Ah, but this game is a culmination of what the devs learned from the first two, and also draws in lessons from some of the historical titles like Three Kingdoms and Attila. It's very nature as the finale of this trilogy is what allows it to be so good.
The transformation of a mortal into a daemon prince has always been my favorite chaos lore across warhammer. It's what drew me to warhammer in the first place. I will personally enjoy playing this campaign.
Something cool I noticed. As you equip items on Tim, his skin color slightly changes towards whatever faction he's most biased towards with gear at the moment. It's a small detail but oh so good.
I wish they would do this customization with other factions, if they ever do a Dogs of War faction that would be a cool option for it's lord, I'd love to create my own version of the Grudgebringers. But imagine an Empire lord where you can choose to give him a greatsword, or sword and shield, or sword and pistol, and choose different heads and name him, I would LOVE that for Mortal Empires.
Dogs of war faction, a faction that only get 1 12 settlement city and is a pseudo-horde faction. (Think like maelstorm), but can create vassals and military alliances much, much easier (and put outposts anywhere without alliances like skaven with undercites). Could be a way to create their faction. Or instead of easier miltiary alliances would be that you dont get any penalty for leaving them. Since your military alliances was effectively just you being their mercenary for a short time
Almost makes me wonder if this is what they're pushing for in their future titles: Allowing a deep, but easy to balance, customization of either LLs or just regular Lords for weapons and maybe armor
I would love this customization for every faction. How amazing it would be to create my own unique Orc Warboss, or a crazy pimped out Dark Elf LL… oh the possibilities…
and so the circle is complete starting off as a mere necromancer in game 1 Tim the demon prince ascend to the highest state of being a mortal can ever hope to achieve may he find untold gifts and blessings in the 4 brothers and spread chaos across the world as he was always meant to do

My first Daemon Prince will be Mortimer. He was a daemon accountant for Slaanesh for millennia until he uncovered a massive embezzlement scheme and was promoted. He's a terrible daemon, to be fair.
The logistics of Slannesh's debauches would make any right thinking or wrong thinking being curl up in sheer misery/despair at the sheer magnitude of stuff required and how to shift it in any amount of time, even with the insanity of dealing with the Warp and Chaos in general.
One of the coolest short stories ever in any Warhammer book comes from the 6th Edition Hordes of Chaos Codex. It's about the bargain with a Daemon Prince and the long legacy of their influence in the world. It's called "The God of the Snaegr" and it goes a little like this: It was both yesterday and centuries ago that Urlf sat at the head of the great table in the hall of Snaegr in the land of Norsca. Yesterday and centuries ago because in the Realm of Chaos, time does not flow as time flows in the mortal world, but intersects with it in curious and unimaginable ways, so that time as he had once known it now seemed a slight and trivial thing. He flexed his wings, feeling ichor run through newly materialized veins. It had been centuries since he had felt a living pulse within his breast or the sensation of his own lungs working upon the air, or perhaps it had been but yesterday after all. He dismissed this curious notion and looked about him and knew that he stood once more in the hall of Snaegr in the land of Norsca - though the hall had decayed and been rebuilt many times over since he was here as a mortal man. "What cause do you have to bring me to the land of Men?" his voiced boomed across the hall. Its inhabitants shrank back in terror at the inhuman sound, for his voice was that of a daemon not that of a man, and the voice of a daemon reverberates in dark corners of the mind that might otherwise remain best undisturbed. Urlf looked about him and saw the ranks of warriors armed for battle, amongst their numbers one or two bearing the favour of the gods. His eyes fell upon the sorcerer who had made the summonation and he reached out, feeling at once the bonds of magic that both held and sustained him within the runic circle. The sorcerer's eyes glimmered with ecstasy induced by the raw magic within his body - a body visibly marked by the passage of power and the favor of the gods. It was not the sorcerer who spoke now but the tall warrior sat at the head of the great table - the chieftain of the tribe. "It is Grydal Lord of the Snaegr, who calls upon Urlfdaemonkin, for tomorrow we ride to war - and under the moon-time of Ulrf I ask for Daemon-blessing." Urlf watched this man make his statement as he had also made his statement so long ago when he too was lord of Snaegr. Or maybe it was not so very long ago, for this man Grydal had something of the look of Urlf's own son about him. Broad plaits of golden hair lay across his pale cheek as Urlf's own hair had once done. Now Urlf's mane was burning flame and his skin was as black as coal. His eyes were as red as embers and, as he spoke, the words rumbled from between tusks of gleaming iron. Such was the image drawn from the minds of his ancestral kin and such therefore was the material form of his immortal sprit. "You understand the bargain, Grydal Lord of the Snaegr?" asked the daemon - it was the ritual response a thousand times as old as even he. "I understand the bargain, Urlfdaemonkin." replied Grydal boldly, though Urlf could taste the terror that oozed from his soul - there is little that a mortal can hide from a daemon and less still from a daemon that was once mortal himself. "Then receive Khorne's blessing." growled Urlf, and the Lord of the Snaegr stepped forward to the edge of the runic circle, so close that the daemon could hear his heart beating and the warm red blood rushing through his fleshy body. Urlf reached out a massive claw and touched the man upon the brow. It was the slightest of touches, his talon barely caressing the man's skin, but the sudden release of power from within the circle sent Grydal flying through the air as if struck by a bolt of lightning. Grydal rose from the ground, his head pounding and his muscles aching with an agony a hundred times worse than any axe stroke he had ever suffered. The daemon was gone and where it had stood the ground was blackened as if by fire. He was aware of a strong bitter taint to the air that he had never smelled before. Every eye in the tribe was upon him and every mouth slightly agape, except for that of the sorcerer Hama, who gibbered incoherently as he writhed in the dirt. Grydal's own axe lay where it had fallen and he reached out to take it, noticing the furrow of exposed flesh that ran across his forearm in the crude shape of a skull - the mark of Khorne. His hands closed around the axe - hands that were his own and yet no longer the strong, broad hands that he had borne. These were black and scaly with long taloned fingers, claws very much like those of Urlfdaemonkin. As he grasped the axe, he felt a surge of energy within his breast and his head cleared, all sensation of pain falling from him. He rose to his full height - seemingly greater than before - and looked upon his warriors with a new confidence and new sense of purpose. He felt strong, he felt powerful, and he knew that he carried the blessing of his god as well as his mark. He raised the axe above his head. "The bargain has been made!" he roared. Hope people like this as much as I do, it took quite a while for me to transcribe it over here, I'm not a good scribe lol.
Happy to see more Warhammer as always; I tried the game myself, bought both 1 and 2...but I can't handle that much information input/output unfortunately, even at the easiest levels, so I'll have to content myself watching let's plays like this. Also, love seeing Cubheart, adorable as ever!

Unsurprisingly. First fight. Way overpowered. And Lionheart manages to get his only cavalry to half health despite it all. No, the flies don't count. Nurgle is the worst. XD
I love the potential customisation options for the Daemon Prince. Looks like it might be incredible for replayability. A friend of mine has well over a thousand hours in WHII and I jokingly said he'll never need to buy another game again with how good this new game looks.
lol who else was thinking 'sure...what could go wrong?' during the prologue. i love chaos and this might get me to buy the game even though i'll have problems with controls due to physical problems with hands. i do miss when nurgle used to have plague skeletons and zombies as undead was my favorite awesome map
Hey LIONHEART, I just wanted to thank you, I noticed your graphic settings, and tweaked mine mirroring your settings on Twh2, holy cow the game looks and runs so much better. Thanks man love your shows.
For far too long Tim was but a helper...a servant. In every life cursed to serve another....but now...Now it is the time of Tim, Time for him to be Lord, to take the reins and plunge the world into Chaos!! Long live Lord Tim!
Thought of a tactic you could use with Demon Tim: Depending on the direction of his fire-burst (forward vs. all-around), you could fly in front of / over top of an enemy unit, toggle him to land, and when he lands, trigger the fireball. This assumes that you want to toggle a manual landing rather than have him charge in--it seems his dive-bomb charge isn't always reliable.
"DESPAIR! FOR I AM THE END OF DAYS!" "DO NOT TRIFLE WITH ME, WORM!" "TAKE ME TO THEM, THAT I, MAY RENDER JUDGEMENT!" "THE GROUND TREMBLES WITH EVERY STEP." "I HAVE ASCENDED, NONE MAY CHALLENGE ME!" "I AM A GOD!" "THE FORCES OF CHAOS, ARE MINE TO COMMAND!"
Imagine hyping yourself up to fight some Daemon Prince and you’re like “we’ll fuck him up” and suddenly seeing some disgusting pink monstrosity coming at you at full speed
Lion Cub is extra cute! I'm surprised he didn't want to destroy your mouse as my 7-month-old daughter always do. One missed moment and my mouse is flying down from my desk lol.
it seemed like 2nd glory stage ability for nurgle as well as the third tier slaanesh ability recover vigor, which actually gives the demons a greater later game
@lionheart I am going to name my Prince after you! Friar Tuck! As my Grandfather used to say: You don't get hair and brains at the same time! LOL Friar Tuck sounds like a good name.

"The bargain has been made!" he roared.
Hope people like this as much as I do, it took quite a while for me to transcribe it over here, I'm not a good scribe lol.
Thanks for sharing :)
@@lionheartx10 it took almost an hour for me to transcribe it lol! Yeah that's why I'm not a writer, typing stuff out is too time consuming.
Happy to see more Warhammer as always; I tried the game myself, bought both 1 and 2...but I can't handle that much information input/output unfortunately, even at the easiest levels, so I'll have to content myself watching let's plays like this. Also, love seeing Cubheart, adorable as ever!
Just preordered through your link mate. Looking forward to play as Pingu, champion of Khorne. Noot noot mortals!
Keep up the good work, love from sweden.
I feel like the majority of Daemon Princes are gonna be named Dave or Larry or Bob, just because that's way more fun than naming one Uz'Ul the consumer of spleens or something foolish like that.
Twerk Lord Phat’but (Slaa’nesh obviously)
You’re welcome 😂
Think I might call my first demon prince "Lawnmower".
22:54 reminds me of some of the football hooligans that get shown on TV occasionally...
23:11 I hope they put in an "disable advisor option"...
53:00 Both of those tails gave +10 armor...
57:00 That skill tree...definitly need a skill point mod with that!!!
1:16:20 "seal it with the bones of your fathers"...huh...
2:00:00 That's rather dark...
2:21:00 You really shouldn't have kept Tim flying around A BOMB TOWER!!!
Tim has finally ascended to his rightful place in the pantheon
Although I'm Korne all the way, the Nurglings have got to be my favourite unit on animation and style alone 👏🏻
Tim's Final Form, this was what all his valiant work led to.
Totally refunded my steam pre-purchase to then go through your link just to use your code. Love all that you do and glad I can help support you playing the game that your videos got me hooked on in the first place.
Thank you really appreciate that!!
I do love some lionheart in the morning
No power-creep here, no sir-ee
Unit name suggestion - the crab/ claw handed units riding the weird creatures maybe call them “The Mobile Hairdressers” *snip snip*
Ah yes, the terrifying demon prince...Tim the Enchanter!!!
Is it just me or does the 'Bay of Blades' settlement map (when viewed from the pre-battle screen) look a bit like a Beyblade as well 😂
Like the gameplay, and commentary makes this more interesting.
I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to play this game on the 17th
Unsurprisingly. First fight. Way overpowered. And Lionheart manages to get his only cavalry to half health despite it all.
No, the flies don't count. Nurgle is the worst. XD
You know what would REALLY be nice now if there was 1 campaign with lion and cubheart (every episode) ;)
Eventually I want to see four armies each with its own chaos god!
5 armies one for each god and one for undevided
After years of dabbling in all the different types of magic Tim finally falls to chaos
Random deamon prince trivia, genghis khan is hinted to be a daemon Prince of khorne named Doombreed in 40k
I love the potential customisation options for the Daemon Prince. Looks like it might be incredible for replayability. A friend of mine has well over a thousand hours in WHII and I jokingly said he'll never need to buy another game again with how good this new game looks.
This look's very nice, has me interested to play as the demon prince for sure, nice video Lionheart.
But....deamons are the Bad Guys
@@kohtalainenalias correct, but this looks fun.
Your Nugle hero should be called "Scotty doesn't know where that itch came from" or something along those lines, space willing lol
This character alone has made me decide i need the game.
25:35 "Don't give them an inch" well those poor cav were just looking for a good time
> Tim, "Let's go put my new face on."
The maps are impressive! I'm really happy about a lot of these quality of life improvements, being able to changing items before a battle is hot!
lol
who else was thinking 'sure...what could go wrong?' during the prologue.
i love chaos and this might get me to buy the game even though i'll have problems with controls due to physical problems with hands.
i do miss when nurgle used to have plague skeletons and zombies as undead was my favorite
awesome map
lov the nurgle animation. hes just like OH GOD BLAAAAA, make it stop, BlAAA
Lemme just go back and see what the upgrade is that gets the random spellcas... AWESOME FREE BABY TRYING TO EAT MICROPHONE!!!
Those strange things the chasers of slaanesh are riding are steeds of slaanesh
This faction feels like what the Chaos Warriors should have been in WH2, with all the Chaos dedication and mutation.
Daemon Prince: I am the great Daemon Prince!
Doom Guy: I'll take that into consideration.
I love that the Lord's unit card also changes to represent his body change
Hey LIONHEART, I just wanted to thank you, I noticed your graphic settings, and tweaked mine mirroring your settings on Twh2, holy cow the game looks and runs so much better. Thanks man love your shows.
What a lovely kid! I love to see you this happy!
GOSH THIS IS CRAZY. been watching since Warhammer 1 and now here we are. SO excited :)
Did I see that right? You can unlock, as one of the units through the chaos Undivided line and probably Tzeentch too, the Lord of change? That is cool
Im usually not interested in magic heavy playthroughs, but those Tzeench ranged units make me feel some typa way
A daemon named Tim has to of course dedicate himself to slaanesh with a name like that
Beautiful baby! Congrats and great gameplay!
For far too long Tim was but a helper...a servant. In every life cursed to serve another....but now...Now it is the time of Tim, Time for him to be Lord, to take the reins and plunge the world into Chaos!! Long live Lord Tim!
Drokair Windfury will be mine, named after a Daemon Prince from my tabletop army
You don't tug on Superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask off the ol' Lone Ranger AND YOU DON'T MESS AROUND WITH TIM.
I live to love the wackiness of the nurglings
For those wondering the intro music is from a song called Sociophobia by Jo Wandrini, and it's actually awesome.
Is it just me or do the Champians of Slaanash say "Give us soap!" Great video Lionheart
Konstaltyn looks like he hasn’t had a hit of his bong for years
Getting some vibes from your Imrik campaign from how tough the start is. :)
Everyone will tremble at the name Tim.
I was thinking of naming my demon after one of the Balrogs from lord of the rings ;^)
Those Slaneshi cavalry mounts made me think "Realistic Birdo" :D
Interestingly, this intro dispells one of the main theories about the adviser: Namely that he himself is Bel'akor or one of his servants.
Oh man here it is. Can't believe we're finally almost here. Been waiting so long 😭
"DESPAIR! FOR I AM THE END OF DAYS!"
"DO NOT TRIFLE WITH ME, WORM!"
"TAKE ME TO THEM, THAT I, MAY RENDER JUDGEMENT!"
"THE GROUND TREMBLES WITH EVERY STEP."
"I HAVE ASCENDED, NONE MAY CHALLENGE ME!"
"I AM A GOD!"
"THE FORCES OF CHAOS, ARE MINE TO COMMAND!"
18:43 I have a running joke that I name the most intimidating people Tiffany lol
2 cramping at the same time love it
Its awesome that warhammer 3 is really shaping up and reminds me a lot of mark of chaos.
I have an idea for a name for the Nurglings: Papa’s Little Helpers
Now this, I have been excited for!
I love how the name of the elf at 02:47:00 is ‘Ellendeling’ which is Dutch for ‘Wretch’ or ‘miserable one’
For a Nurgle lord or hero you could go with "The Marshan" to keep with the Matt Damon theme. Also Pox marshes.
All hail our daemon prince Timthetatman!!!
Always knew he was a demon
