The house and the grounds work you are doing in addition to the boat build is amazing! Well done and the grounds are shaping up and looking good! 🏡🌳Thanks for showing all of this to us.
It is obvious to anyone who watches RAN Sailing that this man Johan is awesome. What a national treasure Sweden has. We are all proud of you and your wonderful family. God bless
Your garden has turned out beautiful. Owning and maintaining a home, there is always something to be done. Beautiful sailboat. I loved seeing you out enjoying yourselves sailing. Vera's hair is getting so long. I hope she keeps it long. Thanks for sharing.
I am encouraged. My hubby and I are putting love back into our boat after living onboard for four years. Everything is harder than it use to be. Watching your videos helps us keep going. Thanks!
Another great episode, guys. The 42 was nice, yet happy you are building a 50. 2 wet heads just won’t do for my bride and I. 🫢 The garden areas are just lovely 🎉🎉🎉 See you next time. 😊
Your property is looking beautiful 😊 lt was so nice to see you on board the Scandi 42.. she is a beautiful boat ⛵️ I am looking forward to your interior design of Ran III 🥰
I always enjoy seeing your garden and home grounds. So peaceful even with all the chores and projects. Was good to see you on the water, that was a very nice sailboat. Vera is getting so tall.
@RANSailing Hey, do you guys know SV Mereweather? She's Swedish and he's Australian. They have twins and I think they need to duplicate the Bicycle Seat you built for your daughter to sit in the cockpit of your previous boat. They obviously will need 2 Bicycle seats to sail their Amel.
Thank You for showing us around the farm. It really looks beautiful and like you have a green thumb. Enjoy it and your family while you can. Soon the snows will come and then another of inside work on the boat.
Beautiful boat to view for ideas. I have a 42 foot pilothouse boat myself and a design change I made was to raise the pilothouse salon seats so that you can see out clearly while sitting. On a passage you don’t want to be sitting in the companionway or the captain chair, but be relaxing and watching from the comfortable bench seat with the autopilot steering. I’m not sure why you cannot see out from most seating in pilothouse boats, but I sure am glad I raised mine up about one foot from the original plans.
Apart from the sailing and boatwork some gorgeous filming of your surrounding countryside. You insert just the right amount, not too much not too little, then back to work!! Lovely to watch.
It is good that you use epoxy resin, it is nice to watch when you do not save on important things and are built from high -quality materials. A small increase in price due to epoxy resin is given by many advantages of which the main one of which is the feeling of reliability and durability of the boat.
A very enjoyable video this week. Your garden is really coming along nicely. The expression on Vera’s face was funny when Johan asked her what she thought of the boat🙂. I agree with Johan’s epoxy over Vinyl rationale. Keep up the good work guys.
I’m also working exclusively with Epoxy (food grade on my boat project), and since I’m working always in very good ventilated areas, I haven’t even taken any precaution (like respirators), and have not developed any allergies so far. However, I use a different product for fairing, which is not food grade, and this one does not give me allergies with breathing, or skin reactions, but bothers me with slimy eyes for a couple of days. However, once this fairing material is cured, it does not have any negative effect anymore.
I love the smooth flow between contrasting subjects... lamination technique, serene shots of surrounding countryside, sailing, interviewing. It's clearly a lot of hard work you have undertaken but you handle it and present it all to us very gracefully.
Wow! That cork deck and flooring looked impressing - so interesting. In thought it would be to soft for handling wear and tear, and then the owner says: Its more durable than teak.... Mycket ska man få höra innan öronen trillar av....(Much to hear before you loose your ears)
What a lovely boat you went to see and nice to give you an actual visual reference to the similarities yours will have. Oh I love that mist over the fields, absolutely beautiful. You guys are doing such a wonderful job on building Ran III. Your home is looking great and you are always improving it. Loved the vlog :)
Great work! Epoxy, having a slower cure time is both stiffer, stronger, as well as less brittle over the long term than both vinyl and polyester ( the later actually becomes porous over a period of time). You have made the right choice. Another quality video!
Triple wow 👏 you have achieved so much by now already. You can be very proud and it is amazing being able to follow your progress on building such a beautiful boat. Thank you so much for sharing. I appreciate your hard building and editing work very much. Blessings and Kudos from us 🫶
That Scandi 42 was a stunning design, really love the cork deck and beautiful interior design. Actually liked it better than some of the luxury 50+ ft yachts on Yachting World.
Another great video guys and the details of the laminating process plus an overview of the Scandi 42 and a short sale. I loved the features of the windows in the rear of the cabin, something I have never seen before certainly not in my part of the world 👍👍🇳🇿
The test sail of the Scandi 42 must have reinvigorated your drive with a look forward to getting your vessel on the water. Cheers from the North Coast of BC!
Very nice video! I could even see the mast of my boat in Ystad Marina ! That scandi42 seems like a great boat , I would argue you found a great naval architect for your build !
Yes. I do not like blind spots in cockpit/doghouse. The first thing I noticed about this boat was the 360° visibility . So many boats have extremely limited visibility from enclosed areas. I find it very unpleasant not to be able to see what’s going on outside the boat.
@RANSailing I'm so happy for you both, and I've been following your journey since before Vira was born. I can't help feeling a little envious-in a good way!
The sail must have been reassuring that you picked the right designer. The deck house is great. It keeps the crew safe in bad conditions and comfortable no matter the conditions. The build is moving along nicely. In my opinion, your choice of using epoxy was the right one. The bond between the wood and the glass using epoxy is far superior. I built a boat in the 90s when the price of epoxy compared to any alternative was 2 to 1, and she is still sailing today without a single sign of delamination or water penitraing the epoxy to the wood. Thanks for taking us along.
I was on the deerfoot 63 "Hotspur" now called Kailani in Tonga recently, a Rogeberg/Dashew design. I am never sure thst Ulf really undrstood what Dashew was trying to do. I have a sundeer 60 with which I have averaged just over 200 miles a day in the last 2 years 15500 miles. Fast, easy to sail, comfortable & safe...I love it.
I built a 12-foot cedar strip row boat and never thought it would end. I wish I had your youth and tenacity! :). Carry on Vikings, the farm and hull are both looking beautiful.
The house and the grounds work you are doing in addition to the boat build is amazing! Well done and the grounds are shaping up and looking good! 🏡🌳Thanks for showing all of this to us.
Sailing that 42 must have been soothing to the soul and inspiration to keep going strong.
It is obvious to anyone who watches RAN Sailing that this man Johan is awesome. What a national treasure Sweden has. We are all proud of you and your wonderful family. God bless
First thing, before watching the video: Like the video!
That's a must do
I’m the same
Definitely, a given. That's pretty much every subscription I sub to. Why are you people not liking the vids?
Sometimes we forget. Sorry😢
Yes I also always do that😊
wow that 42 really was nice Ill bet RAN3 will be GREAT when the 2 of you finish.
Man, the quietness is unbelievable!!!
Loved the windows on the boat you visited. Great visibility
Me too!
But do you get cooked in warm summer days?🤔
@@alexxela754 They had installed a sort of transparent curtain that was colored so it wouldn't get so hot.
Your garden has turned out beautiful. Owning and maintaining a home, there is always something to be done.
Beautiful sailboat. I loved seeing you out enjoying yourselves sailing. Vera's hair is getting so long. I hope she keeps it long.

Love that sax solo. Perfect fiberglassing music.
You've done such a nice job around the barn it really looks ship-shape !
Said it many times before:
GREAT JOB & GREAT VIDEOS !!!
Love the garden and yard as well
The Scandi 42 is amazing!
Another great episode, guys. The 42 was nice, yet happy you are building a 50. 2 wet heads just won’t do for my bride and I. 🫢 The garden areas are just lovely 🎉🎉🎉 See you next time. 😊
The view from your house is beautiful
You must have your heads full of ideas after seeing that boat. The farm is looking good as well.
Your property is looking beautiful 😊 lt was so nice to see you on board the Scandi 42.. she is a beautiful boat ⛵️ I am looking forward to your interior design of Ran III 🥰
I love that boat, it seems perfect in so many ways. I know you must miss sailing! Your boat is coming along nicely though :)
Pretty boat! And I do love the visibility aft - very nice.
I always enjoy seeing your garden and home grounds. So peaceful even with all the chores and projects. Was good to see you on the water, that was a very nice sailboat. Vera is getting so tall.
Gee, I'd be tempted to buy the boat and head for the wide open spaces. Life is for living!
We’re going to build even faster so we can be out there soon as well ☺️
@RANSailing Hey, do you guys know SV Mereweather? She's Swedish and he's Australian.

Nice to see your development
The raised deck-house on the Skanda looks great and functions well. I recommend that you get your designer to copy it for Ran 2. Well done!

Interesting seeing a finished boat! Lots of cool features!
Now that was a great dose of inspiration and motivation. Nice boat
Beyond the amazing boat work, what a beautiful home you guys are creating 😊

Great design and beautiful. I can not wait until you guys are off to new adventures in your custom built sailboat.
Looking great guys! Soon you will be back out there on RAN III

Great video...
As always. The aft windows on Scandi.42 are really nice and give this boat "racy" look.
wow that boat is light..
A happy viking at the helm always makes for a great day sailing
I like that blue and white flag in that scandi 42....
Wow! That cork deck and flooring looked impressing - so interesting. In thought it would be to soft for handling wear and tear, and then the owner says: Its more durable than teak.... Mycket ska man få höra innan öronen trillar av....(Much to hear before you loose your ears)
Agreed. Epoxy beats polyester resin.
Thanks very well made .

Love the Scandi cabinetry & woodwork. RAN is progressing great, looking fantastic & almost ready to start with framing it looks like.
Well done 👍. Thanks for taking the time to share.

A fast and light Scandinavian sailboat ? Sounds interesting ..
What a wonderful wholesome chanel. Love you guys. The boat build is coming along nicely!! 🤗💞
Such impeccable work 🏆. The farm looks so fantastic 🎉
Super nice video.
Thanks ✨️👍🏻
That Scandi 42 was a stunning design, really love the cork deck and beautiful interior design. Actually liked it better than some of the luxury 50+ ft yachts on Yachting World.
Your farm is very beautiful! ❤
I’m also following along for all the farm projects! The garden and patio area look wonderful!🪴
Boats coming along, garden is looking great too!
That boat you sailed on is beautiful
Going a looking at another boat is always an inspiration to forge ahead with your own build as I am finding with my own build experience 😊
Another great video guys and the details of the laminating process plus an overview of the Scandi 42 and a short sale. I loved the features of the windows in the rear of the cabin, something I have never seen before certainly not in my part of the world 👍👍🇳🇿
Finland mentioned! All to the square! Edit: I was actually born not long from Monäs, we had our cottage close by.
interesting how they carried the deck covering down into all the cabins.
The test sail of the Scandi 42 must have reinvigorated your drive with a look forward to getting your vessel on the water. Cheers from the North Coast of BC!
It was great to see you get to sail some again.
Garden is looking great, good job!
..and a fine garden too
Very nice video! I could even see the mast of my boat in Ystad Marina ! That scandi42 seems like a great boat , I would argue you found a great naval architect for your build !
The doghouse makes it almost as luxurious as a catamaran.
Yes. I do not like blind spots in cockpit/doghouse. The first thing I noticed about this boat was the 360° visibility .
So many boats have extremely limited visibility from enclosed areas. I find it very unpleasant not to be able to see what’s going on outside the boat.
outside projects really makes your place very attractive, I hope you'll do a video of your inside renovations.
Thank you both for sharing this saga of yours, both the Boat and the Home, Oh and by the bye loved the Music background, a perfect mood set,
Another lovely video Amigos and Vera!!❤😂🎉😅
@RANSailing I'm so happy for you both, and I've been following your journey since before Vira was born. I can't help feeling a little envious-in a good way!
You forgot to mention the superior mechanical properties of wood/epoxy as opposed to Vinyl/Poly ester resins. Looking good!
Thankyou 👍 it's coming on very well

Such a beautiful location!!
Malin's going to have a bright future as a landscape designer
Congrats for your beautiful garden 👏👏👏

Expensive though in marinas & for haulouts. That's a whole lot of boat to work on. Though if affordable a true sailors dream boat!
Love watching the progress of your new boat. Also love your beautiful garden
Everything looks beautiful
Loving these weekly videos, keep up the great work.
The windows on that deck saloon were really cool! Would love to hear what features you want to incorporate in your own boat.
Östen känner jag från tiden när jag byggde glasfiberbåtar!
Han hälsar!
looks great
We love your show.... You all do great work on the boat, and farm.....
That’s very interesting with that light boat and how it performed in the weather
Amazing project!

Gräsmattan jag gjorde har tagit sig riktigt fint 😊 Riktigt kul att se hur fint allting blir. Och riktigt kul att följa båtbygget 😊

Great video
I built a 12-foot cedar strip row boat and never thought it would end. I wish I had your youth and tenacity! :). Carry on Vikings, the farm and hull are both looking beautiful.
Stay safe and we'll see you next week.
