Is The 2022 Nissan Titan The Best Traditional Truck For You?

  • The 2022 Nissan Titan is very traditional in the sense that typical things associated with trucks..are standard on the Titan. Take the V8 with 400 HP for example or the column mounted shifter. There's a lot more to the Titan than people would expect and it comes with a great warranty.

      @@G-Force_70how can someone put a reliability rating on a truck that's a year old? Any new vehcile even a toyta is going have teething issues. Toyta is know to address such problems quickly. However I would still purchase a 21 or older tundra with a bullet proofv8 known for pinnicle of long term reliability. Now that the tundra and Tacoma are changing over to hybrid and 4 cyclnder turbos, the Nissan line of trucks (of they don't follow the trend" will be the last Japanese manf. To have naturally aspirated v6 and v8s.

      @jmabs5096 Thank you for the reply but Nissan is dropping the Titan so also dropping the V8 from the Full-size Pick-up. They do however have a proven twin turbo platform that may have saved the Titan in the 3.8L twin turbo in the GTR.

    I own a 2021 titan platinum reserve. After owning a GMC , Ford, and Dodge Trucks for a minimum of 10 years each I am extremely happy with the Titan. A great rear end gear ratio so good for towing and street use and averaging 21 mpg AND I’ve been able to get 24 mpg with cruise control and a speed of 70 mph.
    The rear seats fold both up and down and for me that was important because sometimes I like to be able to slide tools and camp equipment at my waist height versus bending over to place on rear floor. Nissan is the only outfit that still does that. The Endurance motor is great as well as the suspension for a 4x4.
    So many other good things AND it’s the only ONLY real truck totally built in the United States in Tennessee. All parts and only built their unlike the Big Three where some are from the US or Mexico or some place not in the US.
    That’s my view.

      Great review! How are you liking it now, 6 months later? I'm looking at getting a new Titan in 2024. I know it's the last year. I wish they made the gas tank larger than 26 gallons and a manual transmission option. I want a King Cab V8, 6.5 foot bed, halogen lights, column shifter, keyed ignition and less bells and whistles. High-tech is dumbing people down on purpose while being labeled as progress. Younger people can't even read a map, a clock with hands or use a rotary phone. Thanks.

I get about 1.5 mpg on average less in this but that's due to local driving. and the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty gives you piece of mind for a large part of the ownership of the truck. I wanted simple so hopefully less things to go wrong as compared to the big 3

    Great truck! Acquired the "XD" the better (tow/payload) version, in Alert Red color, Pro4x trim. 2020 and newer only come with gas engine. The XD gets, as a standard, 6.5ft bed with crew cab setup and more ground clearance. If you want value, quality and reliability, this is it. Built in Mississippi with the best warranty in the business! Very comfortable ride quality. I almost put money down on the new tundra but had a hard pass due to no "V8", and learned about this XD version of the titan.Glad I did though. My affordable dream truck. oh and btw, i like that I do not see my truck on the roads, dirt trails often. Regular Titan is the least selling full size truck, selling on average like 1,000-2,000 titans per month. So low production and the "XD" production is even much lower. ✌️

This is the best option for that type of use. Great warranty. I also think they look great. I am very happy with this one as well as the 04, 09, and 15 that I have had, each has averaged 250,000 miles at trade-in! The 22 keeps up the tradition of solid, well built, common sense trucks of the previous ones as each has added a feature or two. The only thing I miss is the really wide rear power window. It was nice to be able to be able to crack it open a bit when parked on a sunny day, but I think there's more behind the rear seat space without it. It saddens me that this could be my last Titan.

    I bought a 4x4 Xterra new in 2007. It now has 270,000 miles on it and the only thing I've replaced in the drivetrain is the starter which got flakey at 245,000 miles. That is it. Parts are cheap (only buy OEM!). It is still so reliable I drove it from Texas to Utah to wheel and back last month. Guys on Xterra forum have up to 390,000 on original drivetrain. Guys.....it is eye opening to have a vehicle this reliable. I was a GM guy all my life, but after THIS, F that. I am shopping for a truck to tow a larger trailer and thought I wanted a F150. I spent some time on the F150 forums and I had flashbacks to all my years of owning GM products. After owning the Xterra (built on shortened Titan platform with same transmission etc) where all I've done for 16 years is change all fluids on time, starter, radiator, coil packs/plugs and brake pads, I'm not willing to go back to the hell of owning anything else.

    I just traded my 2015 Pro4X, for a 2022 Titan Pro4X XD. I have always owned Nissan vehicles, and my love for Nissans does not stop at the Titan. I tow a 8,000 lbd 5th wheel with it… and the truck does not skip a beat. I like how you mention the ride quality. I agree, it’s not a Cadillac, but I don’t anticipate my truck to ride like one. I like the solid feel. People want the “pillow” ride feel, then the complain that the have to install airbags, with a small trailer. These are great trucks. Very underestimated.

    • @Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix
      @Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix Рік тому +1

      I like the fact that my XD tows with the same stability that you get in a 3/4 ton but with a much better ride. Sure you can spec an F150 to tow more but I've towed the same trailer with an F150 5.0 and a Tundra and neither come close when it comes to stability and confidence. The trailer really moved the F150 around and also moved the tundra, but not as much. It didnt move my XD around at all. And when its windy you really appreciate the stabikity of the XD. I dont need 3/4 ton capability but I do tow on the heavier side. So for my needs the Titan XD delivers the same stability as a 3/4 ton but a better ride. I personally would not tow over 10k in a half ton, I d9nt care what its rated for, they're too light in my opinion, and it really showed in the F150 because the trailer moved it around .ore than the Tundra. Power wise, the tundra got the load moving with less effort, but once the 5.0 in the ford got the rpms up to 4500 it pulled just as hard as the 5.7 whem accelerating onto the hwy. Neither towed badly but neither had the stability of the XD.
