- There are so many soundtracks and so many games nowadays, that there have to be some misses sadly.
But hey, you know, I can appreciate the Nintendo sound team for what they were trying to do, shoutouts to my fellow composers.

plus, the fact that almost every single level theme in the game is just barely altered remix of the main theme... you really tried to do the mario world approach and totally failed 😭
Dude please; Underground, Nasty Nep-Enuts, castle theme, multiplayer menu, world map, overworld, beanstalk walk, bandit valley, hotfoot hurdle and special levels are all amazing but y'all are just judging it for the yoshi clan

hear me out, the minecraft songs are great when your building or exploring during the day time, and anything chill. but the moment its playing while your fighting for your life in the caves, it sucks, i want something tense, ominous, something that fits the mood, but ill be fighting the enderdragon and it’ll have no tension to it. the nether is pretty good, but i wish there was music specifically during combat, just have something to detect if a mob has agrk on a player and quickly fade into that for that player.
in my opinion, with minecraft’s theme of emptiness, no battle music fits. minecraft fans will complain endlessly about features when, in reality, the game would feel generic and boring with them. also, minecraft songs are long and ambient as heck and cutting to epic, ominous music would really hurt the overall experience.

and while it would be preferable for me, i geuss it doesnt need to be every hostile mob, it could just be the enderdragon and wither, and structures (with structures just having a slightly tenser feeling), im just not one thats huge on nostalgia, and i dont like the emptyness of minecraft, if you have a survival sandbox game like minecraft, the world should feel alive.
also it is very possible to have a theme that captures tension yet still captures the feeling of minecrafts sound track, it can be something subtle but with a constant build up to give it the feel “this is the enderdragon, the final boss of this game, not the end of it, but what youve been working towards defeating”, but nah, it just feels like “oh hey have some silence cuz clearly nothing is happening”

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Sonic normally has phenomenal soundtracks but they fumbled this one. I think I heard a story that they lost the original songs late in development and recomposed everything by memory
