When I was younger, I wished Brooke gave him another chance. Now I'm 36 and I've been in her shoes. Sometimes you pour your whole heart into someone and they still don't "get it" until it's too late. Gary is saying all the right things, but I doubt he would follow through with his promises in the long term.

Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t. But the point is, Brook couldn’t know and, justifiably, wasn’t willing to take the leap again. Still felt bad for Gary, but sometimes you need that realization. So you can learn for future relationships.

@Han Solo burger but that's the whole point of being together. It's not all about you, it's about the other person just as much. It's impossible to be a happy, supportive couple and only do things one of you wants to do. Sometimes you have to do something you don't like simply to make your partner happy. And it's not because they told you to, not because you're being forced to. It's because you love them enough to choose their happiness over your own for one evening a month. That's not asking a lot. Women tend to make this kind of sacrifice without even thinking about it, which is what she had been doing. But he wasn't, and not only that, but when she did ask him for support, he would come up with every excuse just so he didn't have to do anything that made him the slightest bit unhappy. That's where he failed her and lost her.

It's crazy how men here believe the woman was wrong. He practically behaves like a teenager that needs orders from his mother.
This is not his mother. Is his partner.
She stated every single time what she wanted from him, what she needed. They both worked, and still she was the one coming home and doing all the work for him like she actually was his mother.
And men still get the "say how you feel" card out.
    SERIOUSLY?
HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE?
I mean it. Did you pay attention?
And to the mothers and fathers here, raise your kids, all of them, to be independent from anyone in any form. They will appreciate it when they get older.

Women leave when they finally accept the fact that the person they have tried so hard to fix, is never going to come around. Women go to extreme lengths to stay in a relationship. But once a woman is done, she is done. Women do not lack options. They may lack self-confidence and self validation, which is why they stick with even the worst kind until all their motherly instinct dries up. So when a woman gives up one you, you're never getting another chance. Why? Because she's already given you enough chances.
