- Viewer Jan contacted me about some issues she was having with this machine. We spoke on the phone, and when she sent me pictures of the machine, I knew I wanted to be the one to work on it...

Nice machine. I have a Nelco in beige that is almost exactly like the Singer 15-91, except it has a nob to drop the feed dogs for FMQ. I love it. It is for my granddaughter who sewed on it ONCE. lol. Good intentions.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! It sure is looking better. I never would have gotten that linkage fixed.
Thanks again Bob!
Funny thing, my uncle was in J-Force. Can't imagine the horrors he saw. The allies did a really good job of helping Japan to rebuild after the war. "Made in Japan" eventually became a mark of quality. The extras that were put on the Singer plans that Japan was given brought those solid basic machines just a little more up to date. Sadly, in another 20 or so years, their tech had advanced so much that many sewing machine companies couldn't compete. I do have some "clones", but mine are the Vickers 27 & 15 type, and Necchi Supernova 15 type.
Bob, I love that Bel Air machine.
You did a great job, you would never know it was rusted!
I used to have a real Bel Air, Chevrolet.
I have only one Occupied Japan machine. It's a Mercury Electric.
Probably looks most like a model 15. But also has similarities with other Singer models.
Hard to believe this machine was rusted. GREAT work, as usual, Bob! Just wonderful!
I love that Made in Occupied Japan Machine! So historic! ❤
There are several singer clones. I have one that says Peerless . Thanks for sharing, great video as always!
Pretty cool!
That's really interesting. I wonder what they were thinking by using a stitch length regulator cover that prevented the mechanism from doing proportional back stitches. I suspect that we'll never know why would they have done that.
A Treasure restored! Thanks for the history lesson! Cool stuff!
I've got a couple of Bel-Aires. They are not bad machines.
