Me too. I actually played it on PS+ but I wanted to buy the game and the DLC when I got money but then this new DLC dropped and I want to buy the game and all the DLCs even more. 9/10 there's a bit of grinding I had to do for the plat trophy but the game itself is solid.
A tip regarding your rods, Drae: you don't need to just have one. Mixing and matching rods to get a multitude of fishing types so you don't have to return to a shipyard every time you want to pull up something slightly different is a big part of the game, and certain rods go particularly well together due to their shape and/or perfectly covering a parge range of fishing types. However, do note the yellow icon on the new fish and new rods; that is essentially a different tier of fishing types, so it also must be considered when outfitting your ship. Also, fishing speed is a ship-wide stat, so installing additional rods, even if they don't give you more versatility, is still helpful as it will get fish out of the water faster.. somehow. I don't know how the presense of an unused rod speeds up others, but it works. Also, as seemingly always needs to be said, talk to people! You get a lot of interesting things to think about from what they have to say. The scientist in particular, of course, but also people like the foreman.
7:53 after watching the video, I can say that those weird looking ones are all creatures from ancient times that actually existed on earth! The “Tully” one is from the Cambrian explosion which leads me to believe the others are as well

And having fish living in an oil slick be living fossils(the tullimonstrum is a soft bodied fish from around 300 million years ago, so yeah remember if the current ocean isn't terrifying enough just go to the ancient earth ocean and get even more nightmares who needs fantasy when you live in this planet) is perfect, long live puns On a sidenote, the nautilus and trilobyte are current species both fairly small and the tri is straight up adorable, some aquariums and research centres breed them since they help us understand our past, the others like the salmon, lance and rock fish are also fairly old fish but not as interesting, guess you gotta fill the roster somehow (yes, I am in fact a big marine biology fan, how could you tell) Also also, the sollasina is a species of an extinct genus of echinoderm so not a starfish but close although closer sea urchin they also look terrifying and it's full name is, get this Sollasina cthulhu, yes in honour of the eldritch god, because it had a lot of tentacle like arms, so we literally had cthulhu in our ocean at some point id we are being technical, I didn't know about that one I love how much dredge can cultivate interest for ocean life and the ocean overall

No Real spoilers. Just tip offs. You really need to go look into these rockslabs. There's 1 per area (twisted morrows gale stellar pale), specifically pale and gale! 3 of 5 are more beginner but 2 are great endgame. You currently have 2 pale and twisted.
If we were to go by the logic of Dredge, you're not actually drilling for oil, even though there's an oil rig there. You're actually going to be fishing for fish that are some how amalgamations of life and crude oil and also tuna (because they're pretty fatty and that's a decent source of fish oil.) The plot twist will be that you're not actually catching crude oil, but the blood of some Lovecraftian Horror....If that turns out to be the actual plot of the DLC, I'm sorry. But that'd also be both amazing and disappointing. If I can guess the plot without ever having played the game, they might need to throw a different surprise next DLC. Also, 2:29-2:31. "All Around the World", you say? Does have a Touch of Class and does it go La-la-lalala?
