AZ you have to watch the TPW episode with “The Carny” It is podcast gold. This guys could get on stage right now and be better than most comics, but mostly it’s just a great interview by Theo.
The difference is Mitzi was probably not as heavily involved with the filtering of the comedy store when Bapa was allowed to perform and not being Joe Rogan’s place of business. He really had no say in it, I think.
Now that he has his own place, he can keep the integrity of what once was at the comedy store.
Like uncle Joey said, there’s a lot of people who would not be playing on that stage if she was still around.

It’s quite likely that joe opened those doors for schaub and regretted it. The joke stealing, creating drama in the community, and lack of progress over 8 years of comedy… how much more should Rogan do? Also Rogan is pretty public about wanting a meritocracy and would be seen as a hypocrite if his nepotism baby was on stage at the biggest club in the US. Schaub unfollowing Rogan is a symbol of his friendship ending with Rogan which is petty and par for the course for schaub.
yeah thats a good point. rogan could only look the other way for so long until he washed his hands of bapa, unfortunately the timing was awful for bapa, right when rogan goes and opens a new comedy club he's now no longer in his good graces 😢
Maybe Rogan will get more discerning. But I doubt it, his own standup is not good, not sure he is the one who should be standup's gatekeeper
I think this is it too.. you know he regrets bringing schaub into the comedy scene. I guarantee he thinks back to that day when he told him “you should do stand up” like it’s something anyone can pick up and do , successfully.. schaub said ok. I guess I’m a comedian.. and immediately is an opener.. didn’t work his way through the comedy underworld whatsoever.. and that pissed a lot of people off. Meanwhile you know Rogan sees what he did and has to make it right..

At first i thought it was messed up that Rogan would not let Brendan perform that the mothership but then again, there is a standard to uphold and if Rogan lets him go up just because he is his friend then that means every other amateur comic would be calling him out for giving his friends special treatment so i totally respect him for that. The guy does uphold integrity and his name over everything and Rogan owes him nothing.
Man the comedy Mothership looks like so much fun! everyone just having the best time.. but its ok Bapa is way more happy throwing a ball to his kid..

mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn. i like to think i'm quite thick-skinned and that i have a strong resolve, but i honestly think my resolve would be tested to the maximum if i was bapa 😂 i dont blame him for unfollowing the mothership on ig, it was too much to see on his feed everyday, especially now that deric poston has been passed, he's allover their ig, like a constant reminded of how far bapa has fallen off, brutal!
The reason why Brendan isn't allowed at the club like a Regular is because of what he did to Bobby Lee.

@ Agostinho Zinga After thinking about this a little more: I think Rogan should have let him do a few sets at the mothership by now. Lol A lot of those comic on that 80 or so rotation of performers aren't much funnier than Bapa. Maybe 10%, if that! I guess the difference is that they aren't known for being " one of the worst stand-ups EVER ", or " The most terrible comedy special in history..." Many of them are industry types who are known, but doesn't have a big enough following to be noticable for being shitty at comedy. 😂😂😂 Poor Bapa!!! Lol
Brendan only cares about the fame and money though; he's never truly loved standup like his more famous friend, which is why ultimately I don't feel that sorry for him: If Joe Rogan had a popular daily livestream that made millions + made a ton cash doing spoken word poetry acts, Bapa would suddenly pretend that he's well read, and then start his own daily livestreams. Lol At least most other comedians care or used to care what they do on stage.
