71 now, and new to piano,,(took a few lesson at age 9 & didn't learn it) now time to restart... just got a Donner SE-1 ... and this is what I'll loosen up on !!! Thanks...

Thank you for writing in, Dwight! Question: Do you sing with your piano playing? Because if you do that makes it a whole lot easier in the piano dept., because you only have to strum the piano like a guitar to accompany yourself. It you don't sing with your piano playing, then your right hand will play the melody and your left hand will play the chords, takes a little more coordination in that case, but at your age in definitely can be done. i have students in their eighties who are making good progress all over the place. @@flintlong2937 Only song I can sing and play is Amazing Grace (so far) and I do it in an organ style playing . . . using the melody . . . but looking fwd to "strumming" the piano. Our church is small . . . and only myself and one lady have guts enough to sing in front of people . . . hoping to get more. Thanks again.
This was the very first tune I learned on piano...then chop stux. We kids played all kinds of dittys on the piano, Lear ing from each other. 6 and 7 yrs old.

Hi Jay, thanks! I have a book called, "101 of the Best Blues and Boogie Woogie Licks." These are right hand riffs and licks that you will play while keeping a boogie woogie pattern going with your left hand. I also have a chart of all the different boogie woogie left hand patterns. The book is $30. the chart of patterns is $15. (I have a video copy of the book too, for people who do not read music and just want to watch and listen as I play the licks. The video download is also $30.
