
blue thunder thank you!!
Thats a Carvaggio steering wheel
Stavros Gavrilis thank you very much!! It's a little thick but I do like it
Mike Hill Caravaggio sorry I spelled it wrong but they do have a website expensive stuff I may add.
It has 505 horse stock?
Yes
I’m in Sacramento area
Not too far away
Nice garage
Thank you!!
Big bank Hank
How would you compare the C5 and C6? I'm considering a C6 right now.
The C6 is a better car overall. It depends on what you want to spend really
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I'm looking to spend around $20k, plus or minus a bit. Probably not going to buy until the fall/winter when there's a bit of a discount.
@@IronicTonic8 and you're wanting a Z06 or more of a base model?
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I'm looking at a base model, optimally a 2008+.
@@IronicTonic8 you should be able to get into one for around 20k
If you don’t mind my asking, how much did you pay for your C6...?
(Not sure If you mentioned it, if you did, my apologies...)
36k....about 18 months ago
Extreme Automotive Addiction Thanks... I’m looking to buy my first Corvette soon... Appreciate you answering... 👍🏾👍🏾
@@MCClark you looking for a C6 Z?
Extreme Automotive Addiction I will be in around 3- 9 months...
Those wheels..lol
why not a c6 ZR1?
tao l trust me, I would have went that route had I found one. Aren't as many for sale out there
Plenty of ZR1's available nationwide if you know how to find them. I purchased two this year with less than 2,500 original miles and both 2011 model year. The advantage of the ZR1 is that it is a better motor than the LS7 and will hold value in the future and likely gain value as it becomes harder to find in the market. My current ZR1 has only an E85 conversion and free flowing exhaust and it makes almost 630 WHP. Once I add boost it should be over 700 easily
jimsviperyahoocom man that's good to know. I would have loved a ZR1 but alas I went with the Z06. Love the car and REALLY looking forward to getting it back
ZR1 is badass but you cannot beat the the price of a C6Z06 these days. I am looking to buy one this winter. LS7 is a legendary motor even with the valve issues.
You bought the Challenger instead of doing the kitchen remodel! Your wife is loading your .45 as we speak!
LOL yup I am in fact speaking to you from the grave right now as a matter of fact 🤪

Where'd you get you front splitter from?
It was on the car when I bought it
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction I honestly dont know if I'm a fan of the c7 vet. I dont Iike what the did to the tale lights on it. I have a 09 c6.
@@ExtremeAutomotiveAddiction even the front bumper on the c7 looks terrible compared to the front end on the c6
@@americanpatriot9812 I hear ya, it took a while for me to warm up to them
Everything is about taste.... I will always stay with c6 ...c7 for many is a gorgeous car for me a mix of porsche and toyota i don't know why but gm lost the concept of corvette with the c7 ...
panzer waffen I still love them all from the C1 right on up but I am happy with my decision and don't see going for a C7 or 8 anytime soon. As a matter if fact I just picked up a C5 Z and rr ally loving that as well
Mike Hill hey man thanks for responding ....you made the right decision drive what you like ...c5z good one ...in red?
panzer waffen would you believe silver... should look good next to the C6. I have a video about trading the prowler and you can see th C5 in that plus we take it for a little ride 👍
Mike Hill well no matter the color lol and yes next to her sister it must look great...gonna check that video of the ride
