Richard restores his cars, and Jeremy has all his in a barn. Several of the cars abandoned in other countries were located by fans. They should get them together as they were in the specials and create a museum exhibit.
There is a museum exhibit with a lot of the cars from TG. I actually recently suggested Mike make a video visiting it. It's called Beaulieu's World Motor Museum. They have the amphibious cars (both sets), the Jag sports train, the Toyota Hilux, the bikes from the Vietnam special, the Dominator, the Peel P45 Jezza made, hammerhead eagle i-thrust, they even have the fiat panda limousine haha but I agree the ones that aren't already in that museum or other ones should be.
The difference is. J.C doesn't need to restore and document his cars. R.H has a car restoration company of which is heavily documented online and benefits from Videos like these.
@@smcdetailing7921 Hello Mr. Cynical!
Ngl would love to see all of them restored, then taken on a hill climb day or smthn like that
What about may
3:48 it looks perfect in that shot because it has enough cosmetic flaws that you could drive the snot out of it and not worry about scratches or stone chips etc.
me in my 2002 wrx....
Love the TorqueGT guys. Always been a massive help with rare bits for my JDM cars!
Odd seeing you here
Didn’t know you were a JDM guy
My my my! My fav WT UA-camr here watching DT? Oh glorious day!
Just when you took us a tour to the showroom full of your JDM gems, my heart instantly got excited to see all those legends in there 💕
I was pleasantly pleased to find that subaru dealers still supply brand new slam panels, bumpers and bonnets etc for these impreza's. I was looking everywhere for parts for my blob to get it fixed after a bump, and the body shop came in clutch with the Subaru link up. Will have mine back end of the week, so way too excited! Need me more subaru resto videos already, I'm so ready for all the content!
Took me 6 months to source a aluminium bonnet for a Gc8 wrx sti, lots of NLA parts.Newage must be easier.
My subaru has had a similar story, it's now been off the road for 1 and half years and this week she will be back on the road
@@alexdawkins5368 mine should be back this week too! Way too excited right now ahaha
So awesome to see such an iconic subaru being restored. 2004 STI’s are my dream car, and its a shame many are toast nowadays. Y’all are doing it some serious justice
Horrid livery?, I really was impressed with the "MARTIN" livery myself.... thinking of making a 1/10 scale for my RC chassis.... let me know if i should make 2 and send you 1? haha, love you guys and keep up the memories!!!
That and the gulf liveries are the best ever imo!
Agreed. It's just another scooby now that blends in with all the rest. No longer an iconic show special.
I liked it too, and my idea was to do the same livery but do it proper this time, and make it Martin from the start. That'd be so cool.
I love it. I have no clue about car maintenance or body repairs and I just love to see it all being done. I really wish my old man had taught me all this sort of stuff when I was younger.
I know it makes no monetary sense, but if only James' Evo from the same series can be brought all the way back.
Torque GT seems like a dream destination for Japanese car fans like me....Lots of Subaru and Mitsubishi...
It's really exciting to see the Impreza being restored, but I'd love to see the same happen to Jeremy's RS4 as well
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate a video like this. I own a JDM Version 8 Sti named "Pixie" very similar to this except its a non V-Limited. This now makes me want to inspect for rust. Keeping me eyes peeled for this one!
This Impreza might be brought from snowy area of Japan like Hokkaido or Tohoku. Considering its age and how cheap it was, it's holding its shape quite well.
Happy to see this car making a comeback. It deserves the treatment.
Torque GT are immense. Best Japanese specialists out there. Got a few bits for my DC5 and fitted by them
Wow, this restoration project is absolutely incredible!
Only took 7 1/2 months since the episode released to get part one out 😂
Will be great to see the refurb, shows what those clean vs rusty arches mean to scoobies and can spot some
JDM goodness in the baackground
100% there’s more rust hiding underneath the stone chip coating!!! After doing it all with my own I’d advise anyone doing rust on a Subaru to do the entire underside at the same time
True, at 6:48 you can see rust spots all over the sill.
Can’t say it’s as bad as my bnr32 resto 🤣 looking forward to this one!
Rust is actually "to a minimal" here :D
@@lastexile1187 🤣
I watch your channel lol
strange place to find you 🤣
So excited for this series
Really amazing series to see this continuation of a car from the Grand Tour show.
Up inside the rear shock towers look for more rust, thats what usually causes the rot on the arch itself
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEK EVERYONE ...THANKS MIKE AND PRODUCTION TEAM 🙏...
I'm thankful for this wonderful free content, but can we please get some sort of update on Project Jag? I'm really looking forward to seeing the supercharged XKR run in anger.
Torque GT are awesome! I bought a JDM EP3 Type R from there and their customer service was top notch!
Fantastic series, looking forward to the next one
This was a great video! Keem them coming!
That showroom looks like car guy heaven. That green GT-R is just..... gorgeous!
I'm actually still waiting for part 3 of Lucy's travelogue
Yup, much more interested in that, than this 11 minute advert :)
@@AcidDotCom This channel is feeling more and more like advert uploads.. Getting pretty boring tbh.
Same here !
My thoughts exactly think I skipped through 70% of this video
Me as well more interesting than the stuff they have put out lately...
Give us part 3 of Lucy's Travel!!!!
happy to see the forgotten forester sti being in this video, wrx sti in wagon style, awesome daily driver
I can't believe Mike licked that old candy 🤮 Great episode, looking forward to the next one.
Tell them guys at Torque GT to hurry up and finish their P1 already 👍
👇
2 weeks, we promise! 😉
Great video and glad to see the Scooby getting some love to restore!
I wish you guys were on the same side of the pond. I have Arthur, the 1990 Volvo 240DL estate Ma bought as her 60th birthday present to herself. 33 Ontario, Canada winters, not to mention the 623,000 kilometers (391,000 miles), have done to the old boy. Still drives like new, though.
im surprised the rust isn't worse. it's been marinating in seawater and road salt for a few months now.
"Forester STI, how much do you want one as a daily?"
My goosebumps says that a little bit more than that Legacy GT in the back :)
Torque GT has come along way in the 9 or so years since buying my first import Nissan Silvia.... And they were in their old location by the Buckfastleigh railway too
Another cracking vid chaps.
4:50 - Nice one on the "dodgy DnB", cheers to the editor 🥳
I was not expecting Pendulum!
Not that much into JDMs but I WANT that NSX Type R. 😍
Hi Mike! It'll be like new again soon! We went down to Callander & went over the Duke's Pass. Now I know why it's your favourite road in Scotland! I can't wait to take my 4.6 Range Rover V8 powered Vauxhall Viva HC over it... should be ready in 2025! Another great road is the B974 Cairn O Mount running from Fettercairn to Banchory. It's a fair bit faster in places. Cheers. Leigh.
Use gunblue aka rust blue to protect these metals that are not galvanized to get additional rust protection before primer goes on.
Right on, the montage with the dodgy Pendulum track was a nice transition lol
Great vid bro, loved it 🤙
Endlich wieder die alten guten Videos!😊
PS: special alloy wheel cleaner 😉
Great video. I really love this cute little blue bubble
I remembered the last time I watched these Torque GT guys restored a barnfind Impreza P1...
Yes all of them cars in that gallery were nice. But that Honda Integra type r 😍😍😍😍😱 👌
I have the same event :) great car. I also had an rs4 b7 Clarcsson, I can say that no audi or bmw is as fun as this subaru :)
out of my love for the Subaru WRX STi (even though I haven't had one😅), I had blue and gold as my wedding motif. 😁
i cant wait to see how minted you make this car
Mike has gotten so much better over the last year
TY 🙏🙏
if you are wondering what the Drum and Bass song that they used at 5:10 it's by Pendulum - The Island pt 1 and 2
So ya when the world going to officially witness Season 5 Episode 2: Krakow, Poland, eh???
LEEEETS GOOOO YO!!!!
Love your work 👍
Richard Hammond has a strong record of supporting us, the hooligan Subaru community.
I wish Grand tour would come to Montana
I have bough a few cars from Torque GT, great business :)
I could use some of that Drivetribe money to finish the rest of my classic Beetle restoration :P
Definitely the new "Top Gear" restoring cars is soooo popular 🎉🎉🎉
Anybody who saves a WRX is a hero, moreso than any Captain Marvel!
Great!!! A torque gt advert now
0:51 really like that subaru key chain
That toilet seat hood scoop is just the best part
They need to check multiple of places, behind bumpers, under plastic sideskirts, and yes wheel arches.
5:00 song is
The Island (Steve Angello, An21 & Max Vangeli remix)
What happened to the finale for Project Jag? We haven't seen a head to head race between them yet.
My '00 Outback had the Same Issues.. Rotting away Wheelarches
My Forester STI in the same color as that Skyline is for sale :)
That Pajero Evolution 💜
Love that u use the Pendulum song at 5:02
Its some remix?
@@dawidw.3221 seems so, unofficial i guess
Awesome work. Not too rusty really! Interested in ballpark costs for the paintwork if you are able to provide at the end? I have a Forester STi btw & yes they are an awesome daily - jut have to keep a sharp eye on it for rust if you use over winter.
I love Subarus great beater winter cars especially if you have to drive in the snow. Only problem is there not very spacious. If I get another one I want extended seat rails so I don’t crush my legs.
I'd be fuming with the wash process if I were the sponsor. Apart from that, great video!
I need more shots of that Blue Rocket Bunny S13 and the white FD please.
I am Martin from Norway, and i approve this video👍
Speaking of Subaru, the WRX Estate from Top Gear was so awesome to watch. It absolutely demolished the Volvo and BMW in Africa.
Music's perfect.
I think it would be cool to fully restore three cars from three different Grand Tour episodes, then have the guys drive them again for a new special.
And to get them to modify them and send them to some weird country with a series of challenges provided by comments on UA-cam
This is a cool idea
That Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution is so cool sat next to it
GD STI's are fantastic, much better than the newer STIs. 35:65 power split, more power to the rear wheels on an AWD platform is perfection. Especially JDM market STI's with the EJ207, twinscroll turbo 8250rpm redline from factory.
Hawk STI split is not 35:65, I think it was 45:55
@@petkokrushev3840 For US market correct, JDM market was 35:65 up until GR. US market final year of 35:65 was 2005.
Cheeky Pajero Evo in the background 😍
I love this channel
Do May's Evo next 😂
what is that tokyo streets backdrop, and does anyone know where i can get one?
More details on the work, please.
Best r34 is millenium jade yes, but the most underrated is the yellow
Only this guy could love a ‘soft gold’ car
ok thats a pendulum track from 5:00 lol
Hey, Richard may need that cramp on for climbing into his new truck...haha
Not sure if I’d have started off that list of JDM halo cars with the Forester STi 😂
The bumper mounting framework may well be bent outa shape... definitely worth checking/replacing or straightening before new bumper is fitted.
Just, dont ask me how i know
That skyline is the nicest car I’ve ever seen
Legend has it that he ate that jelly off camera.
that subaru looks like daewoo nexia from behind. :D
My only criticism is that we need more videos. Proper bingeworthy stuff
Nice to see the car being restored. They do rot badly.
Forester STI: SIGN ME UP! (Well, I'm hoping it's no later than 2008 tho -- size preference.)
