I’m here because I watched Byrson Dechambeau with Jon Daily break 50
Episode. Jon Daily had a little rant about big grips and getting fitted for grips…how no one does it. Then he says the bigger the grip the better you’ll play… You guys need to send him a gift ha no telling on how many people will be purchasing bigger grips thanks to the legends endorsement. Can’t wait to get mine!
Also I know Bryson has been preaching it for forever but Jon Daily just put it over the top.
Because of that video and conversation I just ordered these grips.
We loved it, too!
@@phyliscyben3933 I ordered some and it was immediately a game changer! I couldn’t believe it…The best move I’ve ever made - I had no idea what I was missing. It felt amazing and I shot my best round on 9 holes the very time using them.
Me too lol
Update: I ordered some of these grips and I’ve never had such a drastic improvement to my game… and instantly! I had no idea what I’ve been missing. I shot my best score on 9 holes the very first time using them… using 3 clubs. I hit a bucket of range balls and went and played. I only gripped my driver, 7 iron & 58 to try them. Ordered the rest that evening..
Totally agree with the injury statement. I have XXL hands and arthritic thumbs and really enjoy going to the range to hit 100 balls with no pain or discomfort. Recently switched from the large to the medium JumboMax and feel more comfortable. They are also great when hot and humid.
Thanks to Bryson and JumboMax for making golf easier and better.
I have used Jumbo tour wraps for over a decade and it was the best thing I ever did.
Thanks for letting us know!
I had some arthritis in my hands and forearms. According to their site Medium was the optimal size for me. Since changing I have had zero pain in my hands and forearms, and I gained 5mph on my swing. I use the Str8 tech medium. I love them.
We're so glad we could help. Being able to play without fear of pain is one of the greatest gifts any golfer of any age can receive.
Only a suggestion...
Stay away from sugar/high carb food.
Eat a "Carnivore way of eating", with animal fat.
Don't eat lean...animal gives us energy.
Good health.
Carnivore = many benefits.
@@norman-gregoryDefinitely stay away from sugar and high carb food. Just as important eat fatty fish one or two meals a week and maybe poultry as well. You should have a plant based diet! Stay away from beef (including dairy), pork, etc!
I’ve just changed all my grips to jumbomax xs nearly 60 and I really love them great grip they just feel so good in your hands
I realized that larger grips were the key to greater success 20 years ago and I began using the largest grips available with upholstery to 5 wraps on the shaft. Everybody told me that large grips promoted pushing and slicing the ball. Hogwash! Then I started using Enlow grips which were oversized with a reverse taper (like a baseball bat). Then Bryson started promoting the JumboMax grips and I immediately changed to the XL tour series. After some trial and error, I am now using the medium, non-tapered tour series ultra light grips and have finally found the optimum grip for me. Well, I say optimum, but I don’t really notice for sure because I didn’t go through a comprehensive grip fitting like this, but I’m happy with my results. Now, I’m trying to convince my son to pay attention to the science, but he is stubborn.
I’ve gone over to the st8 tech medium tour series. I absolutely love then . My driving was atrocious before. Always low and short . Now I have gained a lot of distance and the height is unbelievable. The only thing is after 2 rounds using my driver maybe 30 of the 36 holes and the top layer of film is already peeling.
It helped my friend a lot. Someone with extreme arthritis the JumboMax helped him control the club a lot better. We thought he will stop playing with us.
I have been wrapping my grips to extra size for over 10 years. I love it... BTW, I still play shit though.... but that's just because I don't get to play enough
Grip fitting is so underrated. I wish this was more popular in Canada.
I know there’s an app but It would be super fun/knowledgeable to see which grip works best in person.
That was a great video; I am going to look into a fitting.
The best thing to do now is to use our Intelligent Grip Fitting App for iOS devices. We built it with what we learned from these fittings and it's incredibly accurate.
Everyone saw the Daly comment.. but i played with my buddy who put JM XS on all of his clubs. He's very athletic single digit and fights a hook. His clubs felt awesome. I have trouble finding center of the face and have had right hand surgery.. JM XS feel buttery and I'm hitting center face again
Might be my favorite fitting video ever! 🐊🏌️♂️⛳️🦅🇺🇲💯
What did you like about it?
@Jumbomaxgrips how the difference between sizes can effect ball flight etc! In very interested in JumboMax grips even more now! 🐊
Great video John, My wife and I have been playing jumbo ultralites for a few years now but have never tried the tour grips due to swing weight concerns. I will definitely be purchasing and testing the tour grips. Thank you
This was excellent. Great questions asked by the fittee and good explanations by the fitter.
I’ve used JM grips for 4 years and would never go back. Size S Ultralight thru the bag. May have to try the Tour weight.
Eye opening fitting! 🤙🏻
It stands to reason if a larger putter grip can help you from twisting the face in the takeaway and follow through, the possibility of that happening with the rest of your clubs is one to consider. Golf is a " feel " game, and if your mind senses a smooth rhythm when you're swinging it translates to the rest of your body. We're all built different, we all swing different. I personally feel the larger the grip, the smoother your tempo. The weight is something entirely different and that is for the user to determine. I use graphite shafts throughout the bag, and for me to try a 100 gram plus grip is counterproductive. The JumboMax Ultralight medium with the weight they make it is a great compliment to the lighter clubs I have. I could give a dang about trying to impress with swing speed, I want accuracy, and these grips for me provide a feeling of comfort no midsize grip can match. It makes no sense to have Driver thru nine with jumbo grips, maybe wedges with standard or midsized. Too much of a drastic change in feel to get used to. I have great touch with the 60/56/58 and GW using the jumbos. The driver and long/mid irons don't drift offline like they did before when I hit with midsized because the face just doesn't have that much twist from takeaway to contact. Change is difficult, but your hands are the only connection you have to the club and you want that connection to be as comfortable as you can get it.
Testing is the way! We hope golfers read this and see that there are benefits to trying new things.
Playing the jumbo grips, the one concern I have putting it on all my clubs is that the same size feels different on every club when I grip each one. I noticed that the same size feels very good on my wedges but felt larger on my irons and even larger on my woods.
I noticed that the reason was that the shaft on my wedges were smaller in diameter than my irons and my woods shafts are larger in diameter and that’s why it felt bigger even though the grips are the same size.
So my solution was, I left the XS on my wedges ( vokey ) and put standard jumbo on my irons with woods . With extra tape on the iron shaft. Doing that gave me the same feel on all my clubs. Cost me more money but it worked for me.
That's incredible sensitivity. Tour-level stuff! Glad you're loving your set up.
I mean.. the logic behind the larger grips totally make sense to me. Just ordered a full set of the Extra Small tour series based on what the fitting tool recommended. We will see how they feel.
Please let us know!
@lesserkey how did you like them I also was recommended xs and I would like to know of you like them or wished you would have just went with a small instead
@@anthonygarrison4310 I really like them. Even the XS are substantially bigger than standard grips. But now I don’t see my self ever going back to standard grips. These are comfortable and it feels like I have more control over the club face. Definitely worth it
Don't they make standard grips feel awful? Like... "how did we ever play with those?"
Do you wear small glove?
I would strongly recommend anyone trying these before buying.
The grips themselves feel great and are clearly excellent quality - possibly the best construction out there BUT they dont work for everyone.
I lost ball speed, swing speed (and distance obviously). I lost nearly 20 yards on a 7 iron.
I ended up going back to a mid size grip after 2 months of trying to get them to work for me.
20 yards on a 7i? That's not a grip issue my guy I guarantee that
@@thrillkillcult999 I had a regular grip 7 iron I was using alongside it, only significant difference was the grip. The grip has alot to do with how fast you can move the wrists. I love how you "guarantee" it without knowing anything further 🤣
I had to put one of these on my Qi10 Ls driver because of the stock club’s swing weight. Taylor made doesn’t tell you that the head of the driver is pretty much heavier than all other drivers. I have an X-stiff 65g shaft and the club just felt way off balance. The Javier grip made it feel more balanced, especially after taking 3/4” off the grip end of the shaft to bring it to standard length. I’ve had several people use the driver in stock form and they all said the head felt heavy and flexed a lot even with an X-stiff shaft. If a driver feels “whippy” with an X-stiff shaft in stock form something is wrong.
so this is a super good golfer, probably scratch or even a plus hcp. I would love to see a 5-8hcp golfer do a fitting. I'm a 5hcp with 98-100 club speed and ball speed 146-147 with carry around 240-250.
The results tend to be quite similar. More speed. Tighter dispersion. We're going to be doing more of this.
Great content! I wish you guys would do more content like this. Could you do a fitting like this with a more typical swing speed player? What this guy does is pretty amazing, but not majority of public reaches anywhere near this guy.
We're working on doing more fitting videos. One of the reason to film with more experienced players is that they hit the center of the club face more often and that makes it easier to show the differences between our grips.
@@Jumbomaxgripsthat would be of great value to us mortals aswell to see the effect of the bigger grips positive or negative on off centred strikes.
Great video! What grip weight should someone with a slower swing speed use … the ultralight (40g), standard (~60g), or heavier (120g)?
It really depends on your ball flight. If your start line tends to be too far right, heavier grips tend to help. If your start line is too far left, lighter grips tend to help.
@@Jumbomaxgrips Thank you. I have ordered a couple of Ultralight to test out.
I have the JM small in the tour series in all my clubs and there’s definitely a higher trajectory in all my clubs.
Counter-balanced grips tend to create higher launch and lower spin.
Where can we go for a grip fitting like this?
We're not offering fittings like this just yet, but it's something we're working to provide with our retailers. As you might have seen in the video, our Online Grip Fitting Tool is incredible accurate: jumbomax.com/pages/grip-fitting. We're also working on a new Grip Fitting App that will scan your hand to help you find your best size.
From there, you'll want to determine if our lightweight grips (JMX UltraLite, JMX Zen Lite) or counterbalanced grips (Tour Series, Comfort Wrap) are best for your game.
Again, as the video showed, golfers that struggle with a push or block tend to do best with counterbalanced grips.
We are currently working to establish a nationwide network of fitters. In the meantime, you'll get very accurate results from our online grip fitting tool.
so are these grips only affective only for high speed swing golfers
No, they work for everyone. Long Drive is simply adopting them first because they win and lose based on speed. We generally see 3-6 mph of swing speed increase with JumboMax.
4 years with jumbo it identifies where the head and face are at any speed Just like a good hammer
The online grip fitting tool is great… but how do I know if I want a light or heavy grip without being lucky enough to do a professional fitting? Is there some swing parameters to go by like speed?
Here's an article we wrote on that: jumbomax.com/pages/grip-weight
How much would help on a set of irons , the green weighted ones
Not sure what you mean... weight or price?
@Jumbomaxgrips would a set of the the weighted grips help on a set of irons as in feel and strikes
Is there somewhere in Denver that you do grip fittings? Been thinking about trying these grips out and would love to go through this process.
For right now, you're going to want to use our online grip fitting tool. We are working on adding new grip fitting centers.
I use midsize grips right now with a wrist to finger tip measurement of 8" on a thin hand with think fingers. My drover miss is left otherwise I'm fairly straight for the most part. I'm a high handicap golf nerd with a lower end swing speed for a 6'4" guy. I tried the online app but......can you point me to a place to start?
What size did the app say?
@@Jumbomaxgrips I just didn’t trust it. Same as your golfer in the video. I downloaded the app also and it scanned my hand which was different but when it presented the answer, it wasn’t an answer it was more choices. When I made my choice it still seemed to have options in size? Wrap, etc. which confused me because the app was supposed to determine the size. How do I know if I need +3/16 with it trying it? Then I decided to go to the store and try them out but no one within 1.5 hrs of me stocks them.
By nature, the App and the Online Grip Fitting tool are sometimes going to deviate because one is using a glove size (estimate) and one is using a hand scan.
Our advice for first timers is to error on the smaller size since JumboMax is so much bigger than any other grip you've tried.
If I use a jumbomax on my XXIO X Forged irons, will it mess up the counter weight they use in the shafts?
For super lightweight clubs like XXIO, we want you to look specifically at UltraLite and Zen Lite. Counter balance grips tend to not work well with super lightweight clubs.
This guy hits every shot dead on the start line, that’s impressive
Do u do fittings in Myrtle beach or Florida?
Where can I see fitting bookings online?
We're in the process of building out a nationwide fitting program, but that will take some time. You'll want to use our new Intelligent Fitting App for iPhone/iPad or use our online grip fitting tool. Both were developed based on these in-person fittings and incredibly accurate.
Thanks
I did the online fitting
Says small…
Went to local shop and I liked the zenlite feel the best…
But the zenlite small was thicker than the jmx medium.
Anyway
I put a zenlite on driver and pw
..
Pw was a d3/d4 with mc4 grip
Put the zenlite and now d2
My driver showing a d8 now
So now what?
Are you having any issues with your ball flight or consistency? We tell golfers not to worry too much about swing weight since it is simply a static measurement if they're hitting it good... especially if it's just a point or two.
If the driver feels too heavy, you could try adding a bit of lead tape below the grip as Justin Rose does to dial in the swing weight. A little more counterbalance will create a ball flight that wants to stay a bit more left. You could also trim the shaft 0.5 inches to reduce swing weight about 3 points.
What is Zac’s hand size and glove size. He looks huge on camera?
Anyone notice how it was harder for him to turn it over when he was hitting his fairway finder? Tip: choke down for your fairway finder - the extra bit of grip and shaft behind your hands will act as a counterbalance. Helping you turn it over at slower speeds.
Is it the same grip throughout the irons too?
Absolutely. You don't want to change the torque profiles of your grips through the bag.
Where can I get a grip fitting like this in the NY area?
We're working on building out a nationwide network of fitters. For the time being, we recommend you download our new Intelligent Grip Fitting App for iPhone/iPad or use the online grip fitting tool on our website. They are extremely accurate.
I switched to the tour series xl grips a few months ago and only wish I had done so years ago. I wear an XXL glove and my height is 6'2".
Im about 5 '8 and hand are not to big. I can fit into a small or med golf glove but i mainly use a size small in glove. Should i go with XS jumbo max or MID jumbo max ??? Need some advise
We'd recommend you start with our Standard Jumbo (SJ) size. It's perfect for golfers that want to try something bigger than any other grip, but one that's not so big that it's a radical change.
@Jumbomaxgrips well the thing is I have midsize on my clubs and that even feels Iike small.
Standard Jumbo is way bigger than midsize.
Where can I find a grip fitting like this?
We're working to offer this at retailers across the country. For the time being, the best thing to do is use our Intelligent Grip Fitting app in the app store to get a highly accurate measurement. We're here for further questions once you know your size.
Can you get this kind of grip fitting in Scotland?
You should absolutely use our Online Grip Fitting Tool. We're in the process of creating a network of in-person grip fitters.
As a hockey player. My golf clubs always feel so small. I think this is what I need
It's what everyone needs! Use our online grip fitting tool to find your best size.
Do these grips create club tangle problems in the golf bag?
They can be an issue with smaller bags, but they're usually not problematic with larger bags.
What cart bag do you recommend for clubs with jumbomax large grips?
Most cart bags are going to work. These slimmer carry bags can be an issue, even for standard grips. Most bags offer free returns, so certainly give them a try before you commit to one.
@@Jumbomaxgrips Thanks
I have a C-130, and these grips fit fine.
I have a C-130, and these grips fit fine.
Im a new golfer from baseball and Ive gotten my path good (error IO if anything) and my avg swing speed with driver is 115ish and I really feel like my wrist is gonna snap when I try and let the head get ahead of my hands. I really wish there was somewhere to demo these.
Lessons, lessons, lesson. But how much do you think about your hands "releasing" in baseball? It's probably not something you're consciously thinking about, right? Great golfers feel the same way.
Is there a place in Australia in New South Wales that does jumbomax grip fittings?
Not at this time, but we are beginning to work with fitters to offer this experience to everyone.
I understand the tech of it but the online fitting doesn’t help too much especially when you have someone changing out grips to dial in the numbers; so how do we do the same thing vs only using the online tool - how do I know if it is correct without swinging it beforehand? Also, what about using swing speed as well or is it only glove size, ball path and grip pressure? (Which Im not sure about the grip pressure)
Everything gets better when your start using the right size grip. The weight changes are important, but they're secondary to size. The app is incredibly accurate with sizing, and we're working on adding a weight component. The short story is if your start line is too far left, you want an UltraLight or Zen Lite. If your start line is too far right, you want a Tour Series or Comfort Wrap.
How about an 85 mph driver??
We generally see 3-6 mph more swing speed from golfers of all swing speeds.
I went with Jumbo MAx grips last year on all my clubs and I’ll never go back to standard grips. I can swing as hard as I want most of the time with minimal consequences for a miss hit.
This dude would get tired of me topping every hit
how do i get fit for these grips in India? Any chance?
We don't have any retailers in India, but you should try our Intelligent Fitting App for iOS or the Fitting Tool on our website. It's incredibly accurate.
JumboMax grips come in MANY sizes...
After the Regular, Midsize and Jumbo grips, you have the JumboMax "SERIES" of grips.
They come in JumboMax XSmall, Small, Medium, Large and XL.
ANY of these are better than the regular toothpick width grips.
Is there anywhere you can go to get this type of fitting? PGA superstore, club champion, etc… thanks!
You should absolutely use our Online Grip Fitting Tool. We're currently working on creating a network of in-person grip fitters.
any places around Chicagoland, or close to, that will fit your grips? I love these grips but I'm tired of buying and trying different models and sizes.

@@Jumbomaxgrips thanks. do you know which one? Orland Park didn't do this last time I checked, but it has been a while so I try them again or if you can recommend a particular location, that be great! thanks
Is this service offered to the public? (A question from a local high handicapper)
Not at this time, but you should definitely try our online fitting tool on our website. It's incredibly accurate.
I recently bought a three wood with a mid-size grip and it completely destroyed the swing weight, I put a standard tour wrap grip on and it transformed the club . God knows what these will do to the swing weight of any club they are fitted onto.
So, did the fitting tool and told me small but gives no recommendation as to weight. How do we figure that without buying various grips and wrecking them?
If your start lines are too far right, Tour Series or Comfort Wrap generally work well. If your start lines are too far left or you must maintain a traditional swing weight, UltraLite or Zen Lite generally work well.
The best thing to do is pick up one of each and do some testing. You'll know in a few range sessions. We are also working on building out a weight recommendation, but we find that golfers tend to be opened to counterbalanced grips... or not. That is changing, thankfully, and that's great because they have a lot to offer.
That guy is huge!!! 305 yard carry, im not surprised. He should use a God damn log as a club. I thought he will punch a hole in the wall using the golf ball.
Modest too. I like him

Bought the exact grip bryson uses and fitted to my driver. Completely eliminated the snap hook from my game. Unreal!
Unfortunately i had a lesson from the club pro and he convinced me to remove it. Worst decision ever. I wish i could go back but postage to Ireland cost is outrageous. 1 grip cost me 60euro with postage!
Yes, that's too much. We do have some UK-based retailers like adoregolfgrips.com that should be able to save you some coin.
@@JumbomaxgripsThanks for the info I'm a big fan of your work. I went straight to the site you posted but unfortunately even from the UK the price was bananas. To send one ultralite grip to my house is £36 or just over $47 US. If you'd like a distributor in Ireland please pm me. The rise of UA-cam golf, Bryson, Peter Finch, Martin borgmeier, and now rick shiels is making your grips blow up here but people won't commit to trying them because there's no way to get them at your own, very reasonable price!
Take a look at Adore Grips. They're a UK retailer so you'll pay a normal price.
I just did. The postage costs more than the grip from adore also. £36 which is $47 for 1 grip delivered to me in Ireland
It sounds like we need some retailers in Ireland. Tell your local shops to get in touch!
Swing weight?
Our light grips (UltraLite, Zen Lite) aren't going to reduce swing weight. Our heavier grips (Tour Series, Comfort Wrap) are going to reduce swing weight. But as you saw in the video, swing weight really isn't that big of a deal. Even at the extremes.
What about it?
Jack Nicklaus counter balanced all of his clubs starting in the 1960's.
100%. Imagine how far he would have hit it with today's equipment.
Jumbomax are the best. I went to the extreme with counterbalance, it was fast and straight initially but over time I couldn't control it. A little bit goes along way. And having the weight in the handle like jmx works nicer than a crude weight in the butt end. Also a little bit goes a long way in sizing with jumbomax too.
This guy is not why I would buy these grips. He’s an excellent golfer, young, strong, bombs it. I on the other hand, I am in my 60s with terrible arthritis in my hands and wrists, happy with bogey golf. I would like to be able to play for another 10 to 15 years. I hope these grips make that possible. all this technical stuff about swing speed, face angle, blah blah blah. I just want to continue to play more in my latter years.
What you may not know is that our company's roots are in golfers like yourself. Recently, we've working hard to show younger and stronger golfers that bigger grips are better for them, too. That's why you're seeing more content like this.
Based on what you've shared, JumboMax Grips are a no brainer for you. If you're struggling to hold the club, JumboMax is going to make a dramatic difference in your game and the shock-absorption qualities are as friendly as it gets for your joints.
Adding these grips is like dropping a 5 pound dumbbell into the bottom of your golf bag
That is funny. Do they make it much harder to get your damn clubs out of the bag ? (And back in?)
Jack Reacher plays golf??
At $16.00 a grip, you better know which size is the best for you...get fit before buying.
Do the wedges first and you will work up the bag.
This has less to do with grips and more to do with altering swing weights
Grips play a huge part in performance. That is why it is important to get fit for the right grip and weight. Maybe try watching it again and see how much Zak's swing improved!
I recently bought a three wood with a mid-size grip and it completely destroyed the swing weight, I put a standard to a wrap grip on and it transformed the club . God knows what these will do to the swing weight of any club they are fitted onto.
