    • @Christian-rn1ur
      @Christian-rn1ur 4 роки тому +12

Some staples you should invest in if you're a student on a budget:
      Rice
      Pasta
      Eggs
Protein (cheapest you can find, usually sausages or bacon)
      Curry Sauce
      Onions
      Other veggies
      Potatoes
      Salt
      Pepper
      Olive Oil
      Soy Sauce
      Condiment (I prefer mayo)
Canned diced tomatoes or a tomato based pasta sauce
      Parmesan or Parmigiano Cheese
      Bread
      Butter
      Coffee
      Milk
Cheap cereal i.e cornflakes or porridge
      Fruit, including citrus fruit
There's tons of stuff you can do with these things. If you buy the value range stuff, you can get all of the above for about £10, and that will cover your food budget for almost two weeks.

rather i would assume i would find more vegetarians in the rural area where meat is either scarce or valuable that can be sold. they would very much want to eat meat as often as possible but simply do not have the choice to be able to eat them. i knew because of my volunteering trip to Cambodia and for the most part they eat a plant diet. they would only eat meat during a special occasion that they dun mind spending more to eat meat to celebrate the occasion.

@@bobbin321 plant based usually means a vegan. The difference between vegan and plant based is that vegan do not wear things like leather, nor do they use products that contain things like mink fur. Plant based means someone that doesn't eat meat, dairy or eggs however they still use items that contain animal products. Maybe next time educate yourself before you imply someone doesn't understand what they are talking about. c:

okay let me give everyone a list cause as a vegetarian it's really annoying when people don't know the difference: VEGETARIANS don't eat meat (which also means no fish, one of the biggest mistakes people make) PESCOTARIANS don't eat ''meat'' but do eat fish. VEGANS don't eat any animal products, so no meat, egg, milk, cheese etc.

I think he's using kosher salt, which is 1/3rd as salty as table salt and sea salt. I think professional chefs use it because it's waaay less expensive than the other stuff, and they don't like the iodine in table salt.

I just took notes on the video! Thanks, I really appreciate the fantastic video now I can have a great meal without that frozen veggie-burger crap! Here are my notes
Lightly Fried Premium Halloumi Courgette and Herb Cakes with a tomato and Watercress Salad
1.) Lay tomatoes on a tray. Tomatoes go into the oven for about 90 minutes, (you can even leave them in overnight at a low heat).
2.) Season the tomatoes with salt sprinkle over with some sugar as well. The salt and sugar combined speeds up the drying process.
    3.) Tyme flares pick em off the buds and sliced fresh garlic;
in 90 minutes you will see everything shrink down skin blistering and the tenderness in the juicy warm tomato. Extra virgin olive oil gives a nice earthy flavor to the tomatoes. Place the tomatoes in the oven preheated up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit
and cook long and slow for an hour and a half.
    Now for the Halloumi Cakes.
    1.) Peel the carrots
    2.) Peel the zucchini.
3.) Put that into a drainer.
4.) Sprinkle with salt for drying out the liquid in the vegetables.
    5.) Grade the halloumi cheese.
TIP: It is really important to squeeze out the excess water in the zucchini and carrots and strain it into a bowl.
6.) Mix it all in with the cheese.
    7.) Chop up fresh scallions.
8.) Season it with delicious fresh mint and fresh coriander.
whenever you are vegetarian you should always put a bunch of different combinations in there.
9.) Two eggs in a bowl, give it a mix.
10.) Add the eggs to the whole mixture.
11.) 2 table spoons of bread crumbs, bread crumbs really help dry out excess water.
12.) Mix all of the ingredients together, before you start heating these taste the mixture if you wait to cook them it will be too late to adjust the seasoning!
13.) Put it all into a large golf ball, and shape them into a little circular cake you can spice them up with chili in there!
When you get your cakes, you can put them into the fridge (uncovered) for 20 minutes.
    DRESSING:
1.) Slice red chili seeds and all in an angle into stars.
    2.) Chop fresh ginger.
3.) Season with sugar and some salt.
    4.) Add rice wine vinegar.
5.) Add a couple of table spoons of olive oil.
6.) Chopped coriander, and that's a sweet sour spicy dressing flavor!
7.) Now that the chili dressing is done, put your cakes into a hot oiled pan.
8.)It should have a nice crispy sound, and the halloumi cakes have a really vibrant color to them! As the cakes sizzle away you can finish off with the roast tomato salad
    ROAST TOMATO SALAD
1.) one of my favorite leaves has got to be border cress, chop a little bit of it into a bowl
bordercress and shallot rings go very nice together
2.) the shallot looks so dainty as you open up the ringlets sprinkle it onto the boarder and cress.
TIP: DON’T FORGET TO TURN YOUR CAKES ONCE OVER NOW
TIP: For the tomatoes, whatever you don’t use, use it as jargon.
1.) drop the slow cooked warm tomatoes over the watercress
    the sweetness is incredible
2.) dribble with aged balsamic vinegar, it gives a tarty flavor to the watercress
watercress is naturally peppery so it doesn’t need pepper!
3.) Season with a taste of salt and a light sprinkling of extra virgin olive oil.
TIP: After five minutes on a medium heat, the Halloumi Cakes are ready!
P.S: The cakes should not disintegrate as you grab them with a spatula and serve them up onto a plate.
5.) Sprinkle the dressing onto the cakes.
6.) Dump out the juice with the spoon as you keep the garnish and sprinkle it on to the halloumi cakes.
    Have a great time!

I'm offended by all these so called vegetarians being offended. If you're calling yourself a vegetarian, at least educate yourself on what that means. Vegetarians eat eggs. Vegans don't. Also, if you're a vegan don't click on a video that clearly states it is a vegetarian recipe in the title.
Thank you Chef Ramsay for this video. I, for one, am grateful you showed us a vegetarian recipe. :)

Lovely recipes and these videos are always enjoyable to watch, very cheery feel to them. Being vegan, I'll substitute eggs for chia seeds and water or a plant milk, and things like the Halloumi for tofu. It'll take some doing to slice it very fine though, you can't grate tofu, then again, if everything's gonna be mushed into patties then I suppose there's no need to be fussy copping up the tofu =P

Why is everyone talking about vegans in the comments? If you want to make this vegan just use like 2 substitutes. This video was just Ramsay showing a fucking recipe can we just watch the video.

Do you have a suggestion for substituting the eggs? I've yet to find something that is a good vegan substitute for eggs i cooking :( in baking I can do without but in something like this it's a bit tougher!
