They did an excellent job showing the struggles and stuff like that. And they didn't portray him as like ultra feminine or particularly masculine either. I was happy to see they weren't going with the stereotypes and just let him be him. I think Jack from Dawson's Creek is even some of the best queer representation even nowadays. Like they have a lot more good representation out there but I think Jack from Dawson's Creek is one of the best!

I have never seen this show before, but after watching this adorable, out of context video, I can safely say I now have a yearning to watch the show just to see the two of them together
Early Eric Matthew’s is the best thing on TV. He was originally written as such a fairly rounded, smart guy, and even though he lost some of that depth and maturity later in the series he was always the funniest. He was also the hottest by the skin of his teeth, and when you’re competing for screen time with Jack and Shawn AND Topanga that’s a feat. Add to that the sense of humor, the clear bisexual coding and the adorable personality!
The writers knew what they were doing and did the best they could even through censorship and homophobia. Yes, men can be really good and close friends too, but this one, this is deliberate gayness.

Early Eric Matthew’s is the best thing on TV. He was originally written as such a fairly rounded, smart guy, and even though he lost some of that depth and maturity later in the series he was always the funniest. He was also the hottest by the skin of his teeth, and when you’re competing for screen time with Jack and Shawn AND Topanga that’s a feat. Add to that the sense of humor, the clear bisexual coding and the adorable personality!
