@@66skate yes I really was. It was good representation but I think the best one from around that time was probably Jack in Dawson's Creek. They did an excellent job showing the struggles and stuff like that. And they didn't portray him as like ultra feminine or particularly masculine either. I was happy to see they weren't going with the stereotypes and just let him be him. I think Jack from Dawson's Creek is even some of the best queer representation even nowadays. Like they have a lot more good representation out there but I think Jack from Dawson's Creek is one of the best!

Well there kinda is a paper written on the subject your talking about and it’s called “Sonny Crockett: Boat Bachelor or Bi Icon”. It’s about this 80s show called Miami Vice and it examines its main character Sonny. Don’t wanna give away, like, too much of the essay but one part of it talks about the show doesn’t exactly reaffirms it’s main character’s straightness. It’s a really good essay (I’ve read it a thousand times now) and a really good show

Early Eric Matthew’s is the best thing on TV. He was originally written as such a fairly rounded, smart guy, and even though he lost some of that depth and maturity later in the series he was always the funniest. He was also the hottest by the skin of his teeth, and when you’re competing for screen time with Jack and Shawn AND Topanga that’s a feat. Add to that the sense of humor, the clear bisexual coding and the adorable personality!
They really said this was platonic and robbed us of their love 😭
