As a Texas boy I had never heard such and even seen such before. I think I wore the vinyl off that album at the time, as I played it over and over and over. I play music with a fiddler who has tons of experience, master's degree in music, is a professional luthier and knows fiddle inside and out. I showed her this video and she said she "didn't understand how it was physically possible" for him to play the fiddle like that haha.
