Saw bobbin winder vdeo from Bob and clicked to watch immediately. Excellent tutorial - thank you! (I think Singer must have had a prophet who knew one day some guy would do some kind of tutorial that would be available for people all over the world to watch any time they liked. This was, they thought, just wonderful and to be vigorously encouraged and supported.
They knew bobbin winders were going to be a bit mysterious and challenging for future generations to service themselves. And everyone would really want a good, working bobbin winder on their machine - and were likely to stop using the machines if the bobbin winders stopped working. So, in order to support future online tutors, they didn't set about making a simple winder that works perfectly on every model of machine and never breaks down or wears out. That wouldn't do at all! Perish the thought. Instead they set about doing the only decent thing by ensuring that whoever this guy was they'd never run out of source material (that is, different styles of bobbin winder)! And that prophet, of course, got himself transferred to Singer's bobbin winder design department... :-)

Bod, last Friday night I watched one of your videos mounting a 66 bobbing winder. It took me 4 hours figuring out how to because I was screwing the wrong screws on the wrong parts😅. The funny thing is after all that work at the end of the video you mentioned that the bobbin winder will need some adjustments when put back in the machine. I totally lost it😮😅😅😅. I realized that my brain was the one to be adjusted 🤣🤣. Yes my first rodeo with bobbin winder and yes probably will need to redo it. Thanks

I have three 66 machines . Are they all have the same bobbin winder?

Oh, not even close! There are several different bobbin winders that were used over the 60 or so years of production of the 66.

Are there other models with interchangeable parts for the 66?

There are several machines which have parts that are interchangable with the 66. Many parts from the 99 will fit, some screws - such as certain pivot screws - from machines such as at 15 and 27/127 will also fit. Likewise, there are some screws from the 201 that are also used.
