Jean Grey was always my personal favorite in these games. As it was, she was already my favorite character in media, but her telekinesis gives her a unique niche that only Magneto was able to replicate in the following game.
Ok in the first game psycich shout is broken bc of telekinetic combat which increases ALL mental damage raising her strike stats to like 357-542 damage per hit in the second one a much needed nerf was given to her and she now fits into the “above average character”

I think It was more like a combination and retelling of their history because if you play through the entire game they have flashback missions where they are fighting in their classic costumes and they just eventually evolve into the ultimate costumes that they have in the game

Fun fact that probably not a lot of people know, if you level up Emma Frost as a tank from the moment you unlock her by the end of the game, she could solo the big bad.
Second is way better for the fact that you can play the game with the same stats instead of having to level your characters all over after beating the first game
Storm is #1 in this game , she takes down Sentinels far easier, and can handle the Nuke mission obstacles by herself. Jean is a close second. I'd have to go with Nightcrawler as #3, followed by Iceman , Cyclops , and Wolverine.
SECOND game is better. Better story, MORE characters (if you do the PSP version you get an extra 4 characters) and importantly - i was able to finish the second one, whereas the first one had a timed level on a ship which nobody in my family could ever complete, even if you were only Nightcrawler

2nd game is better. I play it constantly, I play the first once a year. There's not much difference in the way you can build the characters in the first game , reducing its replayability. Second game's biggest flaw was equipment management.
I didn't like Legends as much due to roster limitation and inability to really play around with top level team. But Legends 2 and Ultimate Alliance are my favorite Marvel games

I played this, but I mostly played X-Men Legends 2 with friends in 4 player co-op. We are no longer friends, however, and that game I played is an experience I'll never have again. There's such a massive difference between single player and co-op and it's not even close

I like the 2nd game better because you could put together a team of X-Men and some of their greatest villains. Having a team of Sabertooth, Wolverine, Juggernaut, and Colossus was so much fun. Plus, you could unlock Iron Man and add him to the mix...
X-Men Legends 2 is worlds better. The first one has a good story, but it's hilariously unbalanced because it was the first of its kind. Later stages will have you scrounging around for health potions and backtracking to save points to revive your entire party while your last guy is at 1% HP. I wish it got remade under Legends 2's engine and game mechanics so you can warp back to base to heal and stuff.
This game is f_*king hard. Couldn't beat the 2nd level. Couldn't beat Pyro and the save making is horrible on PS2. Can only save on 1 slot. Need specific characters alive to make bridges to keep going. Go check out Godzillamendoza's review of this to understand what i mean.

I loved the ability to tweak the offensive/defensive abilities of whoever you didn’t directly control. You didn’t have to think about heals as much.

I maxed out my Nightcrawler to teleport qll over the place. I died more teleporting out of the map than enemies attacks.

Ultimate Alliance capitalized on everything learned here, and Ultimate Alliance 2 is still pretty good.
