LoL, I don’t think they’re regular people! I very much agree with you though! Even if my knees, back, shoulders, and mind felt like theirs, I don’t know if I would have to motivation to do a project like this. They are an example of what I strive to be.

It is funny the difference a bit of paint makes, not a brown lump but a hull. Cannot wait for the turn over.

Monumental fairing job. I can't believe seeing no distortions in the wet reflection on a moving camera. You probably have fixes knowing your meticulous craftsmanship but that coat of paint is like undressing in front of a mirror. You both should be very proud. Also, 20 minutes on the longboard would send many of us to rehab so thanks for letting us share something we couldn't dream of doing.

That means I'm just one of many that looks forward to watching every week. Johan does such a nice job of giving some parting remarks every week. Thank You so much. (missed Vera). Ron

You could build timber rails/channels. A wide piece of 35 or 45 mm thick timber, say 120 to 150 mm wide, with narrow, say 35 x 35 mm side rails screwed to one face would make a suitable channel. It would just need to be supported on the ground so it did not sag and break.

Better get your copyright for Johan’s “Longboard Sanding Exercise & Diet” regime before some else try’s to market it 😂 Seriously, your episodes are a tonic. I like the wheels, I would guess that under a big loading (a) they will compress the plywood, (b) be difficult to transition from one surface to another, as at the edges the plowood may no be able to support the wheels as they move to or from the concrete, so you may need to create a step beyond the edge of the concrete. Perhaps you can test by putting your car on a frame supported by the wheels?

Get Automotove Tires on an axle, because you can use to move the boat multiple times (without a track). The track you build for the plastic wheels will offset any savings you have by buying the smaller wheels. The White _Plastic wheels are too small for the job. Always use the right size Tool for the job. BTW you did a superb job on the Hull. !!

If it helps: I have similar wheels on my cradle and my boat, although only 28’, is about 5 tonne with its cradle (a steel cradle) and what I found when I first wheeled it into my shed for rebuild, despite the shed slab being level, the wheels wanted to turn down hill at the slightest variation in the gradient outside the shed on my gravel driveway. I had set up pine sleepers to level the driveway and to set the wheels on and I ended up screwing/clamping guide rails on top of the sleepers to track the wheels. When I eventually wheel it out of the shed after I’ve finished the rebuild I plan to buy some light gauge steel C channel and lay it over pine sleepers, with the sleepers mostly taking the main load but the C channel being sufficient to spread the point load of the wheels and to guide them.

Hi guys you are doing such a great job, we'll done.
Just a thought about the track system to get your boat out of the barn. Why not dig two tracks 2 feet deep (like a foundation trench) and fill it with concrete from the same level as the floor your boat is on now.
No need for steel beams or plywood etc and it will carry the weight of the finished RAN111.
Keep up the great work, and all the best from New Zealand.
