  • Boogie Woogie - Get your hands working together with Flint Long Pt. 2. Your first left hand boogie woogie pattern with Flint's Easy Point Chord system in the right. This will get you playing guickly and easily. Always keep your eyes on your left hand. You'll find it easier to keep the left hand going if you do. Always keep the left hand going as you learn to "drop" the right hand in. After you master this basic left hand pattern, you can go on to other left hand boogie woogie patterns that interest you. These right hand riffs will make your playing sound polished right off the bat! There are thousands of Boogie Woogie right hand licks and you will learn them step by step with Flint Long as your guide!

      Thank you so much, Martin! I love hearing it, and I'm rootin' for you, man! I think if you keep at it, it won't be very long before you're rockin' the keys the way you want to!

    I am a blues guitarist and have been procrastinating for years about wanting to learn blues piano and after watching you Flint and the way you teach I went out and bought an electric piano keyboard yesterday. You are the man to teach me, I really like your way and personality. I sat up for hours last night with you thanks for all you do. Mike

      Mike- I can't believe it, I'm thrilled. I was just sitting he watching the Weight, Playing for Change. I think we're going to use it as a model for a virtual video we're about to do. I'm so glad to hear your kind remarks and that I can be of some help to you. If there is anything I can do specifically to help you reach your blues and boogie woogie piano goals, let me know.

    Second that emotion, you are a great teacher. Real good lesson. The curse of the "Boogie Woogie" , sounds so good to hear, but takes everything you got to learn to play. Thank you.

      Thanks, John. I know how hard it is to get started playing it. It was hard for me too. After a while, something clicks, and then you start getting it. Sometimes we have to struggle for two or three weeks saying, "Why aren't I making any progress? Maybe this is too hard? Will I ever get it?" I know those feelings! But my heart was set on playing Boogie Woogie, and I made a commttment that if it was humanly possible, then I would do it. And after a long time I almost got it, then I kinda got it, then I got it for real. Practice a little each day. That's important, just a little at least. You'll get it. I can tell you love it so much! It sounds so great! And it feels so good! You'll get it! I know you will!

    Dreams can come true it can happen to you! If you ever dreamed of having a piano teacher that could teach you to play like a pro. This guy Flint is top shelf all the way. He taught me to play a rather sophisticated jazz tune with a combination of e mails and videos. Drop him a comment on any one of his videos and if your lucky enough he will change your life! A true technical master of several different styles.

    hi Flint hello from Ireland , a beginner but I really enjoy your style. It's difficult to get hands working together but I am going to keep at it. Thanks for lesson

      Thank you, James. There really is no shortcut to getting it! We have to try and fail, try and fail, and then try and almost...and then try and finally succeed! I still have to go through that myself, when learning something new on piano.

      David, thank you much for your kind comment. I always remind my students that it's better to practice a little each day, even for five minutes, than it is to lay off for a few days and then practice 2 hours on Sunday, if you know what I mean. I'm so happy my videos are helping you! Please stay in touch! Your friend, Flint

    A great lesson Flint, could you please tell me the right hand notes you play for C F G? I’m a beginner at 71, and it really would help me. Keep up the great work! Geoff.

    • @flintlong2937
      @flintlong2937  3 роки тому

      Hey there Geoff! How great to hear from you. The notes for the C chord are E with the right thumb, G with the index finger, A with the third finger and C with the little finger, pinkie, or fifth finger. To make the F chord, play the same notes I just mentioned but lower the thumb to Eb. That is the only change. The other notes remain the same. For the G7 the notes are F with the thumb, G with the index finger, B with the 3rd finger and D with the pinkie. Here is very important and helpful hint: Please note that each of the three chords C,F and G7 feature G played by the index finger. The way to find these chords and play them quickly is to use the Flint Long pointing method. That is- point to the G, and you'll discover that the thumb falls readily into place as does the pinkie, the other notes are then easy to find and land on. Point first to the G, discover that the thumb lands on E or Eb and the pinkie on C, almost naturally without effort, then fill in the other notes. Point first, that is my secret method and that is the key!
