That's not how any of this works. Sexual orientation is a REAL thing. There are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, etc. people. We don't fall for the person. @@misshope8297 Honestly same. My mother felt naive after I came out because all of her friends said they saw coming and she didn’t. Why? Because I don’t play sports? Because I mind how I dress? None of it had anything to do with it. Most of my friends are like me in that regard and are straight. Yet I’m sure if any of them had come out instead of me, they would’ve said the same shit about how “they saw it coming”. It’s just pure confirmation bias. Honestly my mother was the smart one for not thinking those things made me queer, but she ended up feeling like the blind one because of their dumb comments.
Robin’s coming out scene has my heart. Stranger things is set in the 80s in America, she could’ve been shot by people if word was to get out. And she felt comfortable enough to say it to Steve. And Steve responded in the best way afterwards too, he didn’t really comment on the fact she is a lesbian, instead he commented on her taste in women. It was so refreshing to see, because of course coming out is a big thing for someone to do and you’d expect people to say something about it, hopefully in a positive light like how heartstopper did with Sarah saying ‘thank you for telling me’ to Nick. But Steve not even commenting on it is even more powerful. It’s almost like he’s saying ‘okay, well that’s a part of you so now I know, I can talk with you about it’ and it makes me so happy. Makes me think that maybe one day the world will be like that, where people won’t even have to ‘come out’ they can just go home one day and say they’re in love with whoever. If I was to have two kids in the future, I would love for them to both come home one day and one would say they’ve got a crush on someone of the opposite sex, and the other would say they’ve got a crush on someone of the same sex, and I would talk to each of them about it in identical ways. I think that’s why the Duffer Brothers wrote it in after deciding Robin would be lesbian.
Was really hoping they'd include the rest of that Schitt's Creek scene - when David goes on to talk about labels. That scene was just so well done & I felt it really mirrored the way a real world convo might be struck up & how one (with as much comedic timing as Daniel Levy) may respond.

Matthew's coming out story is so fricken cute "I drove you to your tap classes"
She-ra doesn't have a coming out scene and yet it did so much queer-wise
Yeah ngl I think that's what made it so great bc no one ever questioned same-sex couples (I do understand why there are coming-out scenes in non-animated shows tho bc reality still makes coming out necessary)

Waiting for a world where there will be no coming outs....after all love is love.....u fall for the person....not the gender.....more power 🌈🏳️🌈❤️❤️
Same... That's exactly what I think
The wine not the label
That's not how any of this works. Sexual orientation is a REAL thing. There are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, etc. people. We don't fall for the person. Not if that person belongs to a gender we're not attracted to. Nobody does. Stop spreading that nonsense. Love and fuck whomever the fuck you want, but stop believing in realities that don't exist. And I'm not talking about God (who doesn't exist either, but that's another story altogether).

I really dislike the "I already knew" + *states the boy wanted a feminine object * trope someone coming out as gay.
_First_ it just puts the listener in the spotlight when they should congratulate him for finding the courage to do so.
_Second_ asking for a particular type of feminine thing as a young boy doesn't define you as gay?? If the kid just wanted it then I mean say no or yes but don't have gendered views on inanimate objects?
@semi exactly!! Thank you so much for agreeing, I'm tired of parents making our come out their moment of "yeah my gendered vision of you as a kid made me get you didn't like *gender * but this one instead". It's so dumb.
I only just started watching BoJack and I'm so happy to Asexual representation in it
Robin’s coming out scene has my heart.
I love Robin❤❤
Anyone else love her?
Likewise, I adored Robin from the very first second I saw her, and her confession made me love her even more! 😻

@@jenn1738 Is it though? Sure coming out can be scary but it can also be pretty liberating, it’s not like all of us live really depressing lives
@@erin8432 Although I agree it’s liberating, at the same time I would think it is tbh, while there are lots of people who had support when coming out, I don’t think I’m wrong when assuming the majority did not have a positive experience due to unaccepting family and friends and coworkers, etc. And I think it’s good to show that, because genuinely, that moment when you come out about yourself and you’re rejected for it, you’re denied and/or worse, it’s a horrible feeling. But, you keep going. And when you start to open up about yourself, you can come to realise who is truly there for you and who needs to be cut out of your life if they can’t accept it, and it allows you to move forward.

i kinda really love Eleanor's reaction to Fabiola coming out (Never Have I Ever). usually you get the straight girls that are like "omg i want a gay best friend... ew lesbians", but in this case, Eleanor's "i've always wanted a gay friend" literally just means she's wanted an LGBTQIA+ friend. doesn't matter if they're gay, lesbian, bi, pan, etc. she'll be their bestie
