Hey everyone, sending out much love from Manchester ❤️
Played it the last 6 monts on my fairwaywoods and driver absoluzley love it. I think its more easy to hit it straight. Btw im 14 so im had reqly long fingers so its okay using the large size. Loving your videos and your new indoor setup!
Much love from Dublin pete 💪
I miss seeing the colabs with you and Shields! The 2nd hand yearly challenge was my favorite! Cheers from the states mate!
Hi Pete! TXG has shown in some sample that larger grips do limit club face rotation but it’s a 3-4 degree effect max I believe
Good video Pete from Montréal!
When you get to be 71 like me and the arthritis starts to creep in using soft jumbo grips makes playing a lot easier.
I regripped a set of senior clubs for my father to get him back into playing. I liked them so much I through a jumbo on my driver and midsize on everything else.
I am 33 and I can already feel my hands starting to go. I use a fatter grip and I can easily swing more than with the stock size. Then I grew up playing baseball so maybe it's just a comfort thing that I'm used to
I was going to say I've been struggling with aching knuckles and fingers for a week after a round since I was 35.. I need to check them out.
I am only 35 but struggle with arthritis and tendonitis. Cp2 jumbo grips from golf pride were a game changer.
I'm not quite ready for jumbo grips but I did recently switch to mid-size grips and it has made a big difference in my being able to grip since my arthritis kicked in a few years ago.
“Big piece of cork in my hands “ pause hahahahah 😂😭
Guessing if you were to regrip with cork, one would have to soak them. Is there a preferred technique to cork soaking?
I have these in medium size, love ‘em! From driver to pitching wedge, actually feels weird to grab a normal grip now.
"That is horrendous, that feels so alien." - Me, anyday on the course.
Have the medium version and love them. Helped get rid of my slice as well.
Absolutely loved this video Pete! As a former baseball player, I've wondered about using larger grips on my clubs since I began playing, but now after this video I'm seriously considering it. Love your videos, keep up the good work!
I play with oversized grips and felt they really helped me a lot. I might go with these jumbo grips when I need to get my set re-gripped at some point this spring.
Those are the same ones I use. Love them.
I'm almost 6' 5" and have pretty big hands, these grips pretty much saved my game.
A friend of mine tried my clubs and he said it was like holding baseball bats.
Yes, they do take some getting used to, but once you get used to them, you'll never go back.
With the small grips, I used to have issues with the club turning a tad bit in my hands. Never knew exactly where the club face was, with the big grips, I know exactly where the club face is.
I'm a teaching pro, for years I've used jumbo grips and tell anyone who will listen to change...standard grips were invented in what the 30s? Biggest issue in golf is your grip...btw you forgot two of the best ball strikers ever, Moe Norman and John Daly ? yep, big grips
im gonna get them !!! i always find it hard to grip such a small shaft...and with big grip your wrists dont move that mucj..
@@criticalhistory2023 yeah you should...I have average size hands and when I watch guys on the range fiddling with their grips it's like Shaq holding the ball...
You will love it and wonder why standard even exists...I think all beginners should have the molded training grip to start...if grip ain't right your swing will never be right...most overlooked thing in golf
@@andrefecteau great bro! ...for a middle seize hand and thin and pretty long fingers what exact model would you recommend? 🤔🤔
@@criticalhistory2023 jumbo...everyone should see that as new "standard"
Been using these for over a year. Absolutely love them. They do feel strange for a couple of rounds but gripping a normal club now feels ridiculous.
I've been looking for a review of these JumboMax grips, so thanks Peter!
Trying out the Jumbo Max STR8's this week. I bought two of the Jumbo Max grips and hits balls with the 8 and 9 iron and tried it on a driver. It is such a secure fit that you can relieve the stress in forearm which helps with their movement. The grips have helped my son and for sure, they feel strange until you get used to them. Then go back to your originals you can also feel the difference in the amount of pressure you use to actually hold the club.
I've been using the Jumbo Max grips for six months now on all my clubs and I love them. I feel it reduces unwanted wrist movement which for me has lead to more consistency. I grip them with a conventional grip and don't feel I have to bow and hold off like you were doing. My advice would be to give them a try and don't be too hasty to disregard them. Persist a bit and I'm sure a lot of people will like them.
I thinned the arse off that one had me dying 😂
I was dying when he said that as well
Thanks for keeping our spirits high this lockdown Pete (No pun intended!)!
Pete, Bobby from the states. You’re the absolute man. Watching you for 4 years. Such a good attitude and super informative, entertaining, etc. Cheers!
"A big piece of cork in your hands" hunh, Pete? Pretty excited you and the Good, Good crew are getting together! Is it safe to say Matt Fryer and Rick Shiels will also be joining?
A Castenada shout out?!?! Stoked to see a colab with the God Good Guys. 2 of the best golf channels getting together!
100% agree. Watch Pete and Good Good religiously
A Castenada shout out is the best for everyday golfers!
Would love to see this!
That kids a total scrub. Why would Pete waste his time playing with someone that bad lol?
@@spap4460 I didn't say he should play with you!
I just started playing, been using standard grips. Well, I have 10” catchers mitts for hands and have just switched to oversize grips. It makes such an incredible positive difference.
Peter, this vid of yours really makes me feel having a good fun watching it and I don't even know why.. great one sir. I've enjoyed it.
I just use the edge of my bed, my basement floor with a plastic tub from walmart and a wall with one of my hoodies on the floor as a "stand" for my regripping "station". Works like a charm =D
I use the air compressor at my course, gets grips on and off easily
Some of the straightest shots we have seen you hit Pete!!
I just switched to a large grip due to my weaker grip in my left hand, and have seen my swing improve greatly. Thank you Ken from my local Golf Discount for recommending them. Great video Finchy! Love ya buddy!
Great video, as always! Don’t forget they make oversized grips in different sizes for different sized hands. I have these grips in a medium, I like them.
“This is the time I’d love to have a garage” - you have a whole bloody simulator room, why didn’t you just do it there 😂
All I can think about when you say a thick piece of cork is that Cork Soakers SNL skit lol...
i just had my hybrids, irons, and wedge re-gripped to the Jumbo Super Stroke Comfort Grips. not as large as the jumbo max but larger than the standard i did had before. only hit the range once so for, so i'm still learning to adapt to them. needed to use larger grips due to the pain and arthritis in my hands. looking forward to taking them out on the course soon.
Love your videos man! I want to golf every time I watch you. Keep it up!!!
13:25. When the barber asks if you like your haircut
So true 😂
Don't sell yourself short Pete, you are right up there with the best of cat videos. :)
I've been using the older version of the jumbo max grips for a few years now and love them. Have some pain issues in my hands and also was very "handsy" in my swing and they help both issues a lot.
Good info pete thank you. Personally i switched from stock grips to midsize last year. It was the first time i played with a larger grip in my 40 years of playing and i must say i was shocked by how much it has improved my game so i can see the benefits of a larger grip. Now i may try to regrip one of my older clubs to these jumbo grips and give it a go!
I put the MMC +4s on my full set, and it's easily the most significant equipment upgrade I've ever made. Don't ignore your grips!
Have recently done similar and have to agree.
Very true. If you use a large glove, those feel perfect in the hands
@@drywater_ I’m a M-L cadet and love them as well so I don’t think they are limited. Feel.
me too, an 2nd round in i shoot an 80. 5 shots better than my PB, love these grips
The MCC plus4 are tiny compared to the jumbo Max mediums. I have smallish hands and play the mediums. Love them
Steve put them on his clubs and before we knew it he would use his own irons until he got them off😂
Had a fitting for new irons in September last year. My grips are now mid size grips with 3 tapes. Definitely feels more comfortable in the hand. It kind of makes sense; I also have an extra grip on my cricket bat - so it's about what I'm used to 😉
It’s about time grips like these we’re finally made👍🏻🇨🇦⛳️
I want to try these, but I feel like I would have such a hard time getting the clubs in and out of my bag
It’s really no different than regular grips unless you have a smaller than normal bag. But the grips are definitely worth it!
Dam! I didn't even think about that.
I have a 14 top Callaway and have no problem with my WINN Oversized LT and because of the Less Taper they're one of the thickest grips at the base.
That's the only downside
Use the same grip as Bryson but have them in medium. They are the correct size for my hands.
Finger tips touch the palm on my left hand but I do have hands the size of shovels 😂
Love them also have them in medium!! So easy on the hands too!
Getting mediums installed as we speak ... can't wait to try these bad boys out.
Just put the mediums on my clubs a few days ago. I like them. Have to get used to them but it has already softened (loosened) my grip pressure and feels like I have better control. Also, I have no issues with getting them into my bag, a Sun Mountain C-130 with individual pockets in case anyone is wondering about that.
Winn dry tac tour wrap- I love the feel and my ADD goes nuts with all the other alignment markings
Great informative vids as usual....well done Mr Finch
Perfect video to insert the "That's what she said" in so many places!
haha so true!
a big piece of what in your hands?! haha
i have always used standard sized grips but it always feels very awkward and cramped for my hands gripping the club so i will definitely have to consider bigger grips, maybe not that big
I have ML glovsize and i am playing light oversized grips ( Karma ultra light oversize 58 gr ) i love them !! I think Vinn allso have some ultralight oversize as well
I had the same feeling, but it really got better when I got the JMX Ultralite, however in Size S instead of XL as seen in this video. They are just slightly bigger than the standard oversize grip (which the guys at Jumbomax refer to as XS) and I'm so much more relaxed in my hands. I heard good things about WINN Oversize grips, too (they are also less expensive than the jumbomax). I use ML Gloves btw.
Great peice .. loved it . The unintended humor gave me a good chuckle . gonna try these grips .
A couple years ago I dislocated a finger on my right hand and have been dealing with occasional pains especially when I thin a shot. I switched to the Jumbomax and don't have much data, but haven't had any aches or pains using those grips and I like the way they feel. I had a normal grip on my 3 utility iron trying it out and I did feel the pain a couple times on thin shots so I'm pretty sure that the bigger grips do help and could help people relieve some issues if they have aches or pains in their hands.
Bryson is trying to keep his left elbow pointed towards the target for as long as possible. He explained it in GM golf's video. Maybe that feel can help you, Pete. Great video!!
Yeah saw that GM video, was interesting to hear brysons thoughts on it!
shouldnt be pointing to the left hip?
It started with him in high-school, he said he had pain in his hands that wouldn't go away.
I'm 6'2" and had the same issue. Put on WINN Oversized LT and haven't had that pain again!
@@tankeater Same size and my hands are in intense pain from golfing, ive only been playing for a month too. I need to get me some of these.
I have Brysons exact grips with his logo on them. They are great and have helped me swing faster and really push my speed training because it’s easier to hold on to the club. Well done Pete! 👍
Thanks Pete, interesting . Lockdown new skill for me was re-gripping my clubs . Picked Golf Pride MCC Plus4 Align. You need the grips, solvent, tape, shaft clamp, vice (i used my workmate) and hooked stanley knife blade. Take it steady and it's about 10 mins per grip. Very satisfying...roll on the 29th March..
10:03 “using muscles that I’ve almost never used before”. Don’t think we buy that one Peter haha
"Its your only point of contact with the club" --- You don't know me!
Love the content these days
Loving the content! Keep it up!
I use the XL on my driver, and now I can't go back to a small (regular) size grip
Did you ever try midsize with 2 or 3 extra wraps?? Have you tried Golfpride Tour Velvet Jumbos?
Can't wait until the Good Good colab!
please no... not mamma's boy on this channel as well
@@M_Oz_ Who exactly is the mommas boy of Good Good? Sounds like someone is just jealous
@@hotshotawb3923 Jealous? Not at all, I just can't stand Garrett. First how he handled Bro Five then how he is always trying to get in front of the camera in videos that has absolutely nothing to do with him.
Great video. Need to regrip my clubs, and was leaning to oversized grips, but think I might need to try jumbo now!!
Great vid Peter ,been looking to change grips for a while ,,,will try these on an old set of clubs before deciding 👍
“Ah-mih-zin” I can’t stop saying it that way now
2 of my friends use these grips due to arthritic hands. One is actually friends with Bryson
Liar
@@huntersandberg9193 You're special aren't you ?
@@TZOID08 no, I'm just being realistic. He's a pga golfer, who just completed it the MASTERS, and your claiming that you know him. Hard to believe
@@huntersandberg9193 You struggle with reading don't you ??? I never claimed I knew Bryson.... READING IS FUNDAMENTAL AND YOU'RE AN IDIOT ! Go read it again and I'll wait
@@TZOID08 if your friend knows Bryson, chances are you do to. I read it correctly, I'm just using something I like to call ✨logic✨
Really enjoyed that, thanks Pete. New studio is looking decent too!
Brilliant stuff Pete! Awesome video bro!
I feel like these would be good for someone that has a severe miss left. Seems like you would have to force it to even flirt with anything left, with those grips. 😂
Bryson’s long shaft. Mutant his code word and do this
Love the videos lately
I have GP std-size Tour Velvet but am in the process of changing over to GP New Decade MCC Plus 4 mid-size. It's too early to tell if the grips are having any impact on my scores, but the feel is good and I find the mid-size allows me to hold the club with less grip pressure (I wear a L-size glove) so my hands are less tired by the end of a round or practice session. The Plus 4 reduced taper allows me to maintain 'soft hands' when gripping down on any club but especially around the greens. They are heavier than a std grip so they do produce a slight counter-balance effect that changes the swing weight ever so slightly. In my case, I'm enjoying the change.
Who else came from the Instagram live
Me!
You did a terrible injustice to the grip. You should have swing normal instead of trying to replicate brysons swing mechanics. Terrible shame as you did not help neither the grip maker nor the viewer in my opinion! Sadly you even used one length clubs which you are not used to. I must say that I don’t believe it was your intention to be biased.
I have them on my clubs. I love them!
As a beginner from COVID i've come down from a 45 handicap to 17.
Really stopped blocking stuff left and shanking right as much.
Think these grips have really helped
Love the vids Pete! You are the English Bryson in my eyes 👀 keep it up!!
Peter hello from Indianapolis, IN USA. I absolutely love the videos and I am a new subscriber working through your catalog of uploads. Keep up the good work
2 drivers ago I switched to a thicker and softer grip after trying a friends. I was using MCC 4 Plus standard size grips. I now have all my woods gripped with CP2 Pro mids ( I have smallish hands) and it has helped me with control and consistancy off the tee. Also switched up to a larger grip on my putter with the same positive results (Super Stroke 3.0) over the stock Scotty Cameron grip. Have stuck with standard sized MCC 4 Plus on irons and wedges tho.
Fun video, Peter! Hope your fingers heal up soon. I can't wait until the world is normal-ish again. I'm a musician and we usually tour the UK and play a couple of shows a year at Manchester Academy and can't wait to come back. Cheers from Nashville, TN.
looking forward to the good good collab!
I don't have those specifically, but I currently using Golf Pride CP2 jumbo size plus 4 wraps. You don't squeeze at all and can hold the club in a weaker grip, as you mentioned. Best thing that has happened to my game.
Back at you Pete can't wait to see some more course vlogs when the shutdown ends.
Used the Super Stroke Traxion Tour Oversize for a few months now.
I found them to wear out too quickly on the driver and are slick and hard to control on the irons when its damp!
Switched to Lamkin Crossline 1150 (wedge grip) with extra tape, the extra length gives better control when gripping down.
Notice the difference and will continue to use oversize now.
I’d love to try one length irons 🏌️♂️ keep the content coming brother Finch 👊🏼
I use the midsize version of the jumbo max grips and love them. Still big but comfortable for me
I use to have the small JM (Jumbomax) grips on my driver and 3w and really liked the feel but donated that set. But I have been using the Winn Excel mid grip currently because when I went to purchase the same JM grip for my current driver and 3w, they have been out of stock. So I tried the large, just for an experiment. The large did not work for me on the driver, but then just for giggles, I took it off of the driver and put it on an older 56 degree wedge. Game Changer! So now I put large JM grips on 2 of my irons and a 52 degree and WoW the feel is amazing!
I use the GP tour velvet grips from my wedges to my irons (might change from standard to midsize or adding extra tape underneath ) and GP mcc grips for my woods for extra friction when it rains and for the extra speed compared to when I'm hitting irons
Watching the end of the video and yes, the TXG guys did a lot of testing and it definitely helps stop going left.
BBG loving the videos, keep them coming
Thanks Greg, will do
I use the Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 in midsize. The lack of taper helps me stop hooks and my hands are bigger than the average person so them being midsize really helps.
I us align grips. However I did install some of them for my lad on his driver and 7 wood and he loves them. They actually made a noticeable difference for him. I believe they are just for a very small size of golfers. Very cool and unique though!
Just changed all mine to Golf Pride CP2 standard which are slightly wider at the bottom . They were expensive but got them at a bargain price from a PGA pro. My son (ex assistant pro ) put them on for me ! I bought a Titleist gap wedge with one already fitted and loved it , hence the change.
I use the jumbo max xl on my woods and jumbomax med on my irons/wedges. Has fixed my huge driver hook and I can swing my 3wood away straight every time. Helps the big draw with the irons also.
As a senior with large hands I recently started using a jumbo grip what a difference amazing more comfortable easier to swing. As I also use the Moe Norman grip it really helps
Robert McCabe
FINALLY!!!! Ive been waiting for this explanation.
I just put a set of Golf Pride CP2 Jumbo grips on my irons.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much it helped me hold onto the club. I do need to work on how I grip my left hand, but initial results were better contact, straighter ball flights, and more feeling in the heads, as I moved swing weight up the club by a lot with the new grips. I can now really feel when I tow it, heel it, thin it, etc.
The one problem I have currently is hitting the ball thin, but I did have the clubs shortened a half inch to fix my dynamic lie. Having only hit a hundred balls or so, I still have to get used to the new grips, but it looks promising.
I love my midsize grips on all my irons and wedges and standard+2 tapes on my driver. The bigger grips makes me feel I can grip the clubs less tight, my hybrids have standard grips and I tend to cling to them too much pulling them far left quite too often
I use the Golf Pride’s Midsize plus. I’ve considered going to a fatter grip because I have big mitts. When I grab a club on the shelf with regular grip, it feels like the size of a pencil in my hand. Great video.
Switched to MCC+4 standard grips last year and WOW what a difference. Immediately felt more comfortable and more in control of the club.
I've struggled for years with the ball going left, I've changed my hole bag to those grips and its stopped it. Its taken me a while to get use to the feel but I'm getting there
Great two handed action, with an eyes shot. Classic....
Got the XL ones, the biggest ones. Getting them fitted Saturday. Can't wait to try them.
Would love to see a video with you taking these for a full round.
Love the videos lately Pete
Thank you
Just got the new Callaway Apex 21s with Golf Pride CP2 Pro standard..lovvvvve those grips
I currently run Gold Pride MMC plus four midsize with two wraps on my wedges and irons. I use the same grips in jumbo on my woods with one wrap. I was using JumboMax tour wraps in large on my driver and 3 wood but I found that there was too much difference when I use those then move to my irons. I found it better to keep the same general feel between my grips. I agree though, grips are the most important piece equipment you can use in your set.
Have been using single plane swing for about 20 years now, saw it in a golf magazine somewhere, just made sense to me because it gets club face back to ball perfectly most times. Am a twice a year golfer these days, but I can assure you this method still works brilliantly for me, can consistently smash tee shot well over 270 metres with very little warm up on driving range. Love the idea of the soft jumbo grips, very keen to give that a whirl as also get sore hands.
I use the Golf Pride CP2 Jumbo grips on all my clubs... I tend to have less forearm stress using them... also, they are very, very durable... a few of mine have been on my clubs for at least 4 years, and they still perform great!
