Awesome Ram 50! I have an '87 4x4 5-speed with a G54b and (knockoff) 32/36 Weber; an '87 2 wd long bed auto with a G54b with original (😱) Mikuni carb; and a '90 2wd 5-speed with fuel injected G63b (yay!!). They're called Sputter, Ramsey, and Princess respectively 😄
...my timing chain has a bit of slack, about 1/2" or so, on the driver's side ... passenger side is tight, the side where the tensioner is installed ...the chain, sprockets, all look good & shinny, no sign of damage as far as the eye can see ... should this be a concern ? G54B engine, 2.6L auto, gas ..
Yes! I have an engine rebuild kit I want to install this summer. I also have a little AMR300 supercharger I was going to throw on there for fun after the rebuild. I ultimately want to upgrade the engine to fuel injected DOHC turbo, which I plan to make a video on, but I don't know when that will be. I have a head and an ECU and some turbo parts. Still collecting parts though.
Video might be deceiving it but the spark plug gap looks way too wide, these engines like NGK or Denso spark plugs and the plug gap should be around 0.39-0.43.
It probably is. It does have a random ebay coil on it though, so who knows what it should really be. I have a rebuild kit for it when I get some time, I'll get some new plugs and make sure the gap is correct when I do that.
Be cool to see a little build series on this. Keep it up man!
It's been on the list!
Do you have any projects?

Nice! Thank you. I actually have 2 videos worth of stuff filmed on this truck. I just need to edit them. Trying to get some firebird videos out first.
I have a 87 ram 50 and the driver seat is toast but the dash is perfect and most 80's models dashes i have ever seen are really cracked
All my previous minis had cracked dashes. I need to get some room in the shop to keep the sun off it.
And it's freaking cute!

my g54b 2.6L cold start rpm is too high (2,200 about) , the idle too low ... how to adjust ?
Clean truck
Thanks man
@@JohnHamerProjects no problem
Nice truck. I had an 85 Sport back in the day and wish I still had it. Do you plan on making any more videos of this 88?

I might be over a year late, but your float is probably stuck open. That could have also caused some of the smoking, if it was black smoke.
I'm sure it was the float.

I got a 89 rocker arm broke for no reason
Hello , nice truck , what webber carb kit and how much was it.
It was an Ebay weber (knockoff). I bought it years ago, but I think it was around 100 dollars. It's like a 32/36 I think.
These trucks not worth buying parts are rare to find most of these are crushed
How many miles?
Sorry for the late reply. I kept forgetting to look. It has 147K on it. I am the second owner.
