It’s hard to believe that Foreigner isn’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Madonna is! 🥴🤡
Foreigner hasn't even been nominated, and they've been eligible since 2002.
I agree and LGB.
maybe one day!!!
It would be nice to be recognized before half the band has died.
Lou Gramm was to Foreigner what Steve Perry was to Journey. Two guys with killer vocals.
Well put!
Yes Sir, you are so correct!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely!!
That right!
Believe it or not, you still haven't done their best song - "Cold As Ice". Everything about it is epic!
the ultimate Foreigner is "Cold as Ice"!!!!!!!!!
Ohhh, Good One too. Rock On!! Have a Blessed Evening
Love that song!! Reminds me of my ex-wife.
Agree 💯
@@reesebn38 I don't know whether to Laugh or make a Sad Face for You. No One, should be treated the way Cold As Ice describes. So, I'll say Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish and You're better Off!! Have a Blessed Evening and always remember that Karma is a Bitch, I think she is God's Sister and hands out the Ass Whoopings. Lord knows she chewed me up a couple of times, and spit me out. I had it coming but I'm a quick learner Lmao. So if She did You that wrong Karma will catch her. Maybe not tomorrow, next week, or even Years, She has a Book though and Trust Me Karma never forgets. 😉 Peace Be with You. Respectfully, K
Lou Gramm is the lead singer, one of the great voices in all of rock n roll. "Cold as Ice" would make sense to react to, after "Hot Blooded."
How about doing a song that's a little bit earlier Love Has Taken Its Toll great song one of my favorites by Foreigner!
@@Classicjack228 Love Has Taken Its Toll is from Double Vision - same as Hot Blooded. Cold As Ice is from their first album.
Yelp that's right
I love their song "Urgent" because of the sax riff in it.
Reminds me of the skating rink as well as ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
Junior Walker was a BEAST on that sax solo.
Yes that Sax is great.
I liked there 70s songs way more than there 80s This was RELEASED in June of 1978
He drives a '57 coupe, walks with a stoop, swears James Dean isn't dead, he's a dedicated rocker, a real " HEAD KNOCKER" ;)
Nice pick, =P
Great song. I’ve requested it before. “Maybe he’ll teach you a lesson. Show you his Smith and Wesson…..”
YEAH!!!! MY Fave!!!
yup, jukebox hero.. double vision
One of my all time Favs!!
Those of you of my age, you'll certainly remember the original tv series "WKRP In Cincinnati" when this song was played as Les Nessman prepared to go on his date with Jennifer Marlow. An iconic television moment!. 🤣
"Alright, Cincinnati! It is time for this town to get down!"
Dr Johnny Fever
Think of this scene every single time I hear this song! 😆
Les Nessman, and an absolutely iconic TV moment! Just watched it the other day after the whole series box set from "Shout! Factory" arrived! Their set includes the original music wherever they could get the copyrights back! 👍🏽
WKRP IN CINCINNATI! HELL, YES! I freaking love that show, so fun! 🥰
Jay/Amber, Their "Cold As Ice", "Double Vision" and "Waiting for a Girl Like You" are next for you!!!
Double Vision is amazing
Double Vision is awesome
You got it thanks for the suggestion
Waiting for a Girl Like you is absolutely beautiful.
All good selections.
It's so beautiful to watch you two get into a song! You two actually LISTEN to music, instead of just hearing it....THANK YOU!!!
For your next Foreigner song, I recommend from the following: "Cold as Ice", "Double Vision", "Head Games", "Waiting For a Girl Like You", and "That Was Yesterday".
Dirty White Boy 👍
That Was Yesterday is my favorite Foreigner song. RSR you guys gotta react to it and Waiting for a Girl Like You.
Heyyyy I just posted Head Games, and Double Vision great minds think a lot !
GREAT suggestions!!!!!
That's Mick Jones' guitar solo. He tells the story of how, when they were in the studio recording Hot Blooded, his amp speaker caught on fire during that guitar solo. 🔥
Cold as Ice! Urgent! Double vision! Feels Like the First Time! Head Games! Just to name a few! Lou Gramm excellent rock voice!
You got it thanks for the suggestion
Urgent!!!
@@ameshi4williams465 They have actually done that one!
@@RobSquadReactions you guys do a great job! Keep it up!!
@@anexceleratedlife I hate I missed. Thanks!
Foreigner gets a lot of flack from some people, but they were a great band. Cool and unique guitar solos, incredible vocals, and excellent writing.
Also: Cold As Ice, Dirty White Boy, Double Vision……
Lou Gramm is one of the great rock singers of our time!
I sing a variation of this song to my cat.
But I change the lyrics to:
"Cute kitty,
check it and see!
He's super fuzzy,
and so cuddly!
Cute kitty!
A cute kitty!
He finds it hilarious.
Ha ha love it. 🤣
Next try Cat Box Hero.
@@daveygivens735 Or "Rock the Catbox". It's an underrated 80s classic.
Foreigner started as a hard rock band. Radio friendly ballads came later. Have you tried "Jukebox Hero"? One of their biggest hits!
💜
Yes! I think they’ll like Jukebox Hero more than this one actually! It’s higher energy.
I'm waiting for "Double Vision." :)
I'm pretty sure they've already done jukebox hero and loved it
@@carolynnewcomb2153 They did it July 4. ua-cam.com/video/koUIL1YAz-k/v-deo.html
Ian McDonald -Saxophone, flute, keyboards, guitar, founding member of the progressive rock band King Crimson in 1968, as well as the hard rock band Foreigner in 1976. RIP Ian [Feb. 9, 2022]
King Crimson was one of my all time under-rated bands - along with Mott The Hoople
I did not know, has it been a while? 😢 I don't know where I've been, under a rock apparently!😳
@@teriangel8807 Feb. 9, 2022
Now you chose what is probably one of the biggest bangers and most well-known songs from Foreigner.
That high pitch sound you’re describing is called a “pinch” harmonic used in playing solo electric guitar. It’s a squealing sound that you get from hitting the string and your nail (or skin surrounding) at the same time. It also requires having a overdriven amplifier sound to make it happen. Most hard rock and blues players use this as a part of their sound to some degree.
Check out "Double Vision" and "Say You Will" by Foreigner. Both are great songs! Great reaction guys!
'Say You Will' is my fave Foreigner song :)
They are a great band. You must do their song “cold as ice”
This is one of their more popular songs.
They've already done "I Want To Know What Love Is"
Head games is a good one too!!
This one was also very popular, plus, the more popular the more likely they've heard it?
Foreigner is composed of some of the great musicians of the day Ian McDonald and Lou Gramm
We love them!
@@RobSquadReactions you guys are wonderful and share and spread good vibes. Keep up the good energy!!
I was 16 when this came out in 1978. There was SO MUCH great new ROCK coming out in those years, new albums -it made your head spin. But you could not turn on a radio without hearing this. This would be blasting out of the cool cars going by...It was a great time to be a teenager (From what I can remember, LOL)
I was the age look at us now 60 years young I just can't grow out of all that great music!
@@Classicjack228 Yes ma'am These kids don't even know LOL. The top 40 on the radio is like a desert now. The new music on there is terrible.
I was their Super fun times
I Was Also 16 Back In 1978, And Foreigner Is Up There With Boston, Gerry Rafferty, The Doobie Brothers, And The Eagles For Me . . . :-)
I'd half forgotten how good this song was - damn.
You might also enjoy lead singer Lou Gramm’s 1986 hit “Midnight Blue”.
Hope you’re planning on reacting to more Fanny this Friday.
Absolutely!!
Midnight blue great song that was solo? I didn't know that
@@tompahlgooglesucks Midnight Blue was on his first solo album, Ready or Not. His second solo album, Long Hard Look, is great from top to bottom.
Y'all should roll out some FOGHAT, "Slow Ride" "Fool for the City", + "I Just want to Make Love to You", "Honey Hush" they'll be are rockin for you.
Foghat just want to make love to you is great with headphones!!!
Back in the day when hotels gave you actual keys he would throw a handful of room keys out in the audience when he sang “shall I leave you my key”. I was this close…😆
When I think about great guitarists, I never think about Mick Jones. I saw Foreigner live and let me say that he was amazing!
their first 3 albums are incredible.
Guys I love it foreigner great song amazing reaction as always. You must get too cold as ice it’s going to blow you away!
Yes! Coming to say they need to do Cold as Ice!
You got it thanks for the suggestion 💜
Cold As Ice, Head Games, That Was Yesterday some medium rock greats by Foreigner.
Blue Morning Blue Day also a great song!
"I'll show you lovin' like you never knew".
That line from the song..gets me from head to toe..every single time!!!!.
Not only is this one of the sexiest song ever..but Lou's vocals are so clear and controlled.
They even mention..asking for consent.. in an Old School Love Song.
Wasn't mention much in Ballads of Previous Decades.
I love you.. Lou Gramm.
Perfection!!
Never go wrong with this group ❣️
Lou Gramm has one of the best voices in rock history with Mick”s guitar licks and solid drumming!
I saw a comedian dress up as Dracula for Halloween and sang this. I have to say it... He killed it.
Fantastic Band , seen them live in Glasgow, they were excellent. Lou Gramm who is American and Mick jones who is English Started the Band. Different Class. The Foreigner 4 album is tremendous
A great long solo is in “Comfortably Numb” live at the Pulse. This live solo by David Gilmour goes on for minutes and will take you to another place.
This is early Foreigner. Before the power ballads. Love the early stuff.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils “Jackie Blue” you’ll love it.
This is their best! I love this song!!!! Always been an awesome band.
Saw these guys when they first appeared on the scene, they opened for ARS. And quite literally blew them offstage. It was one of those shows that the opening act had all the energy and stole the show.
At the beginning of their career when Foreigner crashed our shores they came with this song and another smash hit called, DOUBLE VISION. Following them for a decade to the late 8o's was easy enough because they stayed on top of the game. By making music worth waiting for, we gleefully played the Hell of the records when the came out. One of their last hits I loved from them was CAN'T WAIT. The smoldering slow quest on the journey for love is underlined by an urgent passion that cannot be denied. I still love this song. Along with DIRTY WHITE BOY. Rock on !!
Try "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group. It has guitars, bass, drums (two sets), sax, and key board. Edgar Winter plays drums, sax, and keyboard in it. It is an instrumental.
The live video. Epic.
One of the heaviest Foreigner songs with great vocals and a killer solo is ‘Reaction To Action’
You guys are killin’ it, by the way…
THIS is the Foreigner that most fans love. This song kicked off the second album and was the first single from it. The whole album was a staple, no a requirement in the fall of 1978. I even remember being in a K-Mart stereo department one October evening and they had this album playing on a turntable.
Try In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly if you want some long instrumental solos. Also Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers, the way Sky Dog and Dickey Betts play off each other and alternate between lead and rhythm guitar can only be magic.
one of my favorite bands in my senior year in hs and early college years. COLD AS ICE. what a tune.
The tone of the guitars is to die for, a cranked Marshall plexi and a Les Paul the perfect crunch, we covered this song a little after it came out, it never failed to get everyone excited and on the dance floor.
Lou Gramm(atico) grew up in my home town and graduated from my high school. He was lead singer for a badass local band Black Sheep before Mick Jones of Foreigner invited him to audition for his new band.
Still have a ways to go down this Foreigner rabbit hole. Cold As Ice, Double Vision, or Head Games should be next. Happy you guys are back.
Foreigner does Rock!!! Double Vision is a must!!! I've seen them in concert like 4 times. They never disappoint.! If you get the chance to see them in concert, don't miss it!!
Best "come on" song ever. Watching you two I flash back to sitting with friends rockin to a new album that came out! Music was pure joy in the 70s!
Great rocker from Foreigner, another good rocker from them is Double Vision.....😎😁🙏❤🇨🇦
Back in high school, driving around with my friend and his girl in the front seat, me and a girl who at the time was my blind date in the back seat; this song comes on, and after the "are you hot mama" line, we look each other in the eyes and sing along with "you sure look that way to me..." Needless to say, we were both a little 'hot blooded' that night, lol. Can't hear this song without thinking of her. ;-)
Hey.. sounds like you "got lucky" on the first date.. woo hoo. I love how a certain song can transport you back to a special time.. great comment!!
Listen to you both. I love your guitar analysis! You've come along way. You feel it and know how to describe what you're feeling.
Yeah, Foreigner's my number 2 favorite band, of all-time---my number 1 is Journey!!
A banger of theirs from '82 off the album "4" is "Break Ir Up". Great drums and guitar and of course Lou's killer vocals....always one of my fav's!
Such a fine band with so many bangers - always a joy to see you enjoying yourselves!
Now I got a fever of 103!
😂😂
... You're hot blooded, hot blooded!
My favorite high school band. Rock & Roll was so great in the late 70's - early 80's.
Head Games and Long, Long Way from Home are my two faves. You really can't go wrong with Foreigner!
Hope you had a wonderful vacation!
We had so much fun 💜
One of Foreigner's best.
For something even rockier by these guys, next time try "Reaction To Action". It'll rock your socks off! 🤘
You got it thanks for the suggestion 💜🤘🏽
@@RobSquadReactions 😃 Heyyyy, thanks for hearting my comment, my first ❤ from you guys! Right back at you!! 💙😊
@@guitarzan5328 no problem thanks for being apart of the family! We love YT name also 😂💜
@@RobSquadReactions Haha thanks a bunch! Got it from the Ray Stevens song and also that I play guitar 🎸🤣
The lyrics man so hot bloody cheesey - but the those vocals - there's some soul in there along with riffage (never to be ignored).
Mick Jones is the lead guitarist and founding member of the group. He had a lot of cool guitar riffs. Lou Gramm is the lead singer with an amazing voice. They co-wrote a lot of their songs. What I've realized and appreciated in more recent years listening to their songs again is that Lou sang pretty clearly, so I could actually understand the words. When I was growing up, I couldn't understand a lot of the words in songs I was hearing on the radio.
If you want solo then you MUST do Gary Moore’s cover of The Messiah Will Come Again. Do the live version and make sure it is video. The entire thing is instrumental and watching the emotion he puts into his playing will blow you away.
If you really want to hear guitars, give Green Grass and High Tides by The Outlaws a listen... You won't be sorry! It's one of the songs that if I hear in the car makes it hard to play air guitar while I'm driving when that is all you want to do when this song comes on! 🎸
More Foreigner... Yes! They are rockers and the combo of Lou Graham (singer) & Mick Jones (guitar) is strong. So many good songs: Double Vision, Dirty White Boy, Blue Morning Blue Day, Cold as Ice, Long Long Way From Home, Women, Rev on the Red Line, Waiting For a Girl Like You
Cold As Ice was the 1st single off their debut album -- the first taste of Foreigner that most of us got from our radios. Definitely worth checking out.
Can't go wrong with Foreigner ever. Now since you mentioned instrumentals can I suggest a RUSH track "Leave That Thing Alone." off of their Counterparts album. It is a full song length instrumental track that is an incredible showcase of musical talent.
Never miss a video!!!
Thank you so much Romona we love you and thank you 💜
Foreigner songs are jams! So appealing to the ears. "Cold As Ice" and "Double Vision" are both bangers too.
Yes, Epic group. Every song
I have seen these boys in concert (I HAVE A MICK JONES SIGNED GUITAR PICK BY THE WAY). This band is rocking awesome!
Urgent, Double Vision Cold as Ice just name a few. Lou Gramm amazing rock voice!!!
You got it thanks for the suggestion 💜
they've reacted to Urgent
Always loved listen to Foreigner, the musicians backs up the singer to perfection and the strings from the guitar, incredible sound.
Power ballad Waiting for a Girl Like You is excellent!
George Benson does a classic guitar song instrumental called “Breezing” I know you guys really enjoyed his last one he was on roller skates playing the guitar.
Check out Foreigner "Juke Box Hero" if you wanna hear more of guitarist Mick Jones jamming
joe satriani 'always with me always with you'. Basically a 3 minute solo that had a lot on air play back in the day.
This band has such a complete 80s vibe for me, You’ve already reacted to my favorite song of theirs, “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” another good slower song is “Waiting For A Girl Like You.” The theme of that song instantly takes me back to the 80s for some reason, one of those more visceral memories.
I always have to smile and shake my head a little when J talks about the guitarist "going down the neck" when he's actually going UP the neck (from low to high). And when he talks about the "bottom string" he's actually referring to the TOP (highest pitched) string. But he gets it, the difference is just semantics.
Well if you want instrumentals hit some Rush. YYZ, La Villia Strangiato as classic as it gets and always fun. The other one that goes with this is "Double Vision". Great song.
I was seven when this song came out. It was literally played everywhere, all summer long. You could not escape out.
Those high notes are Tenor C5s. No easy feat. He's is my biggest influence.
If y'all want to hear a long epic guitar solo, react to the UFO song Rock Bottom but make sure it's the live version from the album Strangers In The Night.
For guitar solos, I highly recommend you listen to Rock N Roll Machine by Triumph, the solo will send chills ......also, when you come back to Led Zeppelin check out Moby Dick, John Bonham's signature drum solo is out of this world .....😎🙏❤🇨🇦
This song was so big when I was a senior in High School in 1978. I remember being a big Jazz fan, thinking this song was so blatantly decadent. The problem was, a few years later when I played in a bar band, we always got dancers on this song! When a band gets a good reaction to a song, its hard not to like the song. It really moves!
This song, "Cold as Ice", and "Waiting for a Girl Like You" are my favorite Foreigners songs, but there are at least a couple dozen songs from them that up my mood every time. I look forward to seeing your "Cold as Ice" reaction.
More Foreigner! We have to bug the Rock Hall in Cleveland & get Foreigner nominated & inducted. The snub makes no sense. That's why I can't take them seriously.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee Journey deserves it. I don't think the rappers should be in, especially when real rockers are being snubbed. It's nothing against rap. There should be a rap hall of fame.
All these recommendations are great and I agree with them. But I've got a lesser known song I think you'd love. Listen to Starrider and use the live version with the 21st Centery Orchestra and Choir. It's amazing!
Mick Jones is the leading founder, composer, arranger, lead guitarist, and keyboardist of this great band. Lou Gramm was a great find for Mick. Lou had begun his career as a soul singer before Mick discovered him. A truly talented guy; he was able to transition beautifully into a great rock singer. Up until now, he's still unequalled as the band's frontman. The song I Wanna Know What Love Is is a manifestation of Lou's soulful rendition of the so called slow rock song. Mick could create various melodies for his songs that one would think they were being performed by different bands. Foreigner isn't known for just one kind of sound, and that makes them more enjoyable to listen to.
One of most underrated rock bands to grace a stage.
Check out Juke Box Hero
they've done it already
👍👍
💜
"Double vision" and "Cold As Ice" are two great foreigner songs.
I was 11 in 1978 when hot blooded came out great song
Please react to BEEGEES MEDLEY 1989...
It’s coming up soon!
Blue Morning Blue Day is another fantastic Foreigner song. Cold as Ice really showcases the drummer, Dennis Elliott.
Mick Jones is an incredible guitarist and all-around musician. The guitar solo on this is legendary to most guitar players. He "screws up" in the first part of the solo and then does the wild bending near the end as a way to mask/compensate for the goof. They kept the solo with the goof because it enhances the mood of the song.
Seen Foreigner in concert 3 times, the first time in 1992 when they were supposedly "past their prime". Great show every time
