  • From My Wellness Wednesday Wisdom
    (LIVE Help and Q&A HERE Wednesdays at 12:30pm)
    I always start the Q&A with a lesson from my coaching that day for my clients. This one is a BIG one. Many times people come to me with struggles where they THINK they know what the problem is, but in reality they are not solving the right problem.
    IF you want to succeed at reversing disease or anything in life, you need the solve the right problem.
    I see this as one of the most important roles I have, helping people correct assumptions and solve the right problems!
    I hope this helps you!
    If you realize that this is also an issue you face, that you don’t know how to interpret symptoms correctly or find yourself avoiding the problems that are too scary or uncomfortable to face, then get help!
    Your brain can’t usually solve the same problem it got you into, so having the perspective of someone else who has been successful at solving those same problems and getting the results you want.

    I love your videos, and everything you do. Speaking as a 70 year old guy who lost 120 pounds over the last 10 years and massively turned my health around I encountered all kinds of comments from especially some of my closest, and the haters are definitely out there. My favorite way to spin this is to use it as a great opportunity to make some new friends, most of whom approve of the changes I made, and some have even made considerable changes in their diets too. If there is just one thing I've learned in life, it's that you can never control what people are going to think, so just be yourself.

      Keep going, Geraldine. It sounds like you're doing really well. If others say that you're too thin, just say that you are slim, and smile! But if people keep making nasty comments to make you feel bad about your weight loss maybe it's time to make new friends.

    Whenever I think about peer pressure, I think of the saying, "Misery loves company" - when you are doing something unhealthy or that you might regret (overeating, taking drugs, smoking, even having tattoos) you want others to join you so you feel good about yourself. I am quite firm in saying "no" and nobody questions or bullies me about my choices, it's just a fact that I eat in a certain way and it's my business. Just say "no, thank you!" (with a smile) and move on, no need to explain, let alone apologise, just stand your ground and lead by example. Ignore unpleasant comments, if necessary avoid meeting toxic people (I've dropped one "friend", an obese, pre-diabetic lady who described me as "too skinny") and make new friends! My new friends are interested in my way of eating even though they're not WFPB themselves. I don't push veganism but if asked I talk about it lightly. My new friends have only known me as healthy and slim and they look up to me, they've told me they'd like to try plant-based and lose some weight too.

      I use a wide straw and keep it cold in an insulated cup. The wide straw makes it easy to drink and helps keep it away from my taste buds.

    • @Amelia-qm6bk
      @Amelia-qm6bk 11 місяців тому +1

      Spinach is better in taste and texture. Be sure to use a high speed blender too as that contributes to the texture. Defo use a straw and find the combo of fruit you like. Experiment. I hate for example bananas in mine … ❤

      I ditched the flax seeds and their gelatinous texture for flax oil. My smoothies are much thinner now and much more decorous! Used to eat them almost as a chore, now I enjoy them. Also, if you find the greens too bitter, all cabbage smoothies are great (the taste is much more easily masked by the fruit).

    • @Amelia-qm6bk
      @Amelia-qm6bk 11 місяців тому

      @@lizt.5374 i hate flax seed texture too. I do however use chia which is not gelatinous and makes them thick. Perhaps worth trying flax oil at times. How much flax oil does Dr G recommend and do you add it to the smoothies?. Thanks

    Symptoms comes from deficiency. Our body start crying out for nutrition when we are running out. When we get dehydrated our urine gets dark yellow. We don't drink water sometimes, but all the time or else the symptom of dehydration wiil return. I wonder why older people start keying symptoms when they get old because their body wasn't taking care of. Collagen, vitamins, minerals, was depleting and they didn't know until the symptoms showed up.

      Of course! I grew up in Italy in the 70s we didn't have exotic fruit, just basic apple, bananas, pears, grapes, peaches and nectarines when in season, not throughout the year. Just eat simply and (I'm saying this in the nicest possible way) don't make excuses! Most people (including me) can't afford organic products, just triple wash everything. Good luck!
