- First, a huge thank you to Jen at Sewing Machine Rehab for alerting me to this auction this past Thursday. She knew of an issue I was looking for more 301's, so when she saw this one she messaged me with a link telling me that this one was real close to me. I went to the site, put in a bid and the next day at 3PM the auction went off and sure enough, I won! I made arrangements to pick it up today (Sunday) and what you see in this video is us seeing it in person for the first time.

I wish my wife was as supportive when I bring home machines! 👍❤
What a great little machine!! I love the 301's! Agree...a major win!!!
Oh WOW! One helluva great win. I'm so glad she followed you home. :-)
A steal indeed. Awesome! I had a win too, I got given a 319 with all its cams. Also in great order. Hurray!
The shortbed 301’s came with the lower plug for a foot controller when using them in a 301 table with the cradle mount.
The longbed 301’s usually had the dual plug set up, as they were meant to be portable only.
I believe the first slant needle model Singer made….revolutionary at the time.
Nice find!
Wow, what a steal ! I bought one just like it a couple years ago at a thrift store for $65.00. That one looks like she's ready for the races.
301 for the win! Such a nice machine. 🦋
Score!!!
She is in great shape! Nice sound too!
That is a great deal! I absolutely love my 301. It can be a real workhorse. Yours sounds a bit noisy as you probably already know. Or perhaps it is just the microphone 🥴 congrats on a great find!
Looks fairly clean, too!
A little over a year ago, I placed a $20 bid on a singer 301A. I wanted the sewing machine for the original bobbin case but it was such a nice sewing machine I kept it. I ended up paying $5 plus the auctioneers fee at about $10 in fuel to go down and pick it up.
Nice find. I found one a few years ago for about the same price. Cleaned it up and made a good profit on it. Pity they don't make them with this quality any more.
that's a win for sure. Use it well.
Awesome! A steal! I had one too, last week I was given 2 machines. One is a 319 with all its cams, in great order. The other, a poor little Bernina 125 Standard. Hurray for low cost machines!
Fun! Enjoy her.
She is a lovely machine and sounds really good.
Noice! and We'll done!
I bought a mocha in #40 table in an online auction for about the same. Presser foot was stuck...fixed it, and now runs like a top.
That is an awesome find, congrats.
Happy Cinco de Mayo......have fun.
Nice one of my favorites
It had to be a machine or a cat. Nice machine.
that is so cool! Have fun!!
Nice! I just scored one also. Had to find a manual elsewhere. Hope you make some videos for this one.
Bob, i know you know your stuff, but the stitch length is changed when you push the level up and down then when you get the length where you want it you tighten the lever in place with screw, that way you can put it reverse and bring said lever back down you end up being at the stotch length you have locked her down on. Not trying to be a smart a$$. Love, love your channel and watch every one. Hello ti Liz and the kitties ❤
Yes, I'm well aware of that. My wife was nervous when she was put on the spot for the video is all...
I knew what it was when I saw the case. Mine is black. That is a great score for a great machine. They are work horses. I have both a short bed and a long bed, one in a cabinet and one in a case, with a table for each. This might be my favorite Singer machine. I like it for machine quilting.
Is it a 1952 or 53? It has the black tension dial and the black bottom pan.
Sweet Jesus. Finally, the channel has the utmost class.Liz has entered the picture.... Hugs brother bob....ken
She DOES lend a certain air of class... I know... LOL
It sounds kinda clangy, clanging..... or is that suppose to be the way it sounds.
